Thank you everyone for all the help. I know my friend has joined things on line and gets news letters and such but I'm not sure what sites. I am so nervous about this that I have literally written to about a dozen sites that deal with this. So far I have gotten back a couple of letters each with mixed idea's.
the symptoms my friend has aside from the stinging and black dot's and threads is fatigue.. I'm not sure of anything else but there could be more. She has not talked a lot about it with me.
As a matter of fact till last week I had thought she did not have it at all. she had been concerned at first about it but then after taking some medication from a Dr. for scabies it had seemed to be clearing up. she did not really mention it afterwards so I forgot about it. Till she was in my house and she had the fibers coming out of her hands and she brushed them off all over my kitchen floor and it sent me into a panic in my head.
She has read up on this a lot, her mother is the type to research every detail and be very very informed. She knows I am sure everything thus far that is to be known about this. I wanted to be sure I was as well informed so I could make a decision based on fact and what little is known instead of my gut reaction and fear.
What I am most afraid of is Both she and her mother are VERY sensitive people. Broaching the subject of my even being concerned could cause a fight with her mother and desperately hurt her feelings. I'm just not sure how to handle that. these are people I have loved for most of my life. But now as others have pointed out my first concern should be for the safely of my own child. This is a very upsetting situation and I thank you all for taking the time to write and help me. I understand a lot of you are dealing with this Disease yourself or for loved ones and its hard to even say or think that you or your loved one could spread it.
thank you so much for helping me.

Default for sure

If I was your very good friend and you explained how scared you were for your babys health, it would be my duty as your friend to understand. Untill the situation has cleared up, AND truly be known if it can easily be transfered to another I would not go to your home. There is for me an issue with dateing, even though this is for me a super long term disease, (early signs of it 35 years ago) but came out with very bad problems 6 years ago, I have ceased to seek a partner. This has gone on for 5 years, one of the reasons is I could not stand to be seen at all. The other reason is I am afraid to harness any woman with an illness so horrid. Many would like to think it is not transfered by body fluids. That is dam near a laugh, in my mind sex and birth are the main vectors of transmission. If this disease could be spread by casual contat or brushing up against a fibered fellow, then we would all be infested. I almost belive there may be a genetic disposition to advance the disease to fibrous and lesion mode.
You are faced with a very hard job to tell your friend about your feelings. I know she is probably out of her mind right now with worry, and her confidence is probably at an all time low. Illness is a hard to face when you are pushed away by the ones you care for. My own sister acts like I will infect her, so when I see her I chase her, its fun, but I never do catch her as I know she is truly scared, but it is FUN. I can actually make her run around the kitchen table, LOL. You youself may also be infested already, from birth or sexual contact but show no real signs of the lesions or fibers, there are MANY other signs, loss of hair, exzema, itching, ITCHING EARS, heavy pimpled forhead and face, alopecia, a red spot on the skin that takes forever to heal, red shiny dots on the skin, you do not have to have black dots and fibers.

This is somthing NEW and may be a sign of getting a newer stronger strain, who knows, we don't nobody actually does. There are some SIMPLE TESTS to find involvment I try to have everyone I know try to find the BUMPS going down the SHIN BONE. When I was very bad off the BUMPS were very noticeable when I put my finger on this bone and ran up and down it. Since I have been getting a bit better it seems the bumps have gone away. The other test is done with a black light, you can just go inside a dark room and look at yourself, your B/F, the baby and your friend. If you are covered with a yellow hue, or piles of short thread like fuzz that will NOT wipe off easy or move that IS part of it.

You could still have it and not show these things. The yellow hue I had 33 years ago and the fibers, but now the fiber part is GONE, just the yellow hue remains, this is with the light right on my skin on the head. I do not know if the yellow is shampoo or soap but it does not seem to be. Last but not least there is the 35% hydrogen peroxide test in the ears, it quickly showes that the lesions are living UNDER the skin, growing, some day they may open, maybe not.

When your baby is born check its skin very well for keratosis, (little white pimples on the back of the arms) not a good sign, or other skin anomolies. I prayed that my child would be born normal with all arms and legs and nothing extra. While I was asking god for a perfect baby I forgot one thing, to ask him to make sure she did not grow up to be a meanager and then an angry adult, woops!

Here is the real dilema will you now keep everyone that is suspect out of your home????

I'm pretty sure my daughter was born with this after about 3 weeks her skin became dry, rough with raised bumps under it.This was diagnosed as congenital ichthyosis. They gave her E45 and oil baths-didn't make any difference. She had scarlet fever and I understand she had glandular fever three years ago.Looking at her now she has a suspiciously red face.Early teens also saw the large amounts of white skin like stuff coming from legs. Her tights were always covered in it.
Endless ear infections as a baby/toddler and endless antibiotics given.

Default There is more

My daughter was also covered with bumps and they said it was quite NORMAL, yeah for baby's that are born with somthing! Then also on her neck she had a growth like a pea. I had it taken off but the idiot doctor spared the scaple and now there are like black dots going from that spot up her neck. Then she also had the ear problems, yeast infections as a youngster and most recently MRSA.
