| Good Morning Everyone, Me and my partner have been in deep discussion with regards to morgellons and she recalls being told in pregnancy that you are told you may suffer from a crawling and itching sensastion during pregnancy and that it may be advisable to undergo a Liver Function Test. Has this ever been mentioned in the site before ? Also I would like to know if there is a common bond that all sufferers have these may include. 1, Same Blood Group. 2, Similar Family medical histories. 3, Liver Complaints within the family line. or any thing else that maybe able to pinpoint why only a handful of people suffer this terrible thing. I would really appreciate all comments please. Have a wonderful day. Warmest Regards Robert |

| Hi Robert, Blood type has been mentioned here on the forum in the past. Here is a link which has the following quote about morgellons and blood type. The material in the following link (I have only quoted a small part it) was all copied by a member from the site run by Marc Neuman who is the maker of the DSP cream many here use. If you have not searched that site it might interest you. Meanwhile here is Marc's take on the blood issue done with some of his informal research: http://www.morgellons-disease-resear...p?topic=2749.0 "The blood type, skin thickness and weight of the host seem not to play a role, but many life factors that keeps the body in permanent chemical conditions which lower the immune system. After asking many sufferers which blood type they have, we must claim that all blood groups (A, B, O, A-B) were present among morgellons sufferers and so more investigations in that direction seems to be senseless. Perhaps also not a certain human DNA disorder due to a missing chromosome etc. seems to be the reason of infection. But people who had a stressfull life are more compromised than those, which had a good childhood (not stress induced) with the opportunity to build up a good immune system. A low stress childhood creating perhaps a lower Cortisol level (stress hormone) than others. Many morgellons sufferers wrote us, that during their pregnancy they had been symptom free for 9 month." http://www.morgellons-research.org (Marc's site)

| Thank you Tcm, Your response is very informative as usual. It has a line that has got me thinking too ! If sufferers are free from the symptoms of morg when they are pregnant what chemical changes occur in the body which make it dormant ? And is this is 100 percent of the cases or most. A very interesting question when pregnancy is a very stressful time for some where the morg would normally thrive. It maybe just that your immune system is on high alert and at its most active too. My Fiance Sarah has POS (Polysistic Ovaries Syndrome) and when she is pregnant the symptoms of POS are also dormant. Regards Robert |

| Morning all, Just wanted to say on the pregnancy front, I think the hormones kick in pretty quick to make the womb a safe place to grow. Morning sickness is one of the ways that hormones help to cleanse the body of the overload of bacterias, toxins etc. There are a number of diseases where symptoms subside during pregnancy - MS being one, but like Morgellons the symptoms return at some point afterwards. Robert, I think that Borrelia, the bacteria that causes Lyme disease, plays a major part in this conundrum. I believe all Morgs have lyme, although Frito has now made me question this hypothesis, as she's tested negative. I need to investigate what tests were used ![]() I know that my itching is caused by the fibres and bacteria. When I clean my skin with antibacterials it is absent until more push through from within. Hope this helps abit ![]() Jo xxx |

| Hi again Robert, My partial take on the absence of symptoms during pregnancy would be that the body has a higher temperature overall during that time. Given that many of those with morgellons seem to have excess fluid in their bodies from whatever cause (my guess would be lymph dysfunction which includes the spleen) a higher body temperature would tend to dry up the excess fluid (what in Chinese medicine is called dampness problems, frequently seen in the Western person) which I believe helps support parasite growth within the body. Perhaps these parasites tend to go dormant because of that and because the immune system as you point out improves from the pregnancy, the mother literally borrowing some protection from the fetus itself. One of the issues I feel nearly all of us have too is endocrine system dysfunction of one sort or another, most likely adrenal and/or thyroid. I believe that issue is behind so many illneses, disrupting the body's hormonal balance. This issue was discussed extensively in the live lyme/austism conference on Saturday by more than one doctor. During pregnancy the mother definitely would gain the benefit from additional hormones from the fetus. All this will improve immune system function too. Correcting metabolism and bringing body temperatures up during the day to the desirable levels of 98.2-98.6 would help many people stay well. Instead many people (those not pregnant) walk around with lower body temperatures and compromised health as a result. This is an area most of Western medicine patently ignores, to the detriment of many who become sick because their bodies are fairly ill equipped to deal with fighting off pathogens. Add in stress, as Marc, points out, and we have a fairly potent brew to become ill easily. Jo, it is probable that lyme is behind most cases of morgellons, as many do test positive for it. Also there is the fact that these tests, as pointed out in the lyme/autism conference on Saturday, will not easily reveal lyme in all cases. This spirochete can hide for long periods of time. So a negative test is only that and is not necessarily definitive of lyme's presence or absence. Plus, as I have posted before, no disease will ever be one hundred per cent in every area. Even if most with morgellons have lyme, there will most likely be a small percentage who do not. best, tcm

| Hi Robert! Just thought Id introduce myself, Nat here, and welcome to this site. I read your post on the documentary and think its a great way for the world to see us and for us to be heard. Thankyou. My liver hurts sometimes. My daughter was diagnosed with an enlarged liver. At first the docs were assuming a typical liver disease, but afte test said she was fine! Then my son too. I know things are making a home in my liver and spleen. I asked them to do a liver biosy and test for bacteria, fungus, and parasites but they got all snooty at me cause it seemed I knew more than them about my condition. Doctors have huge egos. I wish I didnt say certain things at my appointments, should of acted dumb, but its hard when a person knows her own body and its cry for help. I have low white blood ct. Got a doc to investiget, he did bone test on my spine? A really long needle biopsy and retreived culture. I have hi iron deposits. They were looking for cancer. I asked for other tests but they refuse. Hi iron, my mouth tastes like metal ALOT. Anyway, good to have ya! If anyone could direct me to a post on iron deposits or a metal taste in mouth Id appreciate it. Thanks, nat |

| Hi Natalie: Here is a discussion of taste as it pertains to TCM. I will post the entire excerpt on what taste may indicate because one of the things I have noticed with morgellons is that peculiar tastes arrive from time to time. As you point out this junk is most definitely to be found in the liver and spleen. In TCM metallic taste may indicate intestinal issues. In the following SP means spleen, ST stomach, LV liver, GB gall bladder, KD kidney: Questions About Digestion Thirst, Appetite & Tastes Questions about appetite and tastes are helpful in understanding the quality of the digestive system as well as whether a person has an underlying cold/deficiency syndrome or a heat/excess one. The relationship of tastes to certain conditions are drawn from the five element theory. * Thirst: * Lack of thirst a/or desire for warm liquids = Cold Condition * Strong thirst esp. for cold liquids = Heat Condition * Dry mouth w/desire to sip liquids = Yin Deficiency * Thirst w/o desire to drink = Dampness * Appetite: * Lack of appetite = SP Qi Deficiency * Insatiable appetite = ST Heat * Fullness, bloating a/or distention after eating = Food Stagnation * Preference for warm/hot foods = Cold Condition * Preference for cold/cool foods = Heat Condition * Tastes (Based on 5 Elements): * Bitter taste = Full Heat in LV/GB * Sweet taste = SP Qi Deficiency a/or Dampness * Sour taste = Retention of Food a/or LV invading ST * Salty taste = KD Yin Deficiency * Pungent taste = Heat in the LU * Metallic taste = Intestinal Issues * Lack of taste = SP Deficiency http://www.yinyanghouse.com/theory/c...ning_diagnosis Another thing to consider is that some drugs, such as flagyl may cause this taste in the mouth. Taking excess selenium may also cause this taste. Here is a large page which only discusses metallic taste in the mouth and gives many reasons for its presence: http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/me...aste.htm#intro
