Default Care to share symptoms that lead up to your Morgellons?

How much do we have in common?

My story in a nutshell....

Lets see not sure if all or any relevance...but

• At 2 years old I contracted Salmonella at a Roy Rogers and almost died.
•Dealt with fatigue and weight gain around the time of puberty. Had very little energy.
•Dealt with a Polynidol cyst on my tail bone around age 17.
• Severe acne from late teens to the present (I'm 34)
• A few years ago...every month for over a year, around that time of the month, I would develop what seemed like a spider bite on the back of my legs or lower butt check area. They were terribly painful, but would go away on their own. The last one I had got really bad. I blew it off until I couldn't walk or sit without severe pain. The skin turned dark purple and the area was hot to touch. When I finally went to the dr. they sent me to the ER. They lanced it (painful as all heck!) packed it and stitched it up. I still have a scar there, but haven't had problems since. That was 4 years ago. It was labelled cellulitis/Staph infection.
• At age 24 everything kind of hit the fan. I graduated from college and got a job in a moldy building (I still work there). I started with terrible stomach pains, fatigue so bad it was an effort to talk. To function I started taking Stackers (at that time had Ephedra in them). I was diagnosed with IBS-C but all blood work turned up normal. I was moody, had terrible headaches and I had stopped giving blood, because I was sure something was wrong, and I haven't given blood since. I had little energy and experienced muscle weakness. I experienced changes in vision, my vision some days would be blurry, like i needed an upgraded contact lens prescription, with severe eye pain upon movement of the eye, stemming from behind the eye. I would swell up with water, to the point I would wear jeans that fit, only to feel like I was busting out of them at the end of the day. My legs would swell as well as abdomen, ankles and face.

• At 29 had a c-section

•Found out I am sensitive to MSG and any ingredient containing free glutamate. Eliminating them helped dramatically.

• At age 32 had anxiety, quit smoking, thyroid went from overdrive to barely working, was diagnosed hypothyroid. It was then I first noticed fibers coming from skin (but didn't know what it was). Developed bags under eyes, and would wake up with pink-eye like symptoms and oozing from eyes some days. Started to notice muscle twitching and biting feelings.

Hi Brat,
I think this is a VERY good idea. I'm simply too tired to do it right now.

Later,
Claudia

Hi Brat,,,I didnt even know I had it until I drank some peroxide(just a little),,,that activaded it to full status..
But I narrowed it down to have carried it for about a year before,I activated it,when I was exposed to a spray control for fall armyworms...
An airplane sprayed the pasture next door,,,and we got overspray in my garden..
I had developed sharp pains in my liver area after the spray incedent,,but thought it was due to beer drinkin...so I quit ,,but pains only decreased a little,,and now only dull pain,,,but constant...so I am always hurtin....
After activation I had alot of live bugs come out,,and unformed stuff,,but with better diet,,alfalfa,,black walnut,,oil of wintergreen,,neem,,tea tree,,lemons,,vitamin c tabs,,garlic,,sea salt,,olive oil,,and LYE SOAP,,,,,Ive got it down to an itch, every now and then,,but no bugs out of me anymore...
HMMM,,I wonder if beer drinkin kept it at bay???

Talking Hey Brat

I have several places/times that I could have gotten infected (or ?). About 3 years ago, I had a hysterectomy with blood given to me. Plus hospitals are notorius for causing infections. Also I was given Cipro and became allergic to it. Itching there also.

Also we live on a small farm. The farmer across the street had someone spray his land. The plane flew over our house to get to that field. So I am sure we received some of this lovely product.

My first known reaction to things, was itching. My dermatologist said I had Prurigo Nodularis. Gave me loads of cream and said stop scratching so much. Back to him again, and by that time I was digging to get out these things. It felt like staple under my skin. Was very painful at that time. Painful if you itched and painful if you did not. So, over a course of possibly a years. That went on.

Then I started researching on the internet. And before I saw this great forum, I had started to see bugs - different shapes and sizes. Sometimes they came up to do their multiplying and sometimes they worked underneath my skin. Lots of movement.

After I had been listening to all of yall here, I told my dermatologist what I thought I had. Big, Hughe, mistake. I now have a derm. that believes. I also told my husband about the "bugs" and tried to make him see them (many times). Of course he could not see anything there. So my husband took me to my family doctor, and out come the crazy pills. I was so mad, they looked and acted like I was not able to do anything for myself.

I started using some of the things I heard on this site and it helped a little. I also searched the internet again and found a doctor in my area. The beginning of feeling like a regular person. I still go to this doctor, as I am still having movement, itching, sores and of course the mental side of this disease. That part went on for 1 year.

My doctor did a blood test for mycoplasma, and mine was 3 x as high as it should have been. I love this doctor. Between yall and her, you saved my sanity and my life!!!

Hella

Prurigo Nodularis just means you are causing it by scratching. That is what they said my mother had. My husband and I were DOP. We do not go to dermatologists anymore.

Default Uh, part one?

Always sensitive to chemicals, I remember in kindergarten, they wantd us to sit at a big table and paint. I kept circling the table, but all the chairs were full, except one with a big plate of black paint (I know now that black dyes tend to be the most toxic.) When i got near it, I felt like I'd throw up, so I kept backing away. The teachers kept saying, "Sit down, sit down." So I did, and puked all over the table.

Lots of what do you call it, yeast infections in college. LOTS. Bad, bad periods. Then, after college, worked in a sick building -- made me so tired and depressed. Had a few weird episodes that were like seizures, and some like panic attacks, when I'd be in fumey places.

Then: I moved home, to finally get on anti-depressants. Age 30. I told my doctor, "Every time I go out in public, I get the flu the next day." he sent me to allergists, who said I had Environmental Illness. Avoid synthetic chemicals (good luck!)

Got an apartment near a hospital, felt AWFUL most of the time. Terrible pelvic pain, couldn't WALK, nauseated, dizzy.... turned out the hospital was burning all its garbage without a filter. I got bad endometriosis from the PCBs. Had laparoscopy, got worse, much worse. Tried everything for the pain, eventually went on painkillers.

Whoops, I'm exhausted, didn't even get to the morgellons!

Hi Everyone,
Thats what the derms pretty much tell every one. I don't know how anyone in their RIGHT MIND could NOT pick.

Two people already have spoke of spraying. Got me to thinking. At the time all this mess started, my husband and I lived in south florida on the edge of the everglades. Mosquitoes could get extremely bad. I'd call and the city would be right out to spray early the very next morning. I wonder now what is in that spray. Chemical or bio WHAT.
Something else though, I had forgot about. There is some prodject to restore the everglades. There were melaleuca trees along the highway that this project required be removed. You could see the city out there trying to remove them with bulldozers at first. I guess that was not working fast enough for them, so they started spraying by plane. This is right over our heads and people complained calling the city about it. It stopped for a while but then I noticed they were flying over in the middle of the night. I remember thinking they were sneeking doing this. I wish now I would have paid more attention to what was going on. Anyway, whatever they sprayed those trees with, they were able to come after a while and just push those trees over and haul them off. All of this was going on when we were living in small camper and on carport while our house was being gutted for mold. It was at this time the first symtoms of anxiety (I think not true anxiety) and breathing problems appeared.

Thanks for your replies. The mention of sparing is interesting. I forgot to mention that they sprayed for gypsy moth caterpillars when my family lived in NY. My mother noticed shortly after that their beagle was going blind. Something was terribly wrong because when my mother took him to the vet they said they were going to have a dog eye specialist come to the area and there were tons of people waiting in line with dogs with the same thing. In the end he was diagnosed with uremic poisoning and had to be put down. I don't know if I was born yet, I know I was three months old when they had him put to sleep...but I'm sure that couldn't have been the last time they sprayed. In NJ I know they've sprayed for mosquitos, especially since the whole "West Nile" scare.

We also had mold in our house and I work in what I consider a sick building (leaks, moldy stained sagging ceiling tiles, peeling walls with mold underneath....its gross!)I work from home when I can.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

I've been healthy all my life but I was bit by a rodent and I cared for a wild baby bird.
