It helps keet lint off your clothes animal hair too! The lint screen for the dryer was broken with in a wk of the installation last June, they changed the style of the screen, we purchased a new one and other than that we love them! I use to wash everything on the disinfect cycle w/ extra rinse 2.5 hr wash cycle.... not any more!!!! I wash them on regular no extra rinse throw a tblspn in with clothes, HE hypo allg, no dye, scent soap and then wash norm. Dry normal but throw in a tblspn of DE mixed through out the clothes and they smell better, feel softer. If its a load of blacks you will need to wipe with damp clothe prior to wearing if there are powder marks, but that is the worst of it! We don't use softner at all so the static clinge n softness are a sweet bonus, I missed the softner sheets, now there is no need! Loove this stuff! I use it as makeup, body scrub, in toothpaste, shampoo, con'd, in shower, toilet, sinks, the drains, the dishwasher, carpet, in the car! I wash my brushes, make up tools n spunges in it, I mix it in my lotions put DE on first while a lil damp then mix some powder in hand w/ lotion, I use it as a face and body mask day/nite, my hubby, son, dog are all on it full time as well now!

quote: and dove---is that brush specially made for your model, or just a general tool? endquote Kelley, It is a generic brush made for dryers. There is also an attachment that is sold to connect to the vacuum cleaner (I have not bought this yet). It too, is generic. I don't remember where I bought it (online) several years ago, but, I googled it and found this one which is similar to mine. It is the long one that I have. This is a set of two brushes $9.95. Dryer Brush Set Also, this is a cheaper one, it looks a little shorter, but, a great price (one brush). Fuller Brush Company 323N Clothes Dryer Vent Brush $6.68 I use the brush to pull it up and then vacuum the brush and around the dryer when the lint comes up. They don't sell the washing soda at the stores near me so I have to order it online. I usually get 3 boxes at one time when money permits.

meg--- you are on fire with the DE! I've really enjoyed reading your updates. thanks for weighing in on this, as we have yet to take the plunge on a specific model. and dove--thanks for finding those brushes for me--i'm gonna get me one quick! xokelley

Dove, I purchased food grade Diatomaceous Earth on eBay the company was earthworkshealth.com. I will check about the black dust in the vent and around the washer/dryer never a huge problem for me bc my husband is OCD and vacuums everyday, and I am OCD and Clorox everyday so having huge amounts of any color dust is rare. We see the hairs and fibers BC our couches are black and the fibers stand up no matter the location. Food Grade DE I purchased was tested after I received it and results were positive that the DE was 100%prure, 10lb bag was $15+$10s/h=$25 total. It arrived in 3 days. The box was sliced open from the post office verifying the contents, but the bag was not punctured at all! Please read the Morg treatment posts: Has anyone ever tried DE, this gives you 2wks of my trial and others who are/have used the DE in the past. ****VERY IMPORTANT: 90 days of consistent use before any parasite, fungus, infection can be completely killed or removed from the body due to breeding, eggs hatching, larvae, reproduction. Then every year you have suffered from the infection you are to stay on a treatment for 1 month for each year, to help promote repairing of the damaged cells, tissue, organs, ect. Keep us updated if you start taking DE and/or ask any questions if you think you want more info before ordering. There are a few websites if you Google food grade Diatomaceous Earth for humans, research for your own comfort I have Factor IV liedans a blood clotting disorder so I have to be super careful and my Doctor always knows when I change add or remove anything from vitamins to herbal/natural treatments, since green tea st.john's wart and more cause clotting in humans. XOXO, Meg

Kelley, GL, I forgot to say ours are the DUET Collection, anyway no matter what you get I hope you love them, for once my husband and I agreed that the most expensive is the best for this purchase (ie:size,use,power,style,option/! We can wash everything from huge blankets to all my very delicates w/o a worry! They are easy to maintain and to clean. You can also look into consumer reports for the top washer/dryers at the current time. It is not an easy thing to just spend $4000 in these times. We did purchase from Best Buy and the extended warranty for 5 years (we never buy those) but this was one item that we couldn't chance. Not bc of the $$ but the time to replace them and with my skin that experiance nearly killed me. XOXO, Meg

Thanks Meg, I feel so stupid sometimes. I could not figure out what DE was when I read your post. I know about Diatomaceous Earth, but, I could not connect the dots. Sorry. I will be purchasing it though. The dust is not visible. I have white sheets that do not look dirty when I wash them, but, the water turns blackish. I have the same thing on my clothes and sometimes have to run the wash cycle twice, even when I have not been working in the yard. Again, thanks!

meg--- the DUET steamer is the one we are looking to get. it helps to know that you are happy with yours since we'll be plunking down the big bucks! and i'm with you on the extended warranty---so important now when i can't afford to have the machines go out on me. and dove, don't feel bad---i had to look up HE! oh the things we learn.... thanks and love, kelley
