| I'm curious to know how many of us had any kind of surgery (including dental) prior to Morgellons symptoms. Although I said 2 years, I meant 2 years within beginning to have any symptoms of Morgellons, WHENEVER THAT WAS, NO MATTER HOW LONG AGO. MAKE THAT 5 YEARS!!!! I think botox treatments or any other treatments requiring breaking the skin with an object and inserting ANYTHING into the skin should count as a YES. (This includes giving blood or taking blood samples). Thanks, Kritts Last edited by Kritters; May 7th, 2009 at 12:47 AM. |

| I am curious to know if surgery is safe AFTER Morgellons. I had 3 Co2 laser procedures over the spring on my face and broke out with so much acne each time. It was morgellons acne. My face now has less hyperpigmentetion..all those freckling areas are gone. But the acne gave me red spots. I always get Morgy-acne where botox injections are applied as well. One of these days I may want a lower face lift and worry about the effect of Morgellons and surgery....If I am going to die young, I may as well look it!! lol! Naw, hopefully I will live a longer time than I think... |

| That's a good point, Sudio... I think surgery WITH Morgellons might shake them up, but who knows how it will affect you. Some believe that the trauma of surgery (or other types of trauma) could actually activate Morgellons. I'm wondering about the bacterial aspect of surgery. Since so many people in the medical profession (especially nurses) have Morgellons, I wonder why that is. One thought is inhaling fungal spores. I also wonder if it is MANDATORY for doctors and nurses to become immunized through vaccines (another question for a poll). Kritters |

I guess I should have included INJECTIONS with the poll. I would consider that surgery in that it is breaking the skin and inserting a needle and other substances into your body. Any other thoughts on this? Kritts |

| Hello - I am seeking those suffering from Morgellons that live in California. My mother has been suffering from this for 3-4 years and it is starting to consume her life. She is brinking being suicidal and I want to do anything and everything I can to help her. People who are not suffering from this disease do not seem to understand just how damaging it can be. I want to find her people that will understand what she's going through. Life is hard enough without having friends there with you, and I think the best friends she can have are those that can completely sympathize with what she is going through. If you think you could be one of those people please contact me. Even if you just become email buddies, I think at this point ANYTHING will help. I really appreciate and value all that I have learned from this site. Stay strong!! Please contact me through email. I am planning on starting up a myspace for those suffering, a place to not only share your experiences but shine as the person you all trully are. Lets find friends in eachother. | Another good point, Carls. Someone posted on another thread earlier about having Morgellons long before lesions. I meant to ask what symptoms they did have before lesions. I've been too busy with other things today....finding out I'll have to pay a fortune in back income taxes because I was too chronic fatigued and depressed to get it together....What fun I'll be having. Anyway, back on topic....So, really...you could actually have had Morgellons 10 years ago but it didn't really manifest itself until later.... I'm going to adjust the first post to include that thought, thanks. xoxoKritts |

| My biggest support through all of this came from my therapist. I was so ashamed of this I did not tell her for 2 years. My therapist has advanced Lymes Disease and when I did finally tell her and all of my symptoms she thought I as well had Lymes. (I haven't ruled out Lymes but because I am on Medicare Disability the Quack, OOPS I mean Dr I saw ordered only 2 tubes of blood for testing. Everyone else I know ever tested for Lymes had about 10 tubes of blood. My therapist was so convinced I was not psychotic that she called her best friend who had gone back to school to get her Nurse Practitioners License, and asked her if she would take me as a patient when she graduated and help find out what was wrong with me. At some point soon after while still desperately seeking an answer I saw the article about Billy Koch and his family having Morgellons. Within a couple of weeks the story aired on 60 minutes (I think) and the Nurse Pract saw it and excitedly called my therapist to tell her she knew what was wrong with me. I saw her for about 2 years. She is the determinate for my diagnosis of ruptured implants as well as Digenerative Disc Disease. It took 2 years of fighting my medicare carrier to finally get approval for explantation. they were removed in June of 08. We hoped that my symptoms would subside but the opposite, I became much worse. All that and now let me get back to the laser thing (now you can really tell I'm a Morgie, Huh?) DO NOT!! and I repeat, DO NOT, let any doctor put a laser on any of your lesions. I will later provide pictures of why. Remember these are fibers, ever heard of fiber optics? Well that's what it looks like under the skin after a laser treatment, they absolutely EXPLODE!!!! |
