| interesting, as on my last doc visit they said we have this on a cellular level.this picture does speak a thousand words. i have also read that the blood samples of morgellons patients has black specks show up in it later. when had first iv med, all wound sites had a mass exodus of black specks, was really gross. i believe it, (LC). |

| Hey 10meters -I was wondering what laboratory made this discovery. It seems that if Morgellons has actually been determined to be a parasite that infests the red blood cells, it would be easy enough to come up with some specific treatments for it. I googled "red blood cell parasites" and everything discusses the virus that causes malaria as being a red blood cell parasite, but nothing else that I can tell. I can't find anything on the Morgellons research web sites that indicates it has actually been determined to be a parasite and I would think that would be BIG news (the cause is still undetermined as far I can tell by the info available). I would also think that white blood cells, T-cells or antibodies could kill it if it attacks the red blood cells and lives in the blood stream (especially the smaller immature parasites that are shown "being born" in the photo). |

| Malaria cells have proteins which protect them from detection in the blood stream. Evidently the little buggers can keep changing the protein and thus elude detection by the blood cells. I expect that is what is happening with the morgellons parasite as well. Also the life cycle is complex. Therefore I do not think it will be easy to cure morgellons unless someone starts putting scientific knowledge together in ways which so far have not been done. http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/artic/...heet_niaid.htm Lipid science research may be one way to achieve a cure, if it proves to be at all viable. Let's hope so. I am not pushing this company. It is just one company I know about which is conducting research in this area. Lipid science is being researched in Europe too. Anyway this site also has some pages on research articles and news (previously posted this pge but am putting in again for this discussion): http://www.lipidsciences.com/technology.html Just so many layers to this conundrum. And there is no pun in this.
