| You could look into herbal formulas. Here is one site which explains the Dr. John Christopher treatments for eyes. Do not know if it would work, but it might be worth looking into. This site explains the use of most commercially available Dr. Christopher herbals. This man lived in the West, was a well known herbalist (Mormon). Anyway the herbals are sold by several other sites (there is no way that the use of herbs may be advocated or usage discussed on the sites which sell them--otherwise there would be trouble from the FDA. Too bad this rule does not apply to pharmacuetical drugs as well, for with no directions with the pharmaceutical medications more people might avoid using them--sorry, I just hate the extensive use of drugs in our culture, as it is so harmful in the doses so many folks use). http://www.herballegacy.com/Eye_Ailments.html There are numerous sites which sell Christopher formulas. One is: http://www.drchristophersherbshop.co...tml/index.html If using the herbal eyebright formula extract as an eyewash get directions for use as the herbal legacy site looks as if it has been recently changed. I know if the extract is used as an eyewash it is to be diluted in distilled water. For some reason it looks as if the directions for exact use have been omitted for some reason. So be very careful as the eye is delicate and you do not want to burn them. Usually the herbs work better if the herbal eyebright formula is also taken internally, either as a tea, capsules or extract. Tea is the stongest, but it has to be cooked properly. And taken as directed. The cut and sifted herbs are used to make tea. It can be bought at the site above in bulk. As I say all herbs must be correctly prepared. If too difficult the extract is the next stongest way to take it (diluted in water). Capsules of the powdered formula are the next in strength, and are easy to take. Other formulas for the eyes are discussed on the herbal legacy page.

| How Fatty Acids Affect the Eyes EFAs are connected with visual development in infants. Deficiencies in adults (particularly omega-3) can lead to impaired vision, and studies suggest that prolonged deficiencies might lead to retinal/macular damage. A study published in the August 2001 issue of Archives of Ophthalmology found that omega-6 fatty acids were associated with an increased risk of advanced macular degeneration, but that omega-3 fatty acids protected against it (as long as LA intake was low). Meanwhile, a 2003 study found omega-3 to decrease your risk of developing dry eye syndrome, and other studies have found that LA and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) improve dry eye symptoms. The body converts both types of EFAs into prostaglandins, whose functions include helping the eye's aqueous humor to drain and regulating intraocular pressure.

| Go to whole foods or vitimin shoppe and get a bottle of the brand Sovereign Silver, 2 oz about $12. I use this daily, and it is safe and effective. I dont know if this will reverse the condition, but it sure will if it can.....and will not hurt to try. My dog lost his site, and with about 4 applications of this daily, his sight came back and the vet later said there was no disease, no infection, no swelling. I was so afraid to try the silver, and since then i have seen many situations reverse quickly. |

| I have put the eco-vie in my eyes and so has Mary. I would spray directly into them. Mary got advice from bubba to have a bowl of eco-vie and keep flushing eyes with it. This is a topic I have been trying to research for years. If you have neck or nerve problems this can effect your eyes too. Cool cloths to relieve the pressure on the back of your neck and over eyes can relieve pressure. How scarey to lose your vision completely. I have tried all the herbal and vitamin supplements for years. I like the similason eye drops for pink eye. They are sold at walgreens. My sister was having vision problems that the doctors could find no rhyme or reason for. Later and eye doctor nurse told her she had a virus that attacked the optic nerve. |

| Another comment on vision in general according to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The eyes in TCM are connected to liver function. So there could be something going on with the liver in this condition. Just a thought. Some herbal formulas to cleanse the liver could be looked into as well (these herbs are at the height of effectiveness in the liver season, which is in the spring). Herbs can do some pretty powerful things, if not to cure, at least to help control symptoms. Worth getting help from someone knowledgeable in herbs, no matter what tradition (Western, TCM, Ayuvedic) IMHO.
