Default Desperatly need help and advice

To whomever can help me,
My name is Faith and I have a very good friend who in the last several months seems to have developed Morgellons she started with little black dot's on her legs a stinging and crawling sensation that was then diagnosed as scabies of some sort. Since then however she has started producing fibers from her skin when it is exposed to heat like a shower or washing her hands. She showed me recently after washing her hands these thin threads that were coming from her skin. Disgustingly she then brushed her hands off and who knows where the fibers went on the floor. Here is why I am writing. I have read on other sites that it very well can be contagious and especially to those with weakened immune systems, I am pregnant and there for have a weakened immune system as well as diabetes that further weakens it and a few other health problems. A baby will have a weakened system when born. My husband is scared and Very upset that I may be exposing him myself and our unborn child and once born our newborn to this weird and debilitating disease.
HOW worried or not should I be and What precautions can be taken? I do not want to tell my friend who already feels like a freak I'm sorry I don't want you touching my baby or coming around me till this clears up... if it ever dose I feel like a jerk. But my concern is for my family and I need to find out as much as I can. And perhaps if you tell me yes I should be worried I can have that letter to show her and tell her it's not her but I have reason for concern.
If you can help me with any information at all I would greatly appreciate it.
thank you so much.
-Faith Turner

thank you hilly ...
I tried to reply right back to you but it would not let me because I havent posted 3 posts yet so Ill re write it here...
Thank you very much for writing to me. I am a new mother to be so everything stresses me out and scares me.
She wants to be very involved with the baby (she is like my sister or niece.. she grew up with me being her mothers friend I have known her since she was almost a baby) She wants to baby sit and be at the birth... the idea that her changing the baby or feeding it and something happening scares me to death. I am trying to be very supportive and I have not shyed away from hugs and kisses or anything of that nature.. I haven't even mentioned my anxiety to her. I don't want to hurt her feelings she is battling being an chubby self crittical teenager entering adulthood she is going threw enough without me adding to it. But the threads that I saw coming out of her scared me. If not much is known about this disease then who can be sure that the threads themselves do not contain some spore or parasite that would spread it.
From what my friend told me no treatment is available and in fact it is not even recognized by a lot of medical Dr's. what kind of treatment did they give you if I can ask? Perhaps it is something she can look into she says in NY there is no Dr. Willing to treat it.
thank you again for writing to me it makes me feel a little better but I am still scared I just think the more I learn the more I know the better I will feel.
thank you again
-Faith

Faith.... what other symptoms does she have ? Is it only the threads and black dots. She definitely should join this site, there is so much she could do to help herself (and you ! ) I live in the UK so am not much help re. doctors in the States, but I'm sure someone else here could help you with that and much more. Are her parents supportive and does she have money for doctors ?
As for the baby, I think it would be a good idea now if you gently explained that as there is not much known about her condition, you feel it would be safer for her not to touch and deal with the baby until she is a little better especially as you have a poor immune system..Probably wise for you not to have hugs etc as well.. I'm sure if you are kind and tactful she will understand even if she is disappointed.
Try not to get too worried.. When is the baby due ?

Faith -
Does your friend have internet access? It would be very helpful if she would join some online groups to get information. My guess is that after reading for awhile she will take it upon herself to keep some distance.
Although doctors like Casey, Wymore, Stricker, Staninger, and others do not think it is contagious, most people with Morgellons do not want to take a chance and voluntarily practice safety.
Even if it is not contagious, I think the worry about it might in itself be damaging.

I hate to say it Faith but you should be careful. I got this when I was pregnant and lots of others have said the same.
It will be hard for your friend but you have your baby to think about .
I think once you have the baby it will be ok but be careful while your pregnant .

Default Women think they get it when pregnant

I have seen a few cases and heard of many more where the woman that has a baby manifests horrible skin that never goes away. This I feel is due to her own actual immune and hormones fighting back against this DISEASE that has already taken root in her body. It is like doing antibiotics then stopping them. The skin usually appears AFTER the baby is born and will NOT go away.

I am also pretty sure this comes from FLUID EXCHANGE, maybe not, thru the years, now that I know what to look for, I can see people with exchaged fluids got, people that didn't did not. Maybe that has changed but I have to think it did not.

Myself I was anal about people touching my newborn, letting my child drink out of containers after adults, kissing the child on the lips and such. It is a hard call for you but in reality if you got this and you were rubbing fibers all over the house and your friend was watching, it would be you standing in her shoes. A mother and fathers place is to protect their children from the KNOWN and UNKNOWN. I do not have the skin involved with the massive fiber release, but think this is what reacts to the 35% hydrogen test. The underskin lesion has holes over it that will let in the fluid, my thinking is that the holes are fiber related. I have also had occasion to think this, the armadillo is known to have a form of leprosy the way to catch it is the PADS on their feet, on a human if you use 35% hydrogen peroxide on the finger print area it will react and feel horrible, their is no other skin on the body that reacts like this. My idea then is if the Armadillo can transport disease thru its pads and the hydrogen peroxide is reacting to our finger tips is the same true for HUMANS. It is just an idea, and at this time nobody can PROVE it right or wrong. I would like to see a study done on perfectly clean hands that touch nothing and see what forms of bacteria form on the finger tips, the print area.

Default Baby with Morgellons Disease

Someone sent me this. Of course I don't know for sure if this baby actually does have Morgellons, but it does look like it.
You'd think that this would raise some red flags in the medical world - maybe they think the baby has DOP.

Default Babys born with it

I am sure many babys are born with it, you can see by the picture that the thing is already developed thruout the body completly as the malady forms ALONG WITH the body. It may explain why some now have the lesions on the torso. I have had NONE on my torso just the appendeges. This babys life will most likely will be plagued by syptoms of all kinds. How many generations will it take to regain control over this horrid disease or are we just waiting for BIG BROTHER to release the killer biological catalist.
