Default Old Folks Home

Does anyone ever get to the point where they wish they were in a Nursing Home, even though they're not all too nice either?

I was daydreaming about this this morning. No housework, only thing to be concerned with is caring for myself. It sounds selfish but by "caring for myself" I mean healthwise, in order to have ALL the energy needed to do what's necessary in a correct way and not fatigued or hurriedly.

I feel like a wet noodle, and a skank most of the time. I have such back problems that by noon I am bent 1/2 way over and can't straighten up. To add to this my right shoulder and hip is getting terribly painful. I am wondering if this could be the Morgellons. Anyone else have this happen?

This house is way, way too big for me to keep clean. I absolutely can not do it. My husband's idea and my own regarding that of a clean home are 2 very different opinions. He would never pay for anyone to come in and help. I know what the next thought is, 'well then he should help', but that doesn't happen.

Some days I can honestly say I wish I was in a nursing home. I can't take care of myself.

Be well,
posey

Dear Posey,

I know exactly how you feel. I used to want to do so many things around the house. Decorate, cook, make slip-covers for the furniture....so many things.

Now, I would like to go to an island somewhere and eat pineapple and coconut. And research and do nothing else except communicate with fellow sufferers and write.

This really sucks. What about assisted living? Does your hubby understand any of this? We look pretty normal, but we aren't.

Hi Posey,
my mom has different aches and pains in her joints (knees, hip) and back too. She doesn't have Morgellons. Last time I visited her she opened the door with a walking stick in her hand. She had so much pain in her knees she could hardly walk. At night her hip hurts too. I bought her a "mattress-topper". You put it on top of your normal mattress. It helps with muscle and bone pains.
I suggested her to get MSM-Methylsulfonylmethane. It's organic sulfur.
You can read about this here:

MSM - Methylsulfonylmethane - Dietary Supplement - Side Effects - Uses - Health Benefits

It doesn't only help for arthritis it's essential for joints and bonestructure.
Maybe this could help you too I'm sure you can buy this at any drugstore in the USA.
You can start low to see if there are any side effects.
I hope I could help you with this.
Katinka

PS: My mom would never leave "her home" like she says. Since my dad
passed away last year she feels lonely but she still wants to stay.

posey--
i totally hear your pain on this! it's incredibly difficult to do everything, with no help from your husband. Even just doing some of it is rough---and especially, with the joint pain. once i get in a position now, it's really hard to straighten up, stand up and get out of it---i'm like the tin man that need oil! i do think joint pain can be part of this--mine got dramatically worse after getting morgellons.

i take a homeopathic remedy called Apo-Rheum by Pekana---they are a highly reputable manufacturer of homeopathics. i get mine through my acupuncturist, but it's also available online in various places. it seems to be helping quite a bit.

you probably have read this stuff already, but when i'm feeling overwhelmed, i focus on two little sections of cleaning protocols--the first one is from a post carla has called "Living With Morgellons--Treatment Suggestions" and I'm not certain, but I think the second one is from Bubba's protocol.

"If you are too unwell or don't have the energy to clean your home just treat your immediate surroundings and wait until you feel better.
The most important thing is getting yourself well and having plenty of rest.Do what you can when you can and
don't get stressed out about anything."

"Divide home into sections and clean one section at a time so you don't get overwhelmed and quit before you start."

there are many days when i play the mind game---"if i could just keep my house cleaner, maybe i'd get rid of this..."

you are not alone in this struggle!

Hi Carla,
sounds you are in terrible shape. Makes me sad to read this. Don't do have anyone who can help you?
This might sound funny, but have you tried a hot warming bottle (?) yet?
That always helped me with backaches. It relaxes the muscles. Plus take an aspirin it may help with the numbing feelings.

Take care,
Katinka

PS: Just think of the better days that WILL come. Makes me feel better when I'm feeling bad too.

Posey -
Another one who can relate! I have a roommate who insists on touching everything. He'll go out and play golf, come in the house and without washing his hands start poking in the refrigerator. Or he'll keep scratching his scalp and running his hands through his Morgellons hair. I feel like fainting when I see him doing that kind of thing.
Joint pain is common, and I have been told by one of the Morgie doctors that it's something that shows up after you've had it for awhile. I know I had fibers under my kneecap, because once I figured out how to draw crap out of my body, I got tons of it out from around my left kneecap. The swelling went down and the pain subsided.
I also USED TO have carpal tunnel syndrome...until I drew fibers out from my wrists and the pain and numbness left.
This is so creepy.
SS

PS - I now have a lot of pain in my left shoulder.

I think Morgellons attacks cartilage... so hips, shoulders...also I get funny elbow pain too.

Need to try MSM - thanks Katinka for the reminder.

Posey - if I ever win the lottery, I'll set up a morg commune and you can have the best view.

Keep truckin

Jo xxx

Default So many questions

I can so.o.o.o. relate to the "assisted living" idea; have thought of this quite a few times recently! Carla, I also have used your "take care of yourself first" quote as I pass through another day without attacking this house. Somehow, I don't think my husband has a clue about how to help physically or emotionally. I feel like I need all my energy to just take care of me at this point. I like the idea about dividing the house into work areas, and attacking them one at a time, but there are just so many! Every day I get up and think I'm going to accomplish just a bit, but end the day without measurable progress. I'm on meds for depression and was starting to feel strong enough to cope again, and then these "black specks" started appearing with pinprick zaps all over, plus the brain/energy lapses, problems with my right eye and foot. . .and the blue/green and red specks covered with "goo". . .What is this stuff? How do the rest of you cope with everyday stuff like cooking? What do you do about social events? Or kids' friends coming over? I feel like a leper - am so concerned about giving this to someone else!

Ok, I've vented now. Time to figure out dinner. . .thanks!
