Thumbs down New 2 Site & Desperate

Hello Fellow Sufferers!

I am completely desperate! This "disease" is making me crazy. My own family thinks that I am crazy, let alone, the medical community.

I have Cystic Fibrosis, also. So, I get frequent antibiotic treatments. The doctors think these red wounds all over me are MRSA. I have showed them the fibers that come out of my skin. I have "pulled" them out in front of them. They seem to think that these are fibers that got "caught up" in the wounds from my clothing, even though they may not be the same color as my clothing. I am convinced though, that the "fibers" are being pulled in by the parasites, from clothing or blankets or etc, and then kept under the skin until they let them loose. I think this because, if I wear a pair of turqoise cotton pants one day last week, I may emit turqoise cotton looking fibers a week or two later. I just can't believe these things can make the color tuqoise all on their own!

I just got off a one month antibiotic regiment consisting of several antibiotics for my lung infection and Doxycycline for my skin. It didn't do a thing for this awful Morgellons disease. I am trying several different things though. I am on a new regimen of something and I will not say what it is until I figure out if it works or not. I don't want to get peoples hopes up, like I have so many times, only to be let down. I will say that it seems to be working as of now. I am praying for this to be "the one". After all the antibiotics, the M went wild!

I have found something that does make them come out of my skin like mad, though. I used a face gel containing Salicylic Acid. The "things" went wild and started pouring out of my skin. But, it didn't get rid of them completely! I want a cure!!!!!!!!

Thanks for listening! I hope those board helps me cope!

Default To Syndney from Ohio

Hey, Sydney.

Man, can I ever feel your pain! I've had this about 7 years, and when I first got it I didn't sleep for 6 weeks, except in the bath tub. (Of course, I read somewhere that moist skin breeds this stuff - who knows it that's true - but I was covered head to toe, front a back with solid lesions). I caught it, I think, b/c I had a hysterectomy and hemmorhaged 3x and died on the last go round. Was obviously resuscitated, but was left with compromised immune system. We took a day trip to Sannibel Island on the gulf coast of FL, and I mucked around between the ocean and the bay - and didn't shower before going home. By the time I got home, I started breaking out in what looked like hives - but felt like I was being swarmed by an entire bee hive.

Unless you've been through this, I'm convinced that no one could possibly believe how much pain we're going through. Not to mention the mental breakdowns on account of being called insane by sooo many people. Probably the worst thing is having to go it alone while facing this disease that seems to be right out of a sci-fi movie!!! Too bizzare for words!

I went to 15 doctors in total - 13 of them called me crazy. They all told me "Quit Picking and See a Psychiatrist" - those words exactly from 13 doctors! One ER guy even refused to step over the thresh hold into the room to examine me - he just shouted to me "Quit picking and see a psychiatrist"! My husband of 15 years at the time - actually believed the doctors... even tho I had this junk covering my entire back!!!!!!!!! (What? Did I have a secret accomplice "picking" for me???) I almost left him because I was suffering so severely and he didn't believe me!

Doctor #14 - Infectious Disease finally believed that I wasn't doing this to myself but said they couldn't help me. They sent me to Cedar's Med. Ctr.'s head of dermatology, and he actually did a biopsy! Imagine that? They called and said I had a parasite, but they couldn't ID it. They put me on Orap - an antidepressant b/c he said that people who have this have a hard time coping w/the fact that they have a parasite they can't kill. (I later found out that my official status was "Delusional Parasitosis"... Thanks! They said they had a study group of people who have this - but when I got too pushy by absolutely insisting that they give me a name for whatever I had, they magically didn't have a study group after all! He strongly suggeted I see a psychiatrist.

Since I felt like I actually was going crazy b/c of the bizarreness of this disease, and there being no cure for all the wierdness that comes with it - I decided to see a psych. they tried 3 different anti-depressants in a 3 month period. I gained 40 lbs the first month, 30 the second and 30 the thired. ONE HUNDRED pounds in THREE MONTHS! I bagged the whole anti-depressant thing - even tho I actually was depressed after becoming a big fat cow in a three month period! At 220 lbs., I wonder if I'll ever see 134 again?

Anyway, when I was in the throws of that first attack, my brother prayed for me long and hard... and one prayer in particular was answered, much to my relief!!! He prayed that i would be encircled in a soothing cocoon of comfort. Then I read in the Bible that they put Aloe on Jesus before wrapping him and laying him to rest.

It hit me like a ton of bricks... ALOE!!!! It sure helps for sunburn, and it's natural. I got the green Bananna Boat brand - found it worked best for me. I'd spent a TON of money on every lotion & anti-parasitic under the sun and nothing worked - and most seemed to make it worse. I found that Aloe stopped me from getting more lesions and allowd me to sleep.

I'm here for you and I sympathise 100% with what you're going through!! I hope the aloe helps you.

Best of luck and God Bless!
Clara

oh, ok. thanks polly.. ive probably got it in some of the creams ive tried, but to just hear the words 's..acid' made me think drain cleaner type of stuff...haha... DOH!
ok, i just looked through my bag-o-ointments, found it.. it goes by 'acne treatment clear gel'. i got it at the dollor store, didnt work as well for me as other things, i switch between hydrocortisone and neosporin, benzoyl peroxide works when i have zit looking breakouts, when my hands ( scabies mites) break out, permethrin works, but you cant use that too often.
butt paste ( diaper rash cream) works best when i need to get the morgys out, they cant breath and will come to the surface so you can pull them out. look for the tiny airholes..
its a pain in the butt, really. but im figuring out what to use and at what times...

Default I'm in the same boat, and it's up the creek with no paddles!

Welcome, I hope you find all you need and are looking for here!!

Hi
Syndney
Wow, can we all relate to your story?!?! I am feeling fairly desperate myself in dealing with this "Stuff", and it gets harder with each passing day. But the one thing that is keeping me hopeful is I began coming to this site, coming here and relating to others who "TRULY" do understand helps somewhat, especially on those days when you feel you are just in overload and ready to give in and quit!
I've been a member here since 2008, but just these past few weeks I actually started coming here and inter- acting with others here. They have all been very nice and helpful, and totally supportive.

Anytime you need this site is open. I believe you'll find it's a good place to share, and vent. Glad you found this site and I hope it is all you need it to be!
Again, Welcome!!!

I have had Morgellons for twenty years. Only another sufferer can understand that what you are going through is real. I gave up dealing with the Medical Community. They convinced my son that I was mentally ill also. They changed their mind a bit when I was seriously ill three years ago and they saw how much of my body was affected. They don't understand it and so choose not to deal with it. I understand why they don't believe it. It is happening to me, and I find it hard to believe. It is gross. No one wants to talk about it. I am taking Aunt Sue's wild honey. It is not a cure, but cut's down on the aggravation. I also use zinc oxide (Desitin for diaper rash) on my skin. Also, not a cure but provides relief.
