Just wandering how many people had vaccines or shots before getting Morgellons. 1) Did you get all your childhood vaccinations? 2) Did you get booster vaccinations as a teenagers or adult? 3) Had you had a recent flu shot before getting Morgellons? 4) Had you had any other injections besides the ones required to go to school? 5) Have you had any other medications that would be considered unusual before getting Morgellons (like the TB subcutaneous test) or others like it? ![]()

Tri, I think most people my age (61) HAD to have all the vaccinations if we went to school. As to the unusual injections, no. Same with medications. As to the flu....when people get Lyme and other tick borne illnesses, it usually manifests with flu-like symptoms. Before this, I was a healthy horse. The one thing I did get later in life (around 40) was herpes II (an announced gift from my ex husband. Gosh I still can't imagine why I would have divorced him ...and thinking back, I developed a weird slight case of bells palsey on one side of my face which eventually left. That year, I also had my first sinus infection. I was so sick and had no idea what I had for 3 weeks until I went finally to a doctor. Until then I was so healthy, I didn't even have a doctor I went to for anything. However, that being said, this is also around the time (late 70's..80"s) when Lyme was being discovered I believe (damn....I hate to have to check back on the true facts....I don't want to be like Cliff on Cheers, you know? so... I probably shouldn't speculate so much out loud) I always welcome correction. Kritters p.s.....your being a nurse, can you think of any common denominator/s that would pre-dispose nurses to developing Morgellons?

I didn't realize my cord became detached to my computer and I lost a lot of additions I wrote to the above. One thing, I did also have herpes 1 as a child....never chickenpox when everyone else got them...so it could have been a strain of chicken pox (which is a herpes virus) I had a few finger warts and ADD (which I believe all to be related, since my son, who probably had it passed to him had the same things and my daughter did not) Kritters

A common denominator for nurses getting Morgellson? Yes we touch everyone and everything for everyone. We go in when others wont. We clean any and all orifices and openings, all wounds, all drainages. We work in old buildings with huge ventilation systems. We touch fluid from vaccines, injections, creams, ointements and powder from all the drugs. The list of possibilitiesn is crazy and staggering....very scary too. I was also healthy as a horse all my life. I had strep throat at age 7, 8, 9 cant remember and then nothing after that until after I had my first child 1986 when I got my first sinus infection related to heavy smoking. But I asked the question about vaccines because reports say Merck is the one who disseminated the AIDS virus knowingly because of the all mighty dollar and that Bayer recently diseminated I cant remember something else really bad that America would accept so they sent it to England to give to child hemophilacs...there are a lot of doctors in England in jail for deaths but no Bayer executives. Vaccines Vaccines Vaccines we need to look at vaccines which ones and what part of the country you were in when you got them.

| I don't think vaccines are involved in my case, but I know someone who is convinced that she got Morgellons from a flu vaccination. I am thinking that Morgellons develops slowly, over a period of years and certain exposures. At some point, a given exposure (mold, dirt, mites, vaccinations, etc) and we reach a tipping point and all hell breaks loose. I can trace back many symptoms over many years, things that at the time seemed weird but not especially troublesome....or they were, and were accounted for in other ways (like I was diagnosed with MS years before Morgellons exploded). | Like Kritters, I am 61 and had "my share" 40-50 years ago. Really not anything for at least 10 years, in that dept. Three years ago I had MUCH exposure to dirt. I spent the whole summer digging up the lawn and redistributing shovelfulls of dirt to try to stop erosion. No gloves, wearing sandals, always in the dirt. That's when my first crop of lesions appeared on my legs. Then I had a bird mite infestation the following summer, and all hell broke loose. The lesions that I got that time were different from the leathery-scabbed ones from the summer before. These were like ulcers. I was also on a lot of medications for MS and other diagnosed conditions. SS |

Sadsack... mine came after exposure to infected compost and bird mite infestation too, plus too many pesticides... and the fact that I already had Lyme tho' I did'nt know it at the time... H

You know, I used to dig in the dirt with no gloves or shoes for gardening. Duhh uhhh....I had been under the impression that the good ol' rich earth was our friend. Say hallo to mye leetle fren................... Sad to say, people today aren't any more informed about such things. Kritts

Regular mandatory vaccinations in the late 50's/60's. I saw in my vaccination record that I was given the MMR 2x one more additional time than required (in my mother's handwriting it just said first one didn't "take")... whatever that means? Then in the 90's I was forced to have all 3 Hepatitis B vaccines or else I could not attend nursing school. Since my Medical records from childhood are gone, I have to have my antibodies for Measles, Mumps, and Reubella checked or else get a booster when starting a new nursing job. Last June I had my MMR antibodies checked and they were "thru the roof" if that means anything. I certainly didn't need a booster and I would not have if I did. But I do wonder if the LARGE AMOUNT of those MMR antibodies interfere in anyway?
