I am probably to late to reply to this post?
but I've found that these things I have
turn to mush in water.

Found a way to get them to wiggle though.........
I discovered this by accident when I coughed one up in the sink.
Take hot tap water from the faucet,
not boiling water , just good & hot.
Pour a little bit on the end of their tail.
These that I cough up sure wiggle.
I have never seen them move other than this way.

You are very brave. I hope you find a doctor to help.

I have had severe itching, fibers and pimple-like skin lesions, but nothing like what you are suffering through. Bless you.
