Default From Louisiana with Morgellons

Hi,

I live in Louisiana and introduced myself on the Introduction board. I have had Morgellons for several years and it is hard for me to talk about it. The main way I get through it is pushing it as far back in my mind as humanly possible and not speaking much about it.

Morgellons is very bad on my head, but I think the worst place I get it is in my ears. The only thing that helps with that is peroxide.

I have been to doctors with no help. I shaved my head recently and when I message some of the sores and put medicine on my scalp, I have noticed some springtails falling into the sink.

I have some pictures of my scalp and a springtail but I don't know if that is appropriate to post on this website.

I have a hard time understanding this disease and wish so much doctors would try to help us. I have not found any help in Louisiana.

Hi Carla,

I have not been to the site you were speaking about. I would like very much to have the link. And a doctor who truly knew something about the entire thing and tried to help would be wonderful. Thank you so much.

Rumble doll,
I was going to tell you Suzzies mom also has collumbola when I saw that earlier today, but she saw your post also. Your post got me looking it up and there are posts on the web that incinuate human infestations, so obviously people are reporting it. I read that they HATE chlorine. What would swimming in a chlorinated pool do?????
Welcome, and hopefully finding this site will help you get some relief. I know stabbing in the dark with treatment attempts and getting nowhere, along with feeling helpless was very depressing.
People her do their best to actually help and the information is good. There is no need to spend hundreds on trial and error re-inventing the wheel- people here will tell you what has worked for them if they have found something.
Linda

Hi RumbleDoll.
I also love your name! Welcome to our community, you will find tremendous help here! Please do follow the treatment steps as closely as possible, you have to treat internally, topically, environmentally and laundry. If you follow the steps you will feel better - I find the eco-vie unreplacable as far as it's role in recovery - I flush my scalp with a garden variety spray bottle over the tub, and they all bail! DSP and AmLactin are good also.

Welcome again

[left]Carla, Suzzie, Linda, Hummingbird,

Thank you all for the warm welcome

Carla and Suzzie, thanks for letting me know about Bubba's site. I printed out some of the info there and will have to make a trip to Wal Mart.

Bubba was nice enough to send me a list of doctors. The ones that believe in Morgellons however are in TX and there are problems with going that far. I saw Dr. Harvey 3 times in 2003 (I had already had this for 2 or 3 years). He diagnosed me as having Lyme Disease and I had the test by Igenex and it turned out Equivocal, but he said I had Lyme. He had me on antibiotics while I was seeing him.

The problem was, it was very hard to go so far. Dr. Harvey's office was six hours or so from where I lived. My hubby was very grouchy about having to go there with me (he is not bothered with this disease). He didn't like all the traffic and it meant spending a night in a hotel.

Anyway, I decided to try a different doctor here. She said she had heard of Morgellons and had even been to a conference about it. However, I don't know if she really believed it all or not because she just started trying to treat the positive EBV.

I've been to quite a few doctors over the entire course of this. The last one being an infectious disease doctor who was quite a jackass

I'm trying to decide if I should try to bring up to my hubby going to TX again.

Linda, I don't know about the chlorinated pool. I wouldn't go swimming in one for fear I would give this to someone else, but it would be interesting to hear from someone who has.

Hummingbird, is the Eco-Vie something I can find at Wal-Mart?

Thanks for the compliments on the name . It is a song by Patti Scialfa:

Though my party dress is torn
I can still walk and talk and cry and crawl
I've got no one on my arm
I am just a

welcome rumble, yeah we have one thing in common, a good doc you have seen. clinic closing at end of july here. i am trying to see if can get into a vaccine trial, i know no details yet. my doc told me have had success with this vaccine in a study in london, and he plans on this himself. however, my clinic here closes at the end of july, my doc's patner is too sick to practice from multiple heart attacks strokes in past few years.the treatment steps help alot. i have not been ill with morgellons disease long, just since last september (2006). however, has not been much fun for me at all either. i wish you the best, will not be on much for time being in here but shall be as soon as i can on a regular basis (LC).

Hey Ladycolorado ,

Sorry to hear the clinic you are going to is closing. Too bad your doctor doesn't know another doctor who can help.

I haven't heard of the vaccine study. It would be great if there was a vaccine that would really work for this. Does your doctor have Morgellons? I was wondering since you said he plans on the vaccine trial for himself. Anyway, if it's a good vaccine, I hope you are able to get into the trial.

Please post what happens and best luck to you as you fight this.
