I have been reading today about silica crystals. Silica forms crystals when it's heated up (not sure how hot it has to get) -

Amorphous silica (silica is free form, not bound, like what we have, I think) is considered a workplace hazard because the crystals are very damaging to the lungs. You can imagine (if those are silica crystals) how damaging something like that in the lungs would be.

Silica crystals can form hexagonal shapes. Don't you have some pictures of crystals with 6 sides?
