| I happen to run across an odd post/question on a pest control forum about mites in purina(and others?) pet foods,,causing infestations,,and even some deaths of peoples pets.. Was here Little Tiny white looking bugs!! and Re: Little Tiny white looking bugs!! and TINY black worm-like bugs...from old cat food?please help i got kids!!! MAIN forum questions e-Bug - Pest Control Forum - 1-800-226-8370 to Order After googling "pet food recall",,,I found an ocean of complains, recalls,,problems and such.. I just wanted to raise awareness about this,,and do some lookin yourselves regarding what you are feeding your pets,,and such.. I had no clue this was such a big problem till today,,as well as most people prolly dont.. If your pet is sick,,,LOOK AT THE FOOD!! first, anyway to rule out possibilities of poisoning..And do your homework for the future.. This was just ONE site,,back in 07,,but look how many,,and look what Wal-mart did.... Pets Products Consumer Alert - Pet Food Recall - Dog Food Updated 12/09/09 (fair use) Which ever brand of pet food you decide to feed to your cat or dog make sure the pet food does not include Corn, Wheat, or Soy. These three grains are killers. Corn, Wheat and Soy are toxic to cats and dogs. Cats and dogs are meat eaters and should not be fed grains. The grains are included in pet food not as a benifit to cats and dogs but only to cut the cost of producing pet food. Dogs and Cats on a diet which includes corn, wheat, or soy will develope "hot spots" on the skin, hair loss, itching and scratching, flaky skin, paw licking, elevated body temperature, ear infections, swelling, increased nail growth, moles, enlarged kidneys, enlarged liver, blindness, heart conditions, tumors, and eventually will die an early death. - Susan Peters Now I am off to check my cat food I just bought yesterday,,my cat has been "dustin" alot lately... |

| I have a report from an experienced morgie in Auz that reports seeing morgs targeting wet pet food thats high in gelatine. I think she could be right. My cat will only touch hairball control dried food, and others have observed that their cats are very aware and intuitive of morgs in the environment ... (eg not touching wet food or not sitting on morg infested furnishings/bedding or running away fast - for no apparent reason). Jo |
