Thanks Robin. I find it interesting some of these things described in multiple accounts. Hairs, worms, and an association of bedding and the caps of young boys being associated with the symptoms being aggravated.

It talks of how poverty stricken areas suffered the worst. Could this be indicitive of less hygeine/no knowledge of germs? Clothes and bedding could be dirtier as well. Sewage was often dumped out into the streets froms chamber pots.

I find it interesting that such things as honey, sulphur and hot water are mentioned as treatment. Honey is a natural antibiotic interesting.

carla i had never heard of them i actually stumbled across this yesterday.attitudes haven't changed! thats what i found quite interesting also L.C the three drs came up with basically the same conclusion. i'm so ready to slather some honey and some warm milk all over my head! what do ya think?

Well who knows? Milk has been used in beauty treatments, as well as honey. What many people do not realize that beauty treatments can be healthful as well for the skin.
