HI, my name is Jim, I’m new at this kind of messaging , but here’s my story, In 2003 I was so excited to move into my new apartment with a friend of mine Andy. I was going to college at the time and found life to be great, one day I the cable went dead and so I wanted to find out what the problem was, So I went out side to check it out, behind the back yard there was a hole mess of these strange bushes behind the back the house, where the cable box was between the bush and the apartment, so I squeezed my way through to get there and in doing so I broke some hollow branches and as soon as they broke this dust or feeling of powder hit my face, I didn’t think much of it at first but there very next day my bed felt like it was alive, something was crawling all over my body like ants, I couldn’t stop itching it was so bad I jumped in the shower, got dressed and fled to my parents house, a couple days later, after I cleaned everything, my room mate fell victim to this thing, he broke out into hives and eventually he was driven to the mental institution while the only thing I found a to get rid of this thing was by bathing in Palmolive soup, after a month my life seemed to be good and the pest never came back, so I thought in 2008 my Friend Andy tried to commit suicide. And when I went to see him he’s never has been the same. Then out of the blue the crawling in my bed came back and this time I couldn’t stop it, I came down with the flu then started seeing these fibers all over everything I own, and black specks that kept on jumping off my face and off my scalp. It’s been horrible, I had to change my doctor three times because they thought I was joking, and the 4th doctor has sent me to see a infectious disease doctor, hope he can get to the bottom of this,

So sorry to hear about your friend Andy. I hope maybe you can help him with treatments you will learn about from this forum.

May I ask you to state what area you live in? (sorry if you already did so)

Are you still near those broken bushes that you think started this thing? If so, any chance you could cover yourself in super disposible saran or something and get some samples from them? I guess since it was 5 years ago, you might not even be at the same place, but worth an ask.

Good luck with the ID specialist. Most of us have had no luck. Mine wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole and I just had arm lesions on my forearm. A word of advice: do not mention morgellons and do not offer any of your own thoughts.

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the site.I'm glad you found us .
I 've heard so many people say it started after being in contact with trees or plants.
A few were infected after cutting down trees and being covered in something from them .
I know its all over my Garden too.
And what you said about it going away and then coming back out of the blue. Thats how it was for me too.
Sorry about Andy .I often wonder how many people are locked up with DOP who really have Morgellons.
I think I would be one of them if it wasn't for this forum.

Can somebody please tell me what those black specks are. Like what Koolaidman said, they jump off your scalp and off your face. Yet when you catch one on your fingers, it does not move. Are they bugs, is it 'smart dust'? Because I am sure these are the things that are jumping off me and onto others.

Fungus.If they are the same black specks as we have here in Yorkshire-its fungus.

The black specks were sent out by the MRF for dna analysis and the results were "inconclusive". That was over a year ago. If it was fungus, dan analysis would have determined that.
If anyone follows Dr. Staninger's work, she stated that they are the "starter" structure that makes other crap. It's a nanotechnology thing.
That fits my experience. I've seen some of these with tiny little things coming out, almost like a tiny bean sprouting.

Go to Morgellons.org and print out anything you think might be helpful, including the CDC information. Have it with you for your appt, but only bring it out if it seems like the right thing to do. Having it with you will help you feel better...strange as it sounds...because if you get any treatment that makes you feel like you are being considered crazy, you will have something that you can produce.
Many people recommend that you don't mention Morgellons...but unless you think you might have something else, like Lyme Disease, I don't know what choice you really have but to be out with it.
The CDC is sending out letters to health organizations now or very soon.

While WHAT the black specks are composed of is a mystery, when magnified they look just like clusters of fibers. I have seen pictures really good ones of this on this very board. What we have grows. Perhaps they start out too tiny to see. Could this be why Morgellons patients when their blood is drawn have black specks show up in the samples later?

I also saw on here an image of a Morgellons patient bloodcells on here 10meters posted. When the cells were dying you could see black specks hatching out of one. I too have heard stories of people becoming exposed to the agents of Morgellons Disease in their garden and description of a strange powder. So you are not alone Koolaidman. I am sorry about your friend. That is awful. Hopefully you can find some useful information in here. Thanks for sharing your story.

Worried newbie question.

The Doctor has run a blood test on me and it all came back clear, if they were not looking for fibrosis/ Morgellons would they have still found something amiss?

I worked as a Gardener here in the U.K. for two years and haven't been well since. I have lots of the syptoms, plenty of black spots on my body and fibers everywhere despite the Exraordinary clean of the house i did last week.

Anti-depression and anxiety pills handed out like candy and neither of the Docs I have seen so far have taken more than a cursory look at me, despite neither of them having heard of it and the serious nature of possible mis-diagnosos.

Many thanks in advance for any info/advise.

Without knowing exactly what Morgellons is, appropriate blood tests are not possible. HOWEVER - many of us have had much blood work done over the years and there are clusters of positive findings in some of the tests. That is not to say that these tests SHOW what Morgellons is, rather they indicate what may contribute to triggering an outbreak and/or the results of an outbreak of Morgellons.
A triggering event could be exposure to pesticides or mold (tests for both are available); effects of an outbreak might be low magnesium and potassium.
Very high Epstein-Barr virus and Cytomegalovirus are very common, and one researcher claims that these viruses have been altered and used as "delivery systems" for the true Morgellons "infection", i.e., nanotechnology and virons from multiple kingdoms such as insect, plants, sealife, fungus, etc.I believe, in addition to what I just mentioned, that a list of other bloodwork that tends to show up positive can be found on Carnicom.com.

ps - gardening/soil exposure is a very common trigger - it was in my case, though I can trace low-level symptoms starting years before that. After the soil issue Morgellons "exploded".
