| I'm not sure if this has been brought up before but I have a question for the ladies (sorry guys if this is offensive). Is a prolonged and heavy menses part of Morgellons or could it be a Herx from taking the antibiotics? I have had it now for 16 days and I'm getting a little worried. I think I'm still a little too young (42) to be menopausal and I have always been regular. I have an appointment with my doc on the 13th but was just wondering if anyone else here has this problem. Thanks |

| Thanks Carla but I haven't had any GMO foods in quite awhile. I started on a no-fat diet a month ago eating tons of fruits and veggies. I bought a juicer and have been juicing a lot too. I guess this diet change plus the antibiotics could cause this? It's very unusual for me so I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. |

| Illnesses are known to push the body's hormones out of balance. I imagine people are affected in different ways though I have never heard of a period lasting this length of time before. Could be fibroids are involved I suppose. Good you are checking it out. And I hope everything will be okay for you before that day arrives (two weeks is a long time if you have already been bleeding that long). Perhaps you could leave your name on a waiting list for cancellations in case there are any appointment openings before your scheduled appointment.

| Hi Meagan, Here is my experience, perhaps it will lend a helpful avenue to investigate with your physicians. My experience has been quite similar lately. In October of last year, I started a methylation program, and in that program one of the B vitamins my body was absolutely adamant in getting, was also a good bit of folic acid. This product contained folic acid, and in the quantities I was taking, my menses stopped altogether. I am 44. I went through all the hormonal testing, and bioidentical typing, etc, because we knew there was something wrong in past years. In a fluke happening, I ran out of this particular product. BTW, I have adenomyosis, a category of fibroids. My mother had leiomyoma (fibroids) which are fibroid formation of the uterus. Adenomysois grows throughout the uterus, where as fibroids grow within or outcrop from an area. Anywho, when I ran out of this product, and there for the folic acid, my menses started again. I got the product again, and my menses stopped. So I stopped the product again, and switched to another product in which did not have folic acid, and my menses started again. This may or may not have anything to do with your own situation, but I am curious. Anything you are doing in which may contain folic acid? Frito |

| if it continues you will become anemic. Must be a hormone swing. Quote:

| Thank you all for the replies. Actually Frito, the doctor I'm seeing told me not to take folic acid so I haven't taken any unless there is folic acid in the veggies and fruit. The only changes I have done since this started is no-fat or very low fat diet eating a LOT of fruits and veggies which I never used to do before. I am also taking Azithromiacin 3 days a week which I know is giving me a herx because when I take it, I'm deathly ill for a day or two and dread taking it again. I also take vit. B12, D, and C besides my heart med and Singular which I started taking about two months ago. That's about it. Oh, and I've lost weight almost 20 pounds since this whole thing started a few months ago weighing only 95 pounds now. The weight wasn't related to the no-fat diet because I lost it before doing that but it's not helping. I would imagine that it could be the cause. I just had a pap and it was normal. I also had an ultrasound of the uterus a few years ago and it was normal but I do have ovarian cysts. I am getting a little worried about this but can't get in to see my doc until the 13th because she is out of town. I hate to go to Urgent care especially for this but I might have to if it doesn't go away soon. It's hard to find anything online because everything says it's not an emergency but it's defiantly not normal for me and really scary. Thanks again. You guys are so great and supportive! |

| I think you need to go to urgent care. You are not just anemic you could pass out from lack of blood. This is not a sign of antibiotic use or herx that I have ever experienced. I have had this 1.5 years. I am on 3 different antibiotics now plus ivermectin and my period is short and sweet. I wouldn't wait on this until your regular doctor can see you. |

| too much weight loss too fast and too much blood loss too fast can both pose serious risks. sounds kinda like what I experienced - last year I dropped a bunch of weight fast too and had a lot of weird symptoms all at once [...right before having horrible episodes of M objects pop out of my skin by the 100s. Not fun, not entertaining and worrisome. No one could diagnose the weird syndrome so I gave up on MDs and just began doing acupuncture and making new herb TCM formulas for myself (that's my area of expertise).] nearly all the studies I read on fats use transfats, saturated fats, or heat-extracted fats. this IMO is an erroneous take on it. nutritious healthy fats are organic unsaturated cold pressed fats such as ones offered by Flora bottled in glass. They are generally the only fats I eat but I eat them a lot and they help calm down all my M skin eruptions. I am not a researcher but I would bet any money if the studies were done comparing diet with low/no fat to diet with transfats and cold-pressed-organic-seed-oils (the most nutritious fats I can think of) that studies would show the latter help, while the other items harm immunity. call the office and see if you can get in this week and if not ask for the nurse there and explain the problem. they should refer you if they cannot get you in sooner. | The one thing that helped me was my doctor put me on hormones and that stopped the heavy bleeding. you really have too get regular check ups and ultra sounds. I still have cysts. but the hormones helped stop everything. sammy |
