Default Hello

Hello, I am hummingbird, a new member. I am not sure if this is the correct place to introduce myself, but here goes anyway.

I have had both chronic and acute symptoms of Morgellons for almost 4 yrs now. It was only about a month ago that I realized it is Morgellons. The lesions occur on my lips with a burning red ring that looks a bit like a clown smile painted on. Of course I've had many other symptoms: inability to concentrate, increased propensity for dyslexia, misspelled words, my mouth uttering a word that my mind did not direct it to, visual and body vibrations, weakness, itching/pinging electrical sensations, gastrointestinal.....etc.

I only noticed the fibers about a month ago when I began to fill the basin to rinse my lips in an effort to conserve water. I then noticed black specks coming out of my lips, frequently in twos. Then I realized there were fibers other places in my home. Black were most noticeable, but a surge of red occurred after 2 weeks of antibiotics.

My lips got extremely bad when my living situation took a very bad turn the first of Nov. There have been many social implications to my condition - some would cover their mouth in horror upon viewing me, others would just refuse to look at me. I pretty much went into hiding. I used products I made myself, and my lips were healing, but very slowly.

I have no health insurance, so was reluctant to see a doctor, until my neighbor told me about a local clinic. After a couple of weeks, a biopsy showed a bacterial infection in my lips, so the doc gave me antibiotics. I had asked for a Lyme test, and he agreed to give my something that would cover Lyme also, just in case. Later the Lyme showed negative.

I started a 2 wk course of doxycycline and a topical steroid which showed results quickly with my lip condition. Enough to where I felt I could go back into public. Yesterday I saw the doc again, and he thought my lips looked clear, but they are not. They are still red, swollen in spots and some small calluses. He agreed to continue the antibiotics for another month, but with only a once a day treatment. He told me this would probably be a chronic condition that I would have to learn to live with, that emotional response could be managed with drugs, and I could return for more antibiotics if another flare-up occurred. And I live in fear of this, among other things.

I now live by myself, with no family near by. My sister found your website - thank you!!! I read Bubba's response to Knight-Ryder, and just ordered some Eco-vie - my immense thanks to Bubba. I still have other symptoms and fibers. You are giving me hope! Hummingbird

Hello hummingbird nice to hear from you and welcome to our little community here! Actually this was the perfect place for your first post. Thank you for your informative post and yes you seem to have all the classic symptoms of morgellons.

I would suggest to check out our Morgellons F.A.Q for some quick facts.
We look forward to hearing from you again. There is lots of great information here. Make sure to read through the material and feel free to ask any questions you like.

Welcome Hummingbird! I'm sorry it took you so long to find a name for what you have. It took me a while, too (my sister also found it on the Internet) and it was such a huge relief to hear there was a name for it -- and there were places to go for help (like this site). Over the past few months I've tried a few Morgs message boards and this is by far the best, most supportive, most informative and most comforting site on the net. You're in the right place and know we're here to support you! Mary

Hello, hummingbird, welcome to the forum! We're so glad you found us and I know you will find much encouragement and hope here. As Franky suggested, definitely check out the FAQ link he posted for you. Also check the treatment steps which have been created by "bubba" and have been a source of healing for so many of us on this board, myself included.
Hummingbird, I don't know if you saw a Lyme-literate doctor or not, but if you didn't, you may want to consider seeing an ILADS doctor to explore further into the possibility of Lyme Disease in your case. It's not uncommon for a Lyme test to turn up negative. It's best to be tested through IGeneX Labs in California. They have the most sensitive Lyme test available. You can find out more about Lyme Disease and obtain a doctor referral in your area at this website, http://www.ilads.org/

Best wishes to you, hummingbird, in your healing journey.

Hummingbird, Absolutely welcome!!!! Make sure you try Bubba's treatment steps, I can assure you they DO work. I have had this for 11 years now, found this site last Fall and I have definitely had positive results from them. They do not work overnight, but I can assure you there will be positive changes towards healing. We don't have a cure yet, but this will help you lead a more noraml life.

I am so glad you found us!

I am using miracle foot aloe cream on my lessions to open the callus. Something about the chemicals softens the covering. This cream is at walmart or walgreens for $10 in the foot section. I pile it on the lesion and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then wipe it off and immediately put dry baking soda on the lesion. The baking soda will dissolve the contents of the lesion in minutes, bring it to the surface, and will begin a draining session. I use a 10x magnifying mirror so i can see what is happening inside the lesion, and angled tweezers so i can lift off the dissolved stuff. I then re-apply the dry soda, again and again. If the lesions are deep, this process continues daily for weeks or months...the soda decides when it is all drained, and in the process, the hole where this stuff lived and disolved begins to raise up to the surface level of the skin, and flatten out. This works good on the lips also. I have removed over 30 of these lessons since last summer, the empty ones have not come back.I soak bandages in silver to cover the lesions over night, and leave them open durning the day until the next soda session.

hi hummingbird so sorry you are suffering. i will just add that there is a way i cleared up my lesions on face. repeated spraying with ecovie spray bottle. fill one fifth ecovie. the rest warm water to activate. remember, spray, do not scratch. scratching the hands get effected. not to mention spreads to other places. can rub face with palms to remove the fibers. yes, takes alot of dedication, but can get your face back. here is a link for a magnifying tweezer for only ten bucks! it is called luma tweeze. be good to remove the fibers with, i hope. i have done so with a mirror, precision tweezers, and done by feel. here is link to the tweezers, have built in light and magnifyer, and also get 5x magnification mirror for free. here: http://www.getlumatweeze.com/?cid=214095 . hope this helps. big hugs and love, (LC).
