When did Morgellons become an official Delusional illness.
Reading this will make you cry or get angry or both.

Delusional disorders in dermatology: a brief review
Hey Carla!

These folks are going to have a rude awakening one day. I read the article, they sure do know how to diagnose delusionsal parasitosis, don't they? Or do they? From what I read in that article there wasn't a scientific approach in diagnosing DOP. There is specific criteria for that diagnosis, and it's so sad to see that the protocol is not being followed. It is very sad to know that folks are being labeled crazy or hypochondriac without proper testing.

Delusional Parasitosis-Diagnosis Of

I do hope that ALL of you are keeping copies of your medical records handy. There will come a day of reckoning, and we need all the proof we can get. Unlike these doctors, we as patients will have to prove our allegations when we get in the court room!

Carla, this article doesn't mean one thing. We all know it's hogwash. We will have to just keep on keeping on until the truth comes out!!

Dermatologists are the literal toilet paper of the medical profession. Most of them are of less intelligence than a very small primate. The whole idea of curing the skin of disease without taking into consideration the underlaying cause. We need to shelf all these type of documents so after the true nature of this disease becomes evident, then we can call them all and ask when they are going on tv to appologize, call alot bother their ability to make money at a clinic. I would like that, any number they get call it asking questions all day so they can say how they came to their conclusion, after all doctor I still think I am crazy.

A piece of paper granted by a university does not make a genius, only makes a man with paper.

I wonder if these great thinkers will feel shame at their insistance that we are crazy, when the vector is found, I doubt that the human snakes will crawl back into their holes but will just point at their paper demanding to be believed, SAD.

Thanks and I know your both right . I shouldn't let it upset but it does .
How can we reason with this level of intelligence.
It doesn't even make sense .

Conclusion - Even though these disorders are relatively uncommon, they are still seen with relative frequency in dermatology practice.
WHAT ??

I bet - these articles will get removed when the truth starts coming out .

People are sick everywhere and no one is connecting it .
Children from FEMA trailer park battle serious health problems - USATODAY.com

Did I read that right . Are people effected by Katrina still living in trailers ???

One of the most alarming findings: 41% of children younger than 4 were diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia, more than double the rate of children living in New York City homeless shelters, Redlener says.
Thats strange because I was told an Iron Deficiency may be responsible for my four year old Daughter developing the bumps on her skull. What BS that was .

Carla, I hope you will post the entire article you found in the dermatology journal, so that no matter whether or not they do erase/hide it everyone will be able to see what foolish men they were to doubt that Morgellons symptoms are real. Great line to describe these men:

"Lord, what fools these mortals be!" from a Midsummer Night's Dream.

Still it is good for us to remember, as we sort through the mystery of Morgellons:

"Wise men learn more from fools than fools from the wise."
Cato the Elder

At least some of what we discuss may help bring resolution to this illness.

I agree with you about your daughter, for I do not believe that iron deficiency anemia could cause head bumps. We all know that parasitic infections are one root cause of anemia (among others).

Default DOP Rare?

Hey all!!
After Carla made this post and I went to the link I just had a thought. I read in the link that they say delusional parasitosis is rare....but that 85 out of 100 derms are treating at least one patient with it. Hmmmm............That doesn't sound very rare to me, how bout you?

Another thing I am pondering on is this: How do they explain away the "clusters" of people with Morgellon's Disease (aka DOP as far as they are concerned)? I wonder where there is any documents or articles that are peer reviewed that "explains" clusters of physciatric conditions? And anyone with, pardon my expression, one eye and half sense would know that there HAS fo be an environmental factor involved, wouldn't they? I just can't stand the fact that they are so d*** closed minded about this!! So, if it is environmental, how in the h*** can they call it delusional? They cannot continue to ignore the facts......one day they will have to be responsible for these acts. The CDC has the statistics on the locations of everyone who has registered with this.....what are they doing with them? The fact that Kaiser Permente is doing the research because of the LARGE amount of people in California is supposed to mean something, isn't it?

Just thinking....and wondering how we could pose this question to the derms, and other doctors, that so willingly tag someone as "delusional"? And another thing, I did take their "crazy" meds, with absolutely no progress. Then I found this wonderful place and started on protocols for bathing, cleaning, doing laundry, taking supplements and vitamins, to the Vanderbilt Protocol, not to mention some alternative treatments, and eating habits!!! What is amazing is the fact that these "remedies" have actually HELPED me!!! I am probably 90% better....how do they explain such things?

How do we get solid evidence to them? Anyone have a clue? No hypothesis or theories about what it is, just solid facts about how we are treating ourselves and the amazing results we are having?

I guess this should be on the rant board.....

Niecy

PS: BTW I read the CDC may be getting a new President!! This could prove to be very beneficial to us I think!!

Gerberding, an infectious disease expert..... hmmm the ISDA who also say chronic lyme disease does not exist. I shall say I would not be the least sorry to see her go. Infectious disease doctors and dermatologists are often advocates of DOP diagnosis.

Thanks Neicy for posting this important article. Let's just hope the change of the guard helps.
