Default Do you ever fine hair in litter boxes?

Hi, This is the first time i am writing. I have 6 cats and 1 dog and i have all ways had animals but now i wonder if that is why i am so sick. Our hair or fur is killing me. If you have a cat do you ever see hair in your litter box or around it? I don't and with six cats you would think I would. RIGHT! These bugs can smell and hear that why you can't vac. them up. I have been putting corn starch on them to stop them from itching which seem to help them. The corn starch rises to the top of hair after awhile and then i vac. it of. I put on me as well. Also while i have been writing this I have been soaking my hair in different things like white vinegar and all of the hairs don't sink. And to me if its dead it would sink. I have it soaking in clorox and they sank. I going to try hydrogen peroxide next. One more thing i use to have hair down to my waist and it was so thick and everyone said its beautiful and looks so healthy and that why i never cut it until four years ago and i shave it all off. I live in Maryland is there doctors around here helping with this? Because the ones i seen don't. They think I nuts. And I not sure how much longer I can Fight this. Toini

Hi toini,

Sorry you are experiencing this.

I have 2 cats. One is 18, I think she had "M" at one time. My concern is my new cat "Angel" which I adopted in January. She has a rash and black peppery looking specks on her chin. I hate to spray her with anything because she is such a sweet animal. I've tried to put dsp on her chin & she hates that!

Try using "bug arrest" on your animals and environment, on you too. I'm going to mix some up as soon as I post this.

My hair drove me crazy too.

I hope you can find your way back to this site and keep posting. Having the support from others that are living through "M" is the first step to getting through this.

Carla has a thread on Doctors who recognize & treat "M". Perhaps there is a Doctor in your area.

In the white light,
~jonsi

toini,

I have 1 cat and 1 dog. They are both 3 yrs old. They both have morgellons/mycoplasma very badly. They were both tested but only my kitty showed as having this illness. So, my cat gets doxy. pills (but for much longer time) and my doggie is treated by all the advice I have gotten from the helpful people here.

I use bug arrest: on my dog (spray), on his bed, on couches, chairs and all sorts of other places. There are other products that can be sprayed. I give both an extra can of pet food, as I think the morgies will eat them up. I brush the dog a lot. He loves it and it loosens his hairs. The cat tolerates the brush, but prefers to eat it.

I do have some of my type medicines (ok for dog/cat) and use that on sores and especially on the bottom of doggies feet (he chews foot). I also give flea meds., worm meds., and vitamins.

For my hair: I use a variety of shampoos (dandruff, sulpher based, and others). If you read back under treatments, you will find a bunch of different hair treatments.

And I have never seen any hair in the litter box - Before and during this horrific illness.

Come back and just ask questions and you will receive help and friends.

Hella
