Default looking at everything...

Just for the heck of it, here is what I posted a few weeks ago I found, which is the sea lice. who knows if there is a connection, or if there are so many things that have these fibers/filaments.

I hope everyone knows to double click on pictures to enlarge them.

Default From Kammy

Kammy asked me to post this info she found about the fruit fly because she can't stay logged in this forum for some strange reason.

Below is a quote from:

Tracheopulmonary Myiasis Caused by a Mature Third-Instar Cuterebra Larva: Case Report and Review

"Most human cases of myiasis acquired in North America are caused by the genus Cuterebra, with cuterebrosis being primarily a subdermal or ophthalmologic form of infestation (4, 23). Nasal, oropharyngeal, or orotracheal myiasis cases have been occasionally reported but tracheopulmonary or intratracheal myiasis is a very unusual and aberrant form of the disease in humans."

This is an interesting article on how the Med Fruit Fly was introduced into California and the U.S.:
UC Davis Department of Entomology - News: Medfly Infestation in Dixon 'One of Many Isolated Pockets of Medfly Infestations in California,' UC Davis Entomologist Says

Here's a little info on the 'smaller' house flies from:

Fly Control - Flies, Drain Flies, Cluster Flies, Flys, House Flies, Black Flys, Fruit Flies

Little House Flies and Latrine Flies
Biology:
These flies usually appear in the early spring before the house fly has become numerous. These species are smaller that the house fly, more slender in appearance and the fourth vein extends directly to the edge of the wing instead of curving sharply upward as in the house fly. Eggs are laid in animal excrement and decaying vegetation and sometime in vats in cheese plants. The little house fly is frequently seen hovering in midair or darting about in the middle of a room. It differs from the house in that it is found throughout the house and very seldom on a spread table. This species lays it eggs on decaying vegetable matter and excrement, particularly of chickens, human, horses and cows. The larvae emerge in about 24 hours and may be recognized as a flattened, spiny organism about 6 mm long when full-grown. The pupal period lasts about 7 days under favorable conditions. The complete life cycle last 15 to 30 days. The Latrine fly, is very similar to the little house fly, but the latrine fly adult is slightly larger. Its biology and habits are also the same.

VERY INTERESTING - IS CHICAGO NEXT?

Fruit flies out of control in September in Chicago, in the resturants and sewer pipes?????

Florian flushes fruit fly infestation - The Chicago Maroon

What's the name of those black, flying 'snit' bugs that hang around sewage, sewer pipes, or septic tank pipes - I'm thinking this might be closer to the culprit?

(We need to look at Jo's 'Orange Fly'... since she's positively identified her sample.)

Here's some info to show that fruit flies from foreign countries are and have been entering the U.S. via shipments in fruit and olives, as examples. The last one tells what happens in a human infestation - please post what you feel is appropriate:

Fruits in shipments to the U.S. from foreign countries contain their species of fruit flies:

Florida Entomologist, v. 78, n. 3, p. 502

Here's some info on the "Olive Fly" which includes a little about its life-cycle:

The Olive Fly - control measures, life cycle

Parasites.

The fly bites and sucks blood, once the parasite enters the body. ... is very high in much of the third-world tropics-which are regions hardest hit by ...

Exclamation Warning!!!! Explicit Material!!

Hey Kritts, Joey, and Kammy!!

I just want to put my two cents in here too. Kritts, which one of the pics show the hooks or spikes? Looking from left to right? You all know I have always believed a hookworm is involved in at least my illness.

On another note....Jo, I don't know if I have ever posted it on the board, but I did have a fly to come out of a lesion in my right ear, early on in this illness. It came out of my ear, and there was immediate relief, but it was actually a worm, wiggling very furiously, it was black with a white band around each end.....actually I would lean more towards it being a cocoon instead of a worm. The reason I say that is it was fat in the middle, and narrowed down to nothing on both ends, and was identical on both ends.

When it fell out, and this was probably my worst lesion at the time, it landed on my leg. I had jeans on, and when I saw it I almost passed out. I saw it wiggling so violently and automatically put my thumb on top of it to avoid losing it. I had to hold my thumb on it for about a whole minute before it stopped wiggling. When it stopped, and I was sure it was dead, I looked and it was a FLY!!!!! This is the truth so help me God!!! My daughter witnessed the whole thing....although she refuses to talk about it, I am afraid she thinks everyone already thinks I am nuts, and she doesn't want to add any fuel to the fire.

Well.....that ain't all. On the night before I was to go to this "highly" recommended dermatologist, I had gotten out of the tub and was bent over by the vanity sink drying myself off. I had been very uneasy at my stomach for quite sometime. As I was drying off this "stuff" came up the back of my throat. I had to get rid of it, and was too far from the toilet, so it went into my sink. It is a white porcelain sink so what was in it was very visible, and ya didn't need a microscope to see it. I will pm ya with all that as it is a bit graphical. BUT, it totally correlates with a post you made earlier on this thread.

So....anyways, in my other ear I kept getting this clear gel looking substance, which I suspected even then was some kind of larvae. This was very early on in my illness, and those two things alone should have been critical making a diagnosis....but, the doc came in the room already having me diagnosed....with his pamphlet in tow, and diagnosed me with DOP. Needless to say I was dumbfounded, and still didn't have a single clue that these docs were absolutely not interested in finding out what was wrong, and were even probably protecting each other to boot.

He threw the "samples" I brought in into the trash.....and I didn't have enough sense to get them out when he left the room. That is the very day that this real nightmare began for me. I had been very sick before that day, and was actively seeking help, but not in my wildest dreams did I know where it would all lead me.

Also, there were many possible vectors in my home when this began. There was moths, crickets (two kinds), centipedes, and gnats, and also flies. Mosquitoes also. I found literally thousands of "fuzz balls" in my home. I found what looked like cocoons, I found black things under my mattress cover that MOVED, they were about a half inch long.

I can't recall every single thing right this moment...but as you all know, the list goes on and on.

One last thing Jo. What you said about the immune system, my doc that is treating me for Morgellon's, said the EXACT same thing! He doesn't know what this is....he has his own theory, and I think he is partially right, but very wrong on some of his thoughts. He does keep up with the protocols though, and has been a God-send for me.

Ok....that's probably more like 15cents....but just had to tell ya!!

Love to all!!
Niecy

Default One More Thing

Jo,

One more note. When I was seeing the Professor of Parasitology he made a list of possibilities. I can't find the piece of paper he wrote them on, but I remember a few of them. He wrote Myasis down 1st. It to him seemed to fit the symptoms best, but, it's not supposed to happen in America..........

Then I know he wrote down Shistosomiasis, and again, NOT supposed to happen in America!!

And the only other one I remember.....Leishmaniasis, and once again......well, you get the picture!!! There was three or four others.....

I will tell you all again though, I am sure I mentioned it somewhere. This doctor is a Jew, he is teaching at a university in Tennessee, and has been a professor for over 40 years. He personally told me that the Tiger Misquitoe, that carries Malaria, and had been irradicated in the US, had been found in Memphis, TN at the time, over 5 years prior. He told me he had personally seen thm. He said it was his opinion that it had came in on a container ship to the port in Memphis.

This is a very highly educated man, and has been in parasitology all of his career. He also found in many of my samples that he examined, what he "thought" was a horsehair worm. Once again, this isn't supposed to happen to humans, anywhere. He put one in a container of formaldehyde and gave it to me. He wanted me to have it analyzed by someone who could document it. I still have it, and don't even know what to do with it.

This man was very intrigued by the whole thing. One more thing, and I realize this is all sporadic, but I will forget it if I don't tell ya now. I found a large solid black fly in my bathroom that I took to him. It was dead when I found it. It's wings were longer than it's body. At first glance he said it was some type of wasp. I asked him if he was positive about that, that I thought it was a fly. He looked closer, and said, yes it definitely was a fly, albeit, one that he had never seen before. I wonder how possible it is that this well traveled professor of parasitology had never seen this particular fly? I know he was being honest....so there is but one conclusion in my opinion. I will let you make your own.

He told me I had the most intriguing samples he had ever seen......that also said alot to me. The downside of it all is that a so called friend f***** that all up by telling my primary care physician who this man was. The very next time I spoke with him he said he had lost my samples........

I had PROMISED this man that I would keep his name out of it if he would please help me. He was VERY excited to be getting all my samples........may God forgive her, and help me to also. It is very hard.....

Just wanted to let ya know. If you need me to help you in anything Joey, please let me know.

Niecy
XOXOXO

PS...please forgive the spelling, I am in a hurry. Gotta go pay some bills before they turn everything off!!!

Default Wooaaaahhh

I'm gob smacked with all these posts all of a sudden!!!! Great work Kritts, Kammy, Niecy, Matt

I'm about half way through drafting research, which will include some very interesting video footage and snaps. I've made an online library of myiasis journals, which I can give access if you pm me with an email address.

This is open to anyone that wants to help and can concentrate long enough to pick out some highlights and report back.

The orange fly is Cecidomyiidae - a plant gall gnat - its been seen by Jonsi, Robin and myself at least. Pretty small and rubbish flyer, but has very unique reproductive capabilities.

The small black midge maybe the central culprit - seen by Ninja and lots of people. It flies VERY quickly. Matt - people do see glimpses of it like you say. I think its too small to be a fruit fly. I've got one under my scope right now.

Well, we've been talking about the sewer pipes and close proximity to sewage treatment plants for some time now, haven't we?

Some common denominators are getting heavy.

I hope Franky sets up the poll extension soon so we can see what other commonalities we share.
