I honestly dont think its a co-incidence that morgies see small flies darting about.
I also dont think its a co-incidence that 75% of known human disease genes have a recognizable match in the genetic code of fruit flies.
Fruit flies (Drosophila) are the only ones that have had their full genome matched, other species of small fly are likely to have very similar proteins that cause disease.
Could folks have a look on window sills and up-lighters to see if any small flies are there...if so, could you keep a few in an air tight container?
I will be post a link to my fly larvae, micro-myiasis research shortly.
cheers
