I've lived like a person under siege for the last few months since I figured out what I have. I buy boxes of plastic "t-shirt" bags like grocery stores use, store dirty clothes in them individually and tie them tight until I can launder. By the weekend I've got 40 little bags. I got rid of all my cotton bedding and most of my cotton clothing, bought polyester satin sheet sets, poly microfiber blankets and poly satin pajamas on sale from Penneys. Bought enough for a week so I don't have to do laundry every night. I haven't used them yet, though; saving them for the move, except for one microfiber blanket, which I wash every day. I made up a "health" excuse for why I couldn't sleep in my bed and have been sleeping in the leather recliner I brought here that's in the den. I'm ditching the antique wood furniture I brought with me and bought a light-colored leather living room set for the new apartment. I like leather, but would never choose it as an option if it were up to me; I like the heavily upholstered homey look, but we can forget that! Most of my belongings have been in storage for the almost-3 years I've been this guy's caretaker (fortunately no hands-on care; he's just blind.) I'm so afraid I'll open that storage unit and find the things were in my stuff BEFORE I came here and everything infested. I packed everything in big rubbermaid tubs and used masking tape to seal them because I'm afraid of spiders so hopefully things will be ok. I've already blown my small savings because of this whatever-it-is. I'll shoot myself if all my books are ruined, my kitchen stuff, etc. but I'm steeling myself for the prospect. However, I'm gonna keep smiling come hell or high water...
You are so awesome Sojii! I love your attitude!

I was laughing so hard about all the little baggies. That is what i had gonig on too. I dont do that now, but I thinnk it really helped at first.

Also, all the stuff you say about using the satin sheets, etc. I did all that too. And I sleep on a camping pad (no fabric in it) and no bed.

About the stuff being already infected, yepp... I know what u mean there too. I lost so much stuff and am in astronomical debt now, but back to the movie, I try to pretend I am in one of those movies. Right now we are in the tough part. But every movie has to have that to be exciting, right? lol. But we will conquer it of course, just like "outbreak" etc.

Sometimes I also try to think about things like, "Wow, what an exciting adventure! This is a great way to find out who will like me for me, even when I act and look peculiar." Or "Wow, what an interesting thing I am having the chance to experience. Very few ppl are this lucky to get to have this experience." Or even, "What an exciting disease I get to experience. If I was going to be sick what a great job I did picking the most bizarre and exciting thing out there."

lol... well,... I try to reframe things to make this challenge as "fun" as possible. good luck to you and to all of us!

Default Kleen Green?

LOL, Fracty,
Adventure is certainly one way to put it. There are many sufferers so much worse off than I am. I found the information pretty early on and could start using some of the suggestions. I don't know if that will increase my chances of it not getting as bad as many people have it or not. It may have its own pattern regardless of anything I do to stave it off. I've had very few health problems in my 58 years and a totally uneventful life; leave it to me to get something bizarre.

Ya, I think at least we can try to find the best possible way to look at this right? It can only help.

Sojii,
I used Green Kleen at the beginning. I sprayed it on the walls and ceiling a few times. I did see it kill a spider, so I know it does kill bugs, but I don't think that is what eliminated them from my environment, although maybe it helped.
I have a steamer and eventually tried using the enzymes in the steamer when I did my rugs, which didn't harm the apparatus and could only have helped. I used a tablespoon per tank of water. I steamed the rugs slowly every few days when it was bad.

Things I did that really seem to work was burning menthol crystals in a little cup on a Mr. Coffee cupwarmer. The biggest problem with me was reinfection from handling dirty clothes/linen. I bought a big plastic bin (or a garbage pail is fine) and threw my dirty stuff into it. Then I'd leave the menthol in there burning for a few hours. Turn the menthol off and leave it sit sealed shut overnight before handling the clothes. This stopped the accidental spread back to me and worked. Also, I bought Cedarwood (Virginia) essential oil and did the same thing with the Mr. Coffee warmer. I don't know for sure if that works, because by then, I think I had licked the problem.
mountainroseherbs.com sells both products. I'd recommend the one lb. bag of crystals.
The crystals will form a cotton candy filament in the bin if you use too much or it's too close to the lid, this easily skims up and can be remelted. See photo of the garbage pail rig my boyfriend used.mentholsetup.jpg picture by zarabels_world - Photobucket
I used a much smaller bin and put my cup warmer on a book that sat on top of clothes. Don't pack clothes too tight.

Also, I'd recommend getting the fairly large plastic bins (I found some on sale at home depot for 8 bucks). Make sure they are clear. When you don't need them anymore, they can be stacked. Much, much easier than the plastic bags because you can see what's in them.

I also tented my couch and computer chair and would leave the menthol burning overnight under them. Make sure windows are open and you are not in same room. They don't seem to be toxic but my acupuncturist was upset with me when she heard I was doing that. You don't want to be breathing that stuff very long. Again, I tried cedar oil for the furniture as well. Cedar oil is easier to take, but I don't know clearly if it works because as I say, I think it was over by then.
Good luck. Hope this helps.

Default Some enzyme tips that worked for me....

Yes...Enzymes!!!

Hi Sojii!!
I've used alot of the enzymes you've written about. As a body wash, enviromental spray, laundry aid etc... with good results...
my biggest complaint is the cost... even with the large volumes that you dilute 1:7 it gets pretty expensive. When I've used Kleen Green, Liceadex and other brands...I've read the ingredients... usually the same 7 enzymes...
this quote is from another thread... "Barley enzyme wash" or something like that...
"Incidently, I am now making citrus based enzymes for next to no $ compared to the "name" brand ones online that sell for $75.00 and up a gallon as well(they do dilute to make a large amount). The recipes are easy to find if you do a search here... and also... I have found a enzyme based cleaner that utilizes the same 7 enzymes( but NOT Chitinase!!!) found in the above mentioned products. It is a janitorial supply and dilutes to the same proportions as the other enzyme products (1 part enzyme to 7 parts water)... I ONLY use this as an enviromental "spray" and to clean and disinfect but at about $8.50 a gallon before diluting it is a great product...but in my experience enzymes are key in recovery of Morgellons.
QUEST CHEMICAL 296415 DIGEST PLUS 4/1GAL
I have found Many suppliers for this product.... as much as $54.00 a gallon.
cometsupply dot com has the cheapest price i could find... less than $50.00 for 4 gallons including shipping.
I do not work for quest chemical or cometsupply =)"

the Digest Plus is GREAT for spray/disinfecting your environment and things...
i've put in my laundry but it smells bad when heated too long in the dryer... works well for line drying tho... would not use it as a body wash or in a bath.
Arm and Hammer makes a powdered laundry soap that has BOTH enzymes and baking soda.... it is GREAT for laundry esp if you can stop the wash cycle and let it soak a bit (1/2 - 1 hour)
also add enzymes to baths... the problem is $ again...
"I've found that if I add a half cup of Arm and Hammer's Powered Laundry soap (it has baking soda and Enzymes!!!) to the bath then pour the vinegar onto it,then run the bath with hot water, salt and Thieve's oil it has a GREAT effect! This has become one of the few protocols that I actually ENJOY... this and really Healthy food that is good for you. before i was adding liquid enzymes without the A&H but the enzymes were very expensive... "
good luck...

Xiblanque,
How much enzymes did you used to add to the tub? I have some left and would like to try it.

Default enzymes in bath...

I've added as little as 1/2 cup... but also as much as 2 cups when it was really bad. These are liquid measurements..... but also the same measurements apply to the A&H powdered laundry soap. I prefer the A&H because when the vinegar is added (about 1 1/2 cups to 3 cups) there is a fizzing reaction that makes the bath VERY bubblely. I suggest reading the ingredients of the A&H soap before you try that tho... some people may have allergies to the ingredients... I also add 20-40 drops of the Thieve's oil.... and about 2 cups of salt (bath salts are better but even table salt really helps)....

Default Hi Lynnschnepp...

Yah... if you are on the cometsupply dot com site... that is the model number... i just checked it to be sure. same product, even cheaper price.
Be certain to read the previous post above... I don't use this product as a
body spray( in desperate times perhaps) but really for more an enviromental
spray. and I diluted it 7:1 (seven parts water to one part enzyme)
I have made homemade enzymes from recipes on this forum (do a quick search) and still recommend the Kleen Green for body care use.
Good luck
