Hi Claudia, I am A+, but through blood transfusion. I was a blue baby. Rh factor. Not really sure if original blood type was A+ though. When I think about it, why would a baby's inherited blood be incompatible to itself anyway? Oh well. another mystery. I think the blood type itself might not be a factor, but something working around or with it might. Also, I think we should keep in mind that not everyone taking this pole has "Morgellons" (whatever that is). Kritts

Hi Kritters, You were not your mothers first child, correct? If you answer I will try to explain what I know on the subject. Claudia PS, I have wondered if there is some conection with morgs myself.

Hi Again, OK, lets see if I can do this simply. I'm a bit shy, but will try. All blood types are either positive + or negative -. Lets say your mother had negative blood of some type and your father positive of some type. With her first baby if the child has negative blood like she does there is no problem. If with her first baby the child has positive blood like the father she (the mother) will build up antibodies against the positive blood. Still there will be no problem with the first child though. If she gets pregnant again with a child with positive blood then this time there is a problem because of the antibodies she has built up. The problem is exactly what happened with you, what they call a blue baby is born. These blue babies get a blood transfusion just like you did. I presume the transfused blood is of the type you had but am not sure. I have wondered what roll these antibodies play in the whole scheme of things, if any. I find it interesting this blood fight. Hope I explained this so you understand. I feel it can get confusing. Claudia

Hello Claudia, my sis-in-law was/is negative, my brother positive. She was pregnant with my nephew who was/is also positive. She needed to take meds in order to prevent abortion. The doctors advised her not to have more children. Kat

Hi, Wow! Katinka geez never heard of that. There should have been no problem with first child. From what I understand there is a shot they can give a woman so she does not build up antibodies. I think you have to get it early on before your body has a chance to make the antibodies though. If she did not get this shot then there could be a problem with second child if it has positive blood. Why he would say to have no more children seems extreme. All of this works vice-versa if mother is positive and father is negative.I myself am B- and first husband was A+,but my child had B- like me. So I never had built up any antibodies. Also I had only the one son. I did not bounce back well after giving birth and knew I could never go through that again. I was going to add something else but can not remember what it was.Maybe I'll think of it in a bit. This happens lately lol. Claudia

Claudia, I don't know why he said that..she told me but, I can't remember exactly..it's a long time ago...but I think because of the complications that can happen with another child, like you mentioned. tada, Kat

Hi Claudia, thanks for taking the time. I did look that up about 40 years ago when I found out about being a blue baby. The RH factor is called that because they used rhesus monkeys to figure it out. They should have named me names with the initials RH ...I find it interesting that there aren't more RH babies. Maybe it's cause I haven't been in the hospital loop but you don't hear about that much these days. And with all the people negative and positive, you'd think it would be more common. It's possible I also picked up some fun critters with the blood transfusions, I think. But I think there is much more than meets the eye regarding blood types and antigens. Maybe some day someone will bring it to light. thanks again, Kritters
