Default Compost bin goes awry

Hi. Zara here. I'm happy to have found this board and look forward to participating.

I was keeping 2 worm bins for home composting when they developed a fruit fly, fungus gnat and drain fly infestation. (There are many, many bugs in a bin that help with decomposition, such as Collembola, mites, bacteria and fungi). Realizing I was in over my head, I threw them out and 2 weeks later woke to some bites on my ankle that itched like mad. 3-4 weeks later the bites finally started to heal and that's when the biting and itching begin in earnest. This reached a crescendo with them swarming all the orifices of my body as well as scalp and body.

They got into my ear and caused a swollen gland with an earache. My hearing became impaired making me feel partially deaf. They got into the other ear and it rang so loud, I couldn't hear over it. They got into my urinary tract causing pain in the abdomen for two days.

This is what makes me believe that I have Morgellons, that they gained entree into the body. I've seen the little black specs, had little crystalline things come off my skin. When I put my coat on it feels like there are particles of fiberglass in my skin. I can feel them in my eyelids, eyebrows...typical Morgellons schtik.

This has been going on for two months now.

I've thrown out a ton of my belongings and still am at it. Suddenly they all are a burden. (Don't worry, I'm very careful about how I get rid of things)

Luckily, I found the site of Mr. common sense and nanotransformation.com and received guidance right off the bat. I'm all over this.

I've changed my diet completely trying to become alkaline. No sugar, no salt, no fermented foods, no alcohol...no taste.
I'm taking supplements and bow down to the coconut goddess (I think I found God and it's a coconut).

So...I am hopeful that I'll learn enough and be proactive enough, that I get well. Already I am tons better and the itching/biting is minimal (except I got reinfested today from something in my hamper!)

Isn't it amazing. I was so into compost (I was a fanatical gardener) before all this and now...I am being composted myself. Just wished they waited till I was dead to eat me!

I look forward to spirited communion with this community.

Default Damn compost

Hi Zara,

Thanks for posting your story. I will add it to our list of fly type incidents if thats ok with you.

You doing any peppermint and citronella type stuff. Vinegar is another good one.

Welcome to the crew. I sincerely hope you do nip it in the bud. Sounds hopeful!

Jo

Hi Zara (((HUGS))) I came by to show you some love. We know how you feel, it sucks. My ear infection is going away, I got some Ciprodex drops from my doctor and its helping tremendously. Good Luck dear, be blessed.

Thank you both for your welcome.
I'm not doing citronella but I'm big on Menthol crystals. I've learned you can kill the bugs externally this way. I do a lot of isolating clothes and books in large plastic bins, burning the menthol crystals overnight, then leaving them for another day in the "debugging chamber" before removing. It works.
Does vinegar really kill them? I assume you mean to use it externally.
I do use Dr. Bonners peppermint soap in the bath sometimes and as an additive to my laundry. I generally use a different essential oil in the tub each night. To keep those suckers uncomfortable.
Are you using the citronella and peppermint in the bath? I'm assuming you are talking about essential oils here, correct?

Hi Zara,

I'd recommend using peppermint oil capsules internally, if you can find them in US.

Holland and Barrett - Product details for Oil of Peppermint

Morgs hate peppermint and menthol. Yes on citronella essential oil externally. In the bath I find it drives them out, about 30 mins after getting dry. Great to add to coconut moisturiser on skin...again drives them out.

Exercise to the point of getting hot and shake off outside.

Using salt in bath or on skin in shower will also draw them out.

More stuff on me website here: Morgellons UK - Awareness Campaign 2010 - Morgellons Disease - Support: Skin Cleansing

cheers

Jo
