Default Cleaning brushes, combs, etc.

How do you guys clean your brushes, combs and bathbrushes? Especially hairbrushes with all those hidey-holes around the bristles?

Dear Friends,

My advice is to purchase cheap combs and throw them out frequently.

If you stop washing your hair so often the collembola will leave, just as they leave dry house plants.

Please google Professor Amin re safe use of IGR. You need a night's sleep.

I am sincerely your friend, and am really trying to help.

It is silly to throw friendship away.

I have gleaned much of help from your posts, which I have read voraciously.

I haven't been using brushes, either, just combs. I also have long hair which I wear up. I've been afraid of infecting brushes. But I think my scalp would be in better shape if I could give it a good brushing every day.

Sammy, what ratio of bleach to water? How long do you leave them in it?

Lately I've been keeping my combs in pine sol water in a plastic box with a lid. When I need one in the morning, I take one out, rinse it off and use it. I don't know whether it's working or not. I bought some Barbicide from a beauty supply store but there are so many warnings on it I'm afraid to touch it!

thats good advice,to buy disposable and toss them, isadora, except the not washing hair part, lol, i cant stand my hair dirty! if your hairs got the buggys, try nix lice shampoo. it works on all them nasty critters.
sonji, call a barber and ask them what the stuff in the blue jar they put combs in, i hear that works well. if they wont tell you i have a friend whos a barber ( also my bail bondsman.lol)

janedoe,
That's the barbicide I was talking about.

I can't imagine not washing my hair, either. I try to go 2 days in between, but by half-way through the 2nd. day the film on my scalp feels awful and itches. Besides, I work in a public capacity. Lack of cleanliness would be out of the question.

im the same way, except working in public, but now my skins better, im volunteering again at the lodge. i love my soft hair, if i cant wash it, i put it in a ponytail and throw on the old bandana..haha..
what shampoo do you use? pantene works well for me..
it sucks tho, when i was real bad with the morgys, my hair would break just looking at it, well, now its getting healthier, so i have all this hair thats grown back and sticks straight up!! i look like moe from the stooges! ive never used hairspray and aint about to start, i guess ill just have to bite the bullet here and get a haircut. im so scared of getting my hair trimmed, they always screw it up! i have the most simple hair ever, its thin, long straight.no curls, no perms,so why does everybody make me look so goofy? maybe id better learn to cut my own hair.lol

Jane, your hair sounds a lot like mine. Fine, straight, used to be very pretty and with the right cut, looked very full. THOSE days are over for awhile! I know a lot of people cut their hair short with morgies but things fall out and land on me. I think that's part of how the infection spread to my body. Also, I wouldn't be able to keep hairs from falling all over the place. So I pull it back in a pony tail and tuck the ends into the scrunchie. Keeps what's on my head on my head instead of on the rest of me and keeps me from dropping infected hairs right and left.

Pantene? I was using Pantene when I got the morgs; used it for years and loved it. Now I use tea tree oil shampoo with extra tea tree and a little Dawn antibacterial to help keep the film under control. I have the film pretty bad on my scalp, face, hands and feet. I'd love to be able to go back to Pantene.
