Default Need Help & Friends - Sacramento Ca

This is my first post and I hope to find a lot of information and support. My mother has been suffering from Morgellons disease for a few years now. The lesions on her arms and all over her body have become disfiguring. She has seen numerous doctors just to be told she's insane. Her back teeth are starting to rot out and she is terrified. She has lost almost everyone close to her, her job, pretty much her life. Last night I stayed with her while she pleaded to me that she did not want to live anymore. I'm at a loss, I don't know how to help her. She thinks I don't believe her about what she's going through. She's scared to be around other people and this disease is completely consuming her. My mother is a very kind and caring person, She's wonderful to be around when she's happy, but she's been so deppressed the past few years that I'm starting to forget what she's like. I think she needs to see she's not alone. I wish I could introduce her to people that are going through what she is. Even if this seems like a hopeless battle, maybe finding others that DO understand and DO know what its like will give her hope for a better tomorrow. I feel so helpless and I'm hoping to find some friends, for both of us. If you are a kind listener and are looking for friends, those that will understand what you are going through. then please contact me. If you are in California, especially near Sacramento, please let me know. I want to establish a support group. I want her to know she shouldnt' fear being alive.

Hello Ireland,
and welcome to this forum. Sorry to hear your mom is suffering from this horrible disease and please let me say what a wonderful daughter you are for trying to help her in this situation. I know from my own experience how much it hurts if nothing can be done to help. Please tell your mom she's not alone with this, many, many people all over the world are fighting this monster and hopefully help will come soon. This forum here is a group of wonderful, caring and loving people willing to help eachother and giving support to all who come here. Sharing experiences, treatment suggestions and lots of news and infos are here on this site. Please feel free to ask any question you like we will be glad to help. As this disease "attacked" me I was a level-headed, humorous person and lived for my family..wanted to see everyone happy. But ever since then my life has changed....it's this disease that makes you think in circles..every single moment is full of "how can I get better?" "will help come soon?" "what about my family?"...so I know how your mom is feeling. Tell her she shall not give up...as we won't either...we need to FIGHT this and be treated as human beings by our doctors who are taking this disease seriously.
And believe me this day WILL COME!!
Unfortunatelly I don't live in California anymore and I can't attend your support group but maybe some other members here can. btw a very good idea!
Here's a little angel for your mom...
and tell her I'll include her in my prayers!

Katinka

Hi there IR916---

I'm in the 925 and while I don't get up that way much, I would be happy to communicate with you and/or your mom. You can pm me--just click on the link with my name and it will bring up my page---from which you can send a private email.

It's true that this really does rob us of our lives---Katinka's description is so apt---I feel like I spend my days and nights just trying to get through and to find news ways to get well. It's exhausting and it's lonely, but this forum really helps---even if your mom is shy and doesn't feel up to communicating, I think it's powerful to read about others experiences and to know that you're not alone.

Blessings to you for being such a loving and supportive daughter.

Default Thank you!

Thank you, there were a few that contacted me and I appreciate everyones support. I hope to learn as much as possible about this disease and hopefully bring more awareness to this problem. I don't understand how something so evil that affects so many people can go on all over the world with hardly anyone knowing about it and hardly any medical proffessionals that will even recognize it.

If you have any ideas on how to raise awareness, or if you happen to know a good place to start looking for treatment (any proffessionals that may be specializing in this or parasites or are even ackowledgin this as a disease at all!) please let me know!

Hi Ireland and Mom, your post inspired me to write this series poem for all us suffering, enjoy:

"Prayer 15 for the Victims of Morgellons and Lyme's"

Dear Lord, we are your chosen ones,
This much we know.
We have a special place in your Kingdom.
Our diamonds and emeralds will sparkle
In our crowns of gold.

Our suffering, is just a blink of Your eye,
You love us more for what we're living,
This much we know.
Let us not tarry with the time we have
Nor cry, be sad, nor wail.

Allow us get back to our lives with the living
Send down angels to bathe our worlds,
To bring us all happiness and peace of mind.
We are one with You,
This much we know.

Poet's notes: dedicated to Ireland's mom.
