I have now removed curtains from my bedroom as I found them to be hiding place for the fibre. However At night when I shine the torch light, I can still see a lot of fibre floating in the air. The fibres have now also planted themselves on my skin and I now have a layer of white fibre that looks like white hair (my real hairs are black in color). I am thinking of getting air purifier but not sure if it helps to remove the fibre in the air.

Hi there... I have used air purifiers before. I think the ones that you can clean the metal filter are good. I have an Ionic Breeze. It works well, however, I have not noticed the fibers floating in the air as you have. Have you checked/cleaned all the air vents in your room? Air conditioners often have filters in them that need to be cleaned regularly. Central heating units do as well. I have heard of some having a positive result with this problem by using essential oils and diffusers in the room in question. Sojii recently commented on this issue. Have you eliminated all other possible sources such as cotton comforters/blankets, carpeting and uphoistered furniture? I have had to do so in the past. What kind of fabric is your bedding? Polyester and satin seem to not have the fiber issues that cotton does. Good Luck and share what you find out Xib Here is the permalink that Sojii shares the essential oil and diffuser info New Member, saying hello - your help and advise needed Last edited by xiblanque; September 19th, 2010 at 08:42 PM.

KS370, I'm glad you asked that question because it was on my list to ask. Apparently some of us have these things no matter what and it might be the area we live in. Some think they're coming off or out of us, but I've never seen it happen so can't say. I change my a/c filter frequently - less than a month apart - and use the really expensive filters, but they're still literally covered like a blanket in fuzz when I replace them. I've never seen anything like it. I have no fuzzy blankets or throws, my furniture is mostly leather, metal, glass and stone and I have laminate floors. I wear mostly polyester and use polyester satin bedding. I don't leave my windows open. There's simply nothing to make white fuzz and floaters, but they're there, like magic. I live in an apartment and there's no telling what's lurking in the a/c ducts. I've just begun with the essential oil diffuser and it does seem to help. My next step will be to get a good air cleaner. I have them in my car, too - it's upholstered - and in hot weather they stand straight up on the dashboard. It's the weirdest thing you've ever seen. So I'm going to get a diffuser for the car, too.

| vacumn, clean your celing with the swiffer mop thingys, tey work great! ( and smell nice too) works on popcorn celings too.launder your bed linens and vacumn. check the furnace/air vents to make sure no more is coming in. i got one of those air purifiers, and it made the dust way worse, made my dads room reek! ( even more than usual) the air ions dont really work either. just have to clean. make sure your car is clean or youll bring it right back into your room

I'd been using allergen-reducing Endust on it to dust furniture but bought BioKleen Bac-Out enzyme cleaner with a mold reducer last week and have been using that for pretty much everything except my one wooden table. It works well on electronic equipment too.
