Thanks, Jilleemac
I toss and turn also and think that makes it worse, if it didn't cause it to begin with.
Did you ever think you could hate anything as much as this??

Yes my ex she wouldn't let me toss, turn, rollover, sing or bark!!! DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR, GET THE MRI, the xray showed nothing. Here is how the spur works, all the material that is inside the joint is either poked, or in the least scraped when you move the arm. The test of this sort of thing is when you raise your arm to the side, when you start to get the arm even with the shoulder that is when the pain will start, the higher you go the more it will hurt. I think it pulls the joint tighter together at that point or you are scraping nerves.

If it happened to me, it may be the exact cause of your problem, I found it thru insistance, it took me five doctors about 8 steroid shots and a whole lot of dam pain pills before the idiots would listen. MRI X two was the answer. Read up on joint spur or joint bone ulcer. It was so bad when I woke in the morning I could hardly move my arm!!!! Is it worse in the morning?????

One last thing the MSM can keep back the progression of fibramialga, AND also help the joint pain, if it is what I had it will NOT get better with fooling around the operation was a simple little hole and a scope with GRINDER. If you do get this done ask the doctor what kind of hobbies he has, if he is a craftsman he will certainly be pretty good, sombody like a guy that builds ships in a bottle. The guy I had was not so good he took out the spur/ulcer and then went on to make my arm joint jump and grind, that was not gods good design!!!

Barak
I haven't been to a doctor yet, hoping it would heal on it's own. It started fairtly abruptly, which is why I am inclined to think it is more of an injury than a process like bone spurs (I have many of those in my neck).
I'll make an appt this week - but no surgery for me.

Sadsack, it sounds to me very like one of the Lyme symptoms. I have pain down the side of my neck, at the back of my head and also shoulders. It used to be more joint pain, wrists and fingers, knees, but that's a lot better.. I think defintely helped by MSM.
Have you had a proper Lyme Diseasea test. One sent to the Igenix lab ??
Best luck. Hillyx

Hilly -
I had the Western blot done about a year ago - negative results. I believe that is one of the "inferior" tests. I am supposed to have it repeated soon - should I request the Igenenx instead?

Hi Sadsack... yes definitely if you possibly can.. I had my first test in a London lab that's supposed to be good, but got a negative result... Then at Igenix I got the true result and found I was positive for Lyme, ehlichia, babesia etc etc.... problem is you need a lyme literate doctor to read the results..other docs just don't understand, as they are very different to anything elee...and rely on showing the antiodies... Hilly -
You'd think the guidelines for reading the results would be included WITH the results, as they are for other types of tests! I don't think my doctor would know how to read them.
Maybe I can find another doctor just for that.
Anyone know a Lyme literate doctor in the Tampa Bay area?

No Sadsack, it's unlikely your doctor could read them, my GP could'nt and the infectious diseases chappie said they were negative !!!! You do need to find a lyme literate doctor if you can. There do seem to be more of them about now. Best luck.. Hillyx

If you get a MRI or cat scan, try to let them to just let you take a peek at it, tell them you really want to see it, one place to look is on the back of your neck, look for a pronounced (what they call) a lump of fat, it is not some (lump of fat) it is lesion/tumor central that goes up into the brain and down into the spine. If you were to go home like I did and spread 35% hydrogen peroxide on it you would see the thing show its center blood line and around that in perfect sematry there will be a circle around it.
