| Hello again. 'tis moi. Since we are getting information on a possible herpes connection, I wanted to bring this poll to the front again. I'm seeing the same trio popping up in my research: Herpes, Chlamydia Pneumoniae, & Cytomegalovirus. A gang. A secret club. This is a very interesting subject. Many types of herpes virus and most people have it, so I'm not surprised this poll shows positive for most who participated who actually knew they have it. A few bits of info: NEJM -- Latent herpes simplex virus in human trigeminal ganglia. Detection of an immediate early gene "anti-sense" transcript by in situ hybridization It is found in the trigeminal nerve which supplies our eyes, nose, mouth, ears, teeth....you get the picture. Trigeminal Ganglion Neuron located at the base of the skull. STIFF NECK, ANYONE? Much more later. Kritts |

| Funny how when I read articles like this one from Live Science (whatever that is) I read with one lifted eyebrow. You just never know whether the source is accurate or if there is another agenda behind the information. Wow, this oughtta make us all feel better about having some form of Herpes, WE WON’T GET THE BUBONIC PLAGUE (actually, that’s not as funny as it should be since it’s supposedly making a come-back). “The herpes viruses spur the immune system to boost levels of a protein hormone called interferon gamma "that in effect puts some immune system soldiers on yellow alert, causing them to patrol for invaders with their eyes wide open and defense weapons ready," Virgin said. As a result, the bacteria grew more slowly and were less likely to kill the mice. Future research can investigate whether these latent infections protect against other viruses.” But as I read about these herpes viruses (and evidently there are many types), so many thoughts go through my mind. One is: WHAT IF THESE IMMUNE SYSTEM SOLDIERS BECAME TURNCOATS? Reason being, I have read that many parasites actually can invade immune cells as hosts. If this should happen to specific immune cells needed to fight off other pathogens like, say Lymes, and instead welcome it in to enjoy its host? I am so amazed that there is so much information available regarding the herpes virus, for instance, and there is no cure. Amazed. InteliHealth: Eli Lilly & Co. and 3M Co. have suspended clinical trials of their genital herpes treatment, resiquimod, because preliminary data showed the drug wasn't as effective as expected. The companies had reported positive results in earlier clinical trials. There goes that eyebrow again. ;-( Kritts |

| Bytheway~ If the two people who entered a 'no' on the poll are reading, do you know FOR SURE that you do not have herpes, or do you think you don't based on the fact that you have no lip or genital lesions? There are MANY forms of herpes, so if you are not sure, please delete your vote if you can. Franky can help. thanks, Kritters |

| Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Infections: Herpesviruses: Merck Manual Professional I have tried to post additional pages from this manual but for some reason the rest of the post will not go through. This is a good place to start though, and if you look up the rest of the viruses individually they will have entire pages devoted to them. Very interesting reading. | Here is more information on herpes causes and symptoms from the University of Maryland, a pretty indepth report on Simplex 1 and 2: Herpes simplex Good chart at bottom of this page of lesser known herpes symptoms. I think many with Morgellons talk about some of these symptoms. While this is probably not the whole picture of morgellons and for some it may not even be in the picture, it is probably something to keep in mind to check if nothing else shows up. |

| Hey TC, Thanks for that info. In my experience when I began taking 3,000 mg's of Vitamin C daily, along with a good multiple and a lot of exercise I never had an outbreak. But if I wasn't taking care of myself for any amount of time, my body was acidic and I would break out. It was a very observable phenomenon for me and I could always back track and pinpoint what was wrong with me. I think an acidic blood level is not only key in that, but also all disease. (I may have mentioned that ONCE OR TWICE LOL). But then when I think Morgs or Lyme was at it's peak almost a year ago, my lips broke out in more pustules at one time than I ever had in my entire life! What was THAT all about! It was like all hell had broken loose on my upper lip! I remember posting then that I made Angelina Jolie jealous! Kritts |

| Hey TC and all, I'm focusing on viruses in general now to try to understand (good luck Kritts!!) it's modus operandi. Of course, it ain't easy without any advanced biology courses, but that's not stopping any of us, right? We will prevail! At least get some clues. Anyway, here is a paragraph I thought interesting: On the other hand, because viruses can transfer genetic material between different species of host, they are extensively used in genetic engineering. Viruses also carry out natural "genetic engineering": a virus may incorporate some genetic material from its host as it is replicating, and transfer this genetic information to a new host, even to a host unrelated to the previous host. This is known as transduction, and in some cases it may serve as a means of evolutionary change -- although it is not clear how important an evolutionary mechanism transduction actually is. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wonder if the virus and abalone got it on, ay Chester? | Hi Kritts, well yes, viruses are winding up in GMO foods and this is why it makes it so dangerous I believe, not only by eating the food itself but eating the creatures which have been fed the food. These genes from viruses and bacteria have the potential for mixing up and making new and stronger creations. Such as cancer. Antibiotic resisitant bacteria. New viruses. New bacteria. These people in la b s apparently do not know what they are doing. Plain and simple, they do not appear to know where their experiments will end up or what will happen to their "harmless" little additions/subtractions/changes to genes. They do not seem to be aware that much of what they have done may fan out and produce potent new superbugs and incurable (with the knowledge we have) diseases. Do you wonder, too, about all the antibiotic resistant superbugs? How does anyone think s/he is smart enough to play god? The American dream of "change is progress" is now on steroids, a healthy serving of transduction if that is how it works. Yeah, it would take a lot to really understand viruses, but maybe we'd better be thankful that we all don't know that much and at least are left with a modicum of common sense. |

| no my sweet and awesome friend...we've passed that point. Now we know way too much to turn back or play dumb. It's funny (not haha) earlier I posted a response to 2many with similar level of anger as you just did, and deleted it. I'm so glad to read what you, in essence relayed my thoughts regarding the frustration I am feeling. How sick is this when I would rather research viruses than go to a fun social party my friends are having? huh? I'm sorry I lost my post because it would have greatly added to yours but I'll get back to it soon. bottom line is that what a disgrace it is that people like you and I and our Morgs family have to do this research in this day and age. late, and tired, xo Kritts |

| Hi Kritts ,I was positive for Chlamydia Pneumoniae but I don''t think I was ever tested for Herpes. I do feel that tingling before a breakout Jonsi so maybe I should get tested. carla xxxx |
