| Some of you know that my cocker has the Big M, too. This morning there were probably a hundred swollen, yellowish translucent wormy-looking things in my dog's poop. My heart stopped and I just about came unglued. I can't get to the vet until Monday to start her on another round of Ivermectin. I mean her poop was loaded with them. Fortunately none of them moved. I watched and watched. I've never seen anything like it before. I almost cried. Then I remembered that last night she and I had eaten clementines together. Quite a few, actually. Apparently dogs can't digest citrus pulp and it went right through her. All the little pulp bits were swollen and separated into fat yellow "worms". What a relief and my laugh for the day! Sometimes it's all in the perception and what you expect to find. |

| Sky, that's a great story! My previous dog had terrible allergies and I fed her a raw diet. One of her favorite things was chicken feet, which I used to buy at a Mexican market. They looked like little yellow hands. I snapped a picture of her one day, this frou frou little white puff ball Bichon looking up at me innocently with a chicken foot hanging out her mouth. It was hysterical. |

| I went so far as to have my dog and cat's poop checked for "something". But when I use to have my stool checked, the lab always came back negative, so why did I expect anything different for the animals? They don't know what they are looking at, because it is half human, half plant, right? I know what I see in my own stools, clear mucous worms, that are dead, cuz I killed them!!!!! I use Vermii or Jerusuleum artichoke to create bacteria and flush the gut. I still have horrible gut pains on a daily basis. Anybody else get that? smoothdeb |

| Hi there deb, I think you were last on about four years ago. We were both pretty new at that time. Anyway, good to see you! Yes, I used to have some really bad stomach aches. Not all the time but when they hit? Very painful. As we all know by now from hanging around here and reading on the internet that can be one symptom of parasites. What helped me was getting very sick last winter with an intestinal blockage. That was when I got two different Chinese formulas (I am still on them in smaller amounts now) which helped me to pass from the small intestine some very large white worms. Perhaps round worms of some sort. I know it was in the small intestine as I was using the large intestine formula first and was still experiencing blockage. So we added that one and I passed a lot of parasites, more than one type I think but that's the one I remember as it was so gross. Yuck. I do not know if there is any herbal formula in Western herbalism which could treat that area (small intestine specifically) of the body. If you have access to a good Western herbalist perhaps they would know. Either that or find a good TCM practitioner who knows how to use the formulas I am on (they do not suggest starting these without supervision as the formulas could harm those who do not need them, such as people who have diarrhea). Anyway, treating this area of the body stopped my frequent and painful stomach aches. Ivermectin (Western anthelmintic) btw did not touch what was going on in the small intestine. Of course this may not be the area of the body which is causing you issues, but I thought to mention my experiences with what alleviated my former stomach aches. I hope you are doing better than you were in your last post here. Most of us improve but do not get totally well. I have more energy over time with what I am doing which involved over the years also the use of some regular Western medication. You could try contacting the American Herbalist Guild if you are interested in a Western herbalist. They have a list of people who have to pass some requirements for certification. If the person is really good they will be very careful about their herbal sources and they will carry fresh herbs which have medicinal strength. Or you might have a good acupucturist near you. Where I am we are fortunate to have both Western and Eastern herbalism to choose from. Some Western drugs may also help. You just have to keep trying to find what works for you. And you have to change what you do as symptoms ebb and flow. Best, tcm ![]() Quote:

| Hi Deb, We started drinking organic kefir (Helio's brand) about 3 1/2 years ago. I think it really helps. itwl, ~jonsi

| If you use kefir it may be a good idea to allow it to come to room temperature before drinking it as if you have a stomach ache that cold food hitting the stomach could worsen the pain. I find both that and yogurt do that to me. Also the energetics of these foods are cold in themselves and in the winter time eating them makes me feel cold. I have to balance it out by eating warming foods. So just in case others may experience similar reactions I thought I would mention that.
