Doc, what does this have to do with the topic of this thread? I think we all know about it. For those who missed this thread see here:

Rally About The C.D.C.in Atlanta Or Washington (permalink 1).

You could always keep bumping up your own thread with new calls to action. That way it will be on topic and not interrupt other threads on the forum.

2many,
This was very helpful to me. This needs to be sent to Senators and Congress persons. I doubt they or the president and his family eat an ALL organic diet. They are putting their children and grandchildren at risk by not doing something about this. I also sent an email to Dr. Kalani to make sure our family was added to his list of 500,000, not 10,000 as reported by Citovsky (who seems to be working for Monsanto or some company of their ilk).

Hi Carla and All:

Many people who are ill have been frustrated by the CDC's apparent inaction; here are my thoughts from the view of a primary health care giver's point of view.

Even if there is a new disease, with a newly identified set of objective (vs subjective) criteria, many doctors are not educated on new diseases. Then if they are, they refer to the CDC or NIH or other normal mainstream webpages for reliable info; and, give the treatment that is recommended. The problem with Morgellon's is that the etiology is not yet pinned down. So it cannot be diagnosed with any criteria, either objective or subjective, and all health care givers want to keep their jobs and be able to keep their malpractice insurance and earn a living but they must adhere to standard diagnostic procedures to do so.

I am retired, but when I was working, I saw patients in the days when HIV was new and it was a health problem but the etiology was mysterious at first. Now we know it is a disease caused by a pathogen, and it can be diagnosed with a blood test, we know how to prevent it and there are treatments for it. That doesn't mean that before the blood test people weren't sick, it meant there was no way to easily diagnose the disease. After the pathogen was identified eventually things progressed and we have a test for diagnosis and treatments for the disease. Ditto for Lyme's Disease - it was discovered in the 1970's but it was not until the 1980's when we knew the etiology; it is due to one of three pathogens all of a single bacterial species caused by a tick leaving behind an unwanted guest. And so we're in the period where Morgellon's Disease etiology is unknown still.

The bad news is no one can control how fast progress will be made. The good news is that people can recover, and have fairly good health; some do get well and when then do so it is their own immune system that helps them to overcome this and other diseases. In the absence of drug treatment, the logical approach is to do things to support and protect your immune system. That's good advice whether the CDC has a protocol or not. I think they're slow, but hopefully they'll sort out the etiology, create a diagnostic procedure and then researchers can devise effective treatments.

I have been wondering for some time now, if this is at the root of Morgellons and that the parasites, bacterias, yeasts, fungi, virus', etc, that so many also seem to be plagued with, are simply opportunistic infections or infestations due to immune function deficiency.

For example: people with functional immune systems can have small populations of any of the above infectious agents, but are generally ok, because their immune system keeps things in check.

For an immuno-compromised individual, that could be disastrous.

There are some good thoughts in this thread about what might be contributing to poor immune function in increasing numbers of the population.

Round-up, an organophosphate weed-killer is sprayed everywhere in the part of the UK where I now live. It is a common hormone-disruptor, with greatest impact on the endocrine system. It is sprayed on pavements/sidewalks, verges and parks, around public buildings and often used as a cost-cutting measure for local authorities as a replacement for repeat weed removal and grass edge trimming.
I asked my local authority several years ago to notify neighborhoods when these sprayings were to take place, so that people could keep their children and pets indoor during spraying and away from freshly sprayed grass areas and sidewalks. I posted that in the local paper and wrote to the council directly.

I got no response.

Last spring in May, I stopped one of the men doing the spraying and struck up a conversation with him. He had been working for the local authority (town government) for seven years and had been doing the spraying yearly. He wore no waterproof pants or jacket, no gloves, no mask, no hat and no eye protection; his work boots and trouser bottoms were shiny with the oily spray residue. I asked him if, as part of his job, he was regularly (yearly) tested for pesticide or herbicide exposure.
He said that he had never been tested, and his employer had never mentioned or recommended it.

YES. YES. YES. IMMUNE SYSTEM Malfunction. For certain, this was the issue for me. A Toxin overload and lots of nutrient deficiencies led to my immune system dysfunction I believe. My body could not detox properly and I had a high heavy metal load. A few rounds of antibiotics for a sinus infection killed off the good flora in my body. Gut infections (mold/pathogenic bacteria/yeast) overgrew, the yeast in my body great out of control, and at the same time, I got a mold skin infection on my entire body from a moldy showerhead. In addition, the gut infections caused leaky gut, and I had about 80 food intolerances. The food intolerances were also keeping my immune system busy.

My husband was exposed to the same things I was, but only I got ill.

The mold and yeast on my skin attracted all kinds of bugs and those stupid white larva things also.

Now that I have been giving my body what it needs to heal (especially vitamin b12 - I was severely deficient and not absorbing that many nutrients because of the messed-up gut) and working on the known infections one by one, I am recovering. My immune system seemed to "wake up" when I started on the b12 shots. I worked with external treatments long ago and the biting and stinging and bugs left last Fall, but I didn't start to really heal on the inside until I started on the vitamin b12.

Yes, Gigi, I have been noticing some difference too with b-12 shots. My doctor is also having me add folic acid, b-6, and thiamine. I do feel more energetic from the shots although still not feel back to normal. The shots and my TCM herbs are making quite a bit of difference for me lately.

TCM - I had no idea I was severely deficient until I took a heavy metal challenge test. It showed no detectable b12 in my body tissues, and I had been taking b12 in tablet form for several months before that!
I'm glad you are feeling something from them.. I suffered a detox reaction for 2 months (brain fog, fatigue) after starting up on the shots.. and after 2 months, I started to feel better.. of course, my liver isn't too happy right now. I guess its always something

Default factors to considor

Hi,
I have just noticed in the last few days the crawling/sting under my skin. Mostly on my face and neck. It got so bad in one day I would not leave the house, the sores on my face will not heal and leaking fluid. I had noticed the fibers all tangled when the surface of the skin was scratched a few days ago before the sores had grown bigger. I thought it was scabies but not if only on face and neck. I had horrible neck pain last week and thought I had just a really bad lung infection. Everyday that i woke up became harder and harder to get up, I feel extremely tired.
I have been taking the medication adderall for 6 months now. I have heard similar stories about other people on adderall that thought they had bugs in there face. I know what I am experiencing is real and I want answers. I wont give up until I find out what is going on and why.
I have felt suicidal and crazy the last week.
I just started taking Grapefruit seed extract I hope it works fast.
Anyone who can help please help me find answers!

Ladyslipper,
Please Don't despair.Your not alone and you can get better again.
I can't give you any advice on then Adderall as I avoid all medication.
I only got well after watching what I ate.
Do any other members have any experience on Adderall?
I know people have mentioned it in the past.
