Oh the brain power that writes our newspapers!!They haven't even got morgs as an excuse!! Below is a selection of misprints etc that hopefully some of you will get a laugh from. I have put correct word in brackets where needed as I know we sometimes have a prob....given that we speak a different language.LOL.
'In a report of a competition recently we stated that it was for 'elephant' grandmothers instead of elegant grandmothers. We apologise to Mrs xxxx who gained third place for any embarrassment caused'
'Due to a printing error we referred to athletic coach Billy Hogkins as an 'old waster'.This should have read of course 'old master'.Apologies to Mr Hogkins'.
'Due to a printing error in advertising it led to Binswood school being described as serving 'children casserole' instead of 'chicken casserole'.
(that would have given a few salmonellaLOL)
'The bride was very upset when one of the small attendants accidently trod on her brain and tore it' (Train)
'Arthur Kitchener was seriously burned on Sat afternoon when he came in contact with a high voltage wife'. (wire) (puts a whole new meaning on If ya can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen)
'Police in Hawick called off the search for a man who is believed to have frowned after falling in the River Teviot' (drowned)
'The skeleton was believed to be that of a saxon worrier' (warrior)-(wonder if he bit his nails??LOL)
'Due to an error, after an inquest into the death of Mrs xxxx we stated that she was found dead with a bottle in her left hand and a plastic bag over her head. This should have read 'a Bible in her left hand'.Apologies for any distress caused to the family.'
'The strike leaders had called a meeting that was to have been held in
a bra near the factory but it was too small to hold them all' (bar)

FROM ADVERTS:
'Children shot for Christmas in the home'-Regent Photographic Service

'Lesbian,35,non smoker, loves horses seeks same for friendship'

'Lady 65,reasonable looks,medium build,likes short walks,outings and the occasional drunk'.(drink)

'Rotherham Council:Crematorium assistant required.The council operates a no-smoking policy.'

'Male seeks doom in central flat.Phone 0141.... (room)

Default This is important....but oh so hard

My heart is heavy today as I post that our friend “Pat” - from the UK, lost her fight with lung cancer on Thursday, March 2, 2012. Several years ago a shadow was discovered on one lung, but not confirmed as cancer. She seemed to be fine until a few weeks before Christmas 2011. Lung cancer was finally diagnosed in January. The disease progressed rapidly.

Some of the old timers here may remember her best for this thread - “What a year, What a life” - It is a riot and illustrates some of how fun, witty, charming & delightful she was - always made me laugh just describing the simple issues she faced in life. I find it a bit ironic that looks like rocklady (also me) was last to post on this thread - the post was a little joke Pat & I were playing on some folks at the time.

She was a strong gal, but had a very delicate, tender heart. She was genuine – the real deal.

One of her greatest pleasures ( & hours of hard work) was keeping chickens over the years –just last fall she installed new huts & added 20 ex-battery rescued chickens to her brood. They arrived in poor health & nearly bald. Within 6 weeks of her tender loving care, lots of good food which she spent hours preparing, & good supplements she brought them to peak health & fully feathered. Pat’s eggs were highly sought after & treasured by her local friends. All this effort done out of a love for animals of all kinds while suffering Morgellons and having had a heart attack in 2003.

For no particular reason at the time ( March 2011), she emailed me a few song links which now seem so apropros. I have forgotten my rocklady password, etc so had to register with new id today, therefore, I am unable to post direct links to these songs. Hope you take a few moments to listen to these on youtube.

google “ ronan keating - I hope you dance”
google “Leann Rimes – Please remember”

PAT, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE & REMEMBER YOU MY DEAR, PRECIOUS, FRIEND !

Default Pat's First Message

What a wonderful sense of humour she had. All she was going through and she still could make us all laugh. xxxxx

For the first time ever I discovered Red Mite or I THINK it was, in one of the chicks huts.Started spraying the hut with everything to get rid.Seemed to be getting on top of that when I discovered them in the house (as I thought)So I had my friendly rat man call in and spray the house and I started cleaning, mega cleaning.I found a 'nest of fibres' in a light fitting, mmm didn't know red mite did those. Then a black hair jumped into my hand. Then I discovered little grey grubs under my chair.Something laid eggs behind my ear, something else burrowed into my nether regions.OMG I must have scabies-off to doc with tunnels on my arms and 3 navy blue tunnel things on the other arm.Doc says she wasn't convinced it was scabies but use Derbac and that will sort whatever it is.No it didn't.Then horrors! My other half had his goolies bitten(much amusement among my friends)and I could not stop them bleeding-and lets face it you can't apply great pressure there So I dropped some lemon essential oil on and left him to get on with it.
Then on Weds he went down with some sort of nasty bug and has never left the toilet and bed since.Am telling you this is dreamcatcher come to life.I'm here just getting bitten and these nasty little hairs jumping in my hands and making them very dry and painful. My pc has got them even the washer and breadmaker in fact they are everywhere. Nothing has killed them except an old tin of flyspray containing one of the organophosphates which have been banned here.Sadly i only had the one tin.Oh yes I have them in my hair as well.Don't know how I'm going to cope with this. The garden is full of em and the bed is full of little blue dots.I had a pest firm in and the guy has been in it 20yrs and said he's never seen anything like it.Where they have come from is a total mystery but I do hope they visit my grotty neighbour Miss Piggy
I dread going back to the doc who will prob section me.They keep attacking my nose and I managed to catch a couple (ugh) before they got right in.When I feel a crawling on my face I wipe a cotton ball soaked in toner around my face and the tiny blue fibres can be seen.So thats my sad story-and with my luck I'll win the lottery this week now I'm too knackered to enjoy it ???

Thanks, RL, for letting those of us who enjoyed Pat's humor and her posts to know about her recent passing. She was good people, plain and simple. She will be missed by many of us here who laughed with her, especially on this thread but also on the phone. She was never one to feel sorry for herself despite the seriousness of Morgellons, a trait I admired deeply in her. As Carla says, she made us all laugh. And to her dear friend RL, what a touching and heartfelt epitaph you made to her. RIP dear Pat...you are loved. And will always be remembered in the hearts you touched.

Default What a woman

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news about Pat. A fitting tribute RL, I know she cared for you greatly.

Thank you Pat for taking me under your wing - showing me MDR and how to treat my skin and manage through those dark early days. Thank you for all your support to others, and for giving your time for anyone in need.

I will always remember your laughter, warmth, fighting spirit and that photo you asked me to post....

Love always
