Default How to Keep a New Car Morg-Free?

Well, the heavily-upholstered, Morg-laden La Sabre is hopefully gone for good.
I was rearended Friday afternoon by a sun-blinded woman and the trunk of the car was displaced 2 feet. The doors wouldn't open from the inside and the force of the impact knocked the front seats all the way up the track. It was interesting; my first trip in an ambulance. I seem to be ok except for being pretty sore and having some bumps and bruises, so thank God for that.
Now I'll have to buy another car. Not looking forward to payments again, but at least it gets me out of a heavily-infected car.

Any tips for keeping my next vehicle Morg-free?

Default ouch

So glad to hear that you are alright!!!
I would think that a car with an all vinyl or leather interior would be easier to keep Morgellons free. I've successfully used enzymes to clean my car and I've also used diatomaceous earth mixed with water and enzymes sprayed through a garden sprayer(messy though... leaves a white film on most surfaces... easily cleaned). I have heard that new cars that have that new car smell are incredibly toxic due to off-gassing of chemicals used in plastic production, glues and carpets. Especially during the hot summer months down in the South. If you are concerned about possible chemical sensitivities, that is something to consider.

So happy you are alright.

Default Leather seats?

I brought a sneaker boot air freshner, put foam rubber inside so I can add my own choice of essential oils. You can spray with DE and water mix and leave it to dry. It's a bit messy though.

Default Prob'ly won't be new

Xib,
It will probably be used; can't afford new this time. So prob'ly no new car smell. Thanks for being glad I'm ok! It happened 35 minutes after my vacation started so I'm a little miffed that I have to take it easy instead of doing the closet re-organization I'd planned this week. So miffed, in fact, that I may just go into work on Monday and reschedule my vacation.

What mix of DE / water? And do you recommend a particular enzyme cleaner? What about plugging in a diffuser w/peppermint oil? I'd been planning to do that in the Buick but hadn't gotten to it yet.

Digit,
Fer sure it'll be vinyl or leather this time! Probably vinyl. I've noticed that black particles actually imbed in my leather furniture if I don't notice them in time to brush them off. Leather may not be alive, but it's skin and they like it, I guess.

Default Car and Laundry Suggestions

Sorry to hear of your accident Sojii. That's a hard way to get a new car. I am glad to hear you were not seriously injured.

A few posts which discuss treating upholstery and laundry too:

I'm looking for personal support (start with permalink 91) There's a discussion of Nature's Miracle Enzyme products in a few posts on this thread.

Member suggestions for treating the car (Dilute products before using according instructions on the chosen product, take care with upholstery to check color fastness in a hidden area before spraying with products. I have read that at least one member felt that DE was far too messy and difficult to use. Again I would suggest only doing a small test area first with any products):

Eco-vie is another enzyme that is safe...

Read the instructions! Spray and let it evaporate. Eco-vie, Bug Arrest ARE NOT TOXIC.

Insecticides are toxins which can make "morgellons" more active!!! Stay away from toxins!

I'd leave it on overnight or 24 hours if you are totally paranoid.
mountainroseherbs.com sells it.
I tent my computer chair with plastic as well as my couch and place the menthol crystals underneath them and it works.
I also have a little "decompression" chamber where I mentholate some of the items I'm putting in the trash (people go through the trash in my neighborhood so I want to protect them from exposure).

Smile How to keep new car Morg free?

Hi,

In June of this year, I crashed my vehicle and totaled it. I am blessed to be alive. Fractured my sternum and have some damage to my lungs, but I am okay. I have some skeletal and muscle issues I didn't have before.

I have purchased two used vehicles since then and cannot get the perfume fragrance out of them.I have cleaned them 4 times and aired them everyday and still can't get past the smell.I have used two different products and still smell the fragrance. I even put an ionizer/ozone machine in them to no avail. I may try some Kleen free peppermint enzymes in them to see what happens and put little net bags of peppermint crystals in there as it will get rid of any bugs. If all else fails, I will look for something wlse with plastic or leather seats. I am chemically ill and cannot use chemicals nor can I stand the new car smell.
It amazes me how so many people are killing themselves with chemicals.

Peppermint crystals for getting rid of morgs is a good thing.

Gator
