| Have people seen this story? It sounds exactly Like Morgellons. It's from 2003 but does not say it anywhere in the story so it will not show up if you search for it! http://www.safe2use.com/pests/scabie...gridof/030.htm The whole thing is several pages long and had a lot of details about the treatment. (I did not post it because it has a theory about origination in China. Just symptoms.) (I am not here to make judgements.) Here is the intro paragraph: "" Medical Write up for Mr. X - His story of treating skin parasite(s) Strongylus monospinigerum - (temporary name given for this in China) General description: An unidentified organism, which is infesting more and more homes across the country. This particular creature apparently houses itself in lint-like fibers which it seems to weave into a tiny ball, like a nest or cocoon, and contacting human skin via floors or clothing, bores into human tissue to take up residence in the body. (Regular laundering with hot water and detergent apparently do nothing to kill the organism in clothing). Once in the body the following symptoms result: - Open itchy lesions on the skin appear (from tiny holes to many millimeters in length) - Intestinal discomfort begins or slight anal discomfort - Straight red lines (track marks) just under the skin are sometimes seen - A "crawling" sensation is repeatedly felt on the skin and scalp, although nothing is visible to the naked eye - Fatigue and lowered resistance to disease develops over time - Localized muscle pains occur - Sharp, painful tinges in tissue are felt - Blood (reddish brown) spots can be seen which over time move from deep tissue areas to the surface of the skin Upon recent investigation by Microbial Diagnostics, Inc., the following was observed concerning selected samples of the lint-like balls: .... to be continued. | Seasprite, This is amazing. Where ever did you find this link? You know, I've suspected this parasite originated in China. Living conditions are despicable there and we import just about EVERYTHING from China and DO NOT CHECK FOR SANITARY CONDITIONS WHEN PRODUCTS REACH OUR COUNTRY!!! Thank you so much for this information. Kritters |

| Thank you, Seasprite! And considering that our inspectors are not medically trained, I doubt they'll even know what they're seeing. Don't you miss those made in the USA towels, Kritters....ones that you were actually allowed to bleach and wash in hot water? *sigh* BB |

| Yes, have seen this article before on the http://www.safe2use.lightjump.com/ site and it looks as if since the last time I read it (over a year ago) there has been a lot more added to it. This site carries the first enzyme product I ever used. I personally like the EcoVie better for bathing, but then have not tried safe2use's new improved version, so cannot comment on that one. http://www.safe2use.com/safe-products/ECP/about.htm Bought this product when I did not know of any others out there (2005). That, borax and epsom salts were all I knew to use back then for bathing or cleaning (I see bubba did not join here until 2006 and so doubt if the treatment steps were developed at that time). Sorta stumbled along with the help of a friend who gave me heavy duty TCM herbs for the extreme toxicity I was experiencing at the time and we experimented with a lot of other herbs from the West, South American as well as some other cleaners. I have long suspected much of this parasite invasion (including the explosion in lice and the more recent addition of bed bugs) has been coming in from third world countries everywhere. Why I am not too happy there is no screening folks for health before permitting access to settle elsewhere. I think governments in the developed world are too complacent that the drugs they have will cure anything. And parasites they do not seem to believe are something which are spread from the third world influx. I think they are very wrong. One way to protect those already in a country is to do as governments did in earlier times, and that is screen health (they screen animals more carefully than they do humans). Not politically correct, but it may prove necessary at some future date (if it is not already too late--such as the recent entry of Chagas disease, originally found in countries further south but now being added to the blood supply--happy thought).

| Yep BB, I surely do! I bought something from Bed Bath and Beyond last week and it had a tag on it that said, "made in USA". I almost dropped it from shock!!! Wow! A collector's item!!! Looks like Global Trading is really biting us in the butt. Literally! ![]() Kritts |

| TCM, I'm not sure if your sentiment actually falls onto the "politically correct" fulcrum. Really, this problem doesn't stem from any single race or religion. Accounts of tragic introduction of disease can span centuries! In the 16th century, the Spaniards are thought to have introduced smallpox to American indians (theories may vary). The Taínos alone payed a heavy price. The black plague that robbed much of Europe a third of its population is thought to have originated from Asia. Captain Cook's crew introduced cholera, measles and gonorrhea, decimating the Hawaiians. No one's certain where Syphilis started, but some thought the illness came from the new world and was brought back to Europe (some hold that Hippocrates described encountering the symptoms in early Greece). Many legends that have roots in times before written history may actually describe tragic outbreaks and given attributes of divine interference by angry gods. Any way one looks at it, the ease of travel raises the possibility of unintentional exposure. Albeit screening may not prevent all tragedy, it can avert some. I think we have to face the fact antibiotics do not free us from disease. BB |

| Looks like Safe2Use reopened their scabies forum in a new format. It was shut down for many months because of spammers. This is the board I first was an active part of when I was dealing with scabies. Nice to see it reopen. I do love their enzyme cleaner. It lasted me 2 years.
