That's a good question. I don't think anyone will take us serious enough to even try. Actually, we don't even take ourselves seriously after a while. |

| Just thought I'd share an interesting observation... Since I started the antiparasitics and doxycyclene, my symptoms have decreased substantially. However, I am not seeing the same dramatic degree of reaction, but more subtle ones. What I am seeing, is some "tradeoff" with certain symptoms. For instance, my hands are very much improved, with the paper cuts gone, and the horrible soreness too. However, I have developed a very slight, small rash on my right forearm now. It hasn't gotten worse, but hasn't gotten any better. Also, I have always had a hard time with bruising and slow rate of healing. Now bruises heal very rapidly, but wounds where the skin is broken do not. I had several warts right above both elbows for years, which are now completely gone. But my eyes are bothering me a bit more lately. Still, overall I think I may be improving incrementally overall and will just have to continue to watch and observe. |

| Hi Anne,I would suggest that you never touch your eyes with a fingertip that hasn't been rinsed prior to touching. The rash is usually from scratching a small itchy spot that spreads from the touch.3 antibiotic on the rash area and kept there until it clears.Any amber goo needs to be wiped off with a paper towel and reapplieed with the salve.I use the saline solution in my eyes and it seems to work quite well.I feel too good today and I almost feel guilt for experiencing this new feel good state of being. My email is full of new sufferers that are so afraid of what's happening with them.I'm referring them all to MDR as this is THE PLACE to come to for help.We don't lways agree here on mdr but such is life.I've also learned from Anne to try and keep things on the lighter side as we don't need to further upset these new individuals that are coming here.I view our current state of affairs as being progessive with our thinking and our approach to M. |

| Thanks Scab. I never touch my eyes without a clean tissue or clean fingers. The eye issue is more vision-related, not irritation. The rash is almost unnoticeable, and is not open, or even moist at all; but more like a dry, scaly patch, just a small, inch-wide area. Glad you're feeling good. Try to hang onto it! Quote:

| I know exactly where you are coming from about uour eyes and the response was for the general public more than you as I know that you have a handle on this M thing. Here's some good news for all of us.The eye problem where the vision has diminished goes away after a few weeks of the treatment is ehind us.Mine has returned in the last 2 weeks to what it was prior to M being in them.I feel better now than when I was 30yrs old.The local gals had better get in touch as I'm back,Humor! The slight rash,in my opinion, being that I'm aware of where you are with the time schedule, will be gone shortly.Let us know if I'm correct in the following days. Thanks Anne for being such a wonderful friend and teacher. You're #1 in my book. |

At the time, I didn't know anything about Morgellons. It was during this time that the fibers started to exit my body but not until a week after taking the Albenza. I didn't sleep or eat for days and thought I was going to die. I was convinced that parasites were migrating under my skin since it was an antiparasitic that I was taking. I had white puffy areas and circles where the crawling sensation were and red streaks shaped in a V formation. Also, my eyes immediately puffed up, turned red and had a discharge after taking the medication. I coughed up clear jelly sacs that had some kind of seeds in them (this is still happening). I had a rash on my left wrist which produced all kinds of white crap and the fibers. I had a double line indentation on my right arm that lasted until a week after taking the Albenza. My husband and I watched this line stretch and contract. It would stretch to my thumb and spit out a spiderweb like white fiber. We watched it grow from the skin. The line also stretched around my elbow and caused my little pinky to contract. This was the worst time in my life. Not only did I think I was going crazy but my family did as well. I became obsessed with what was happening to me and bought a microscope to "figure it out" which yielded no explanation. I took many, many pictures. I have tried to forget what I experienced and pretend that it was just a reaction or herx from the medication but now every time I take anything, I get the same response. I have tried antibiotics, same response. I have recently tried Flagyl given to me for a confirmed case of Blastos in my stool, same response. I am unable to take anything for fear of this happening again... I don't think I could survive it. But now, I have confirmed cases of certain infections and scared to take the medication for them. My logical, medical mind tells me that it's just a reaction of some kind but the research I have done and the experience I have in the medical field does not explain what this reaction is other than the suspicion that there is something under my skin.. alive. Even the Leishmania that I have been told I may have doesn't explain the symptoms that I get during treatments. I only shared this because Ann, your description of herx brought back the horror and was the closes thing to what I experienced so I was wondering if anyone else has had this bad of a reaction that lasts more than a few days. If I knew for sure that the worst of it would go away after a few days, I would force myself to take the meds but, as mentioned above, it lasted until the medication wore off approx 3 weeks and then I had the continuing symptoms of M, vision problems plus swallowing issues ever since (which is bad enough). The Albenza seemed to just irritate whatever is going on with me. I have researched allergic reactions and the only thing that comes close is angioedema but even that doesn't explain all of it. Besides, if it is an allergic reaction, how come it happens with everything I take? I can't possibly be allergic to everything. Is there anyone out there who has experienced similar reactions or can explain what is causing it? |

| Wow, Meagan, that must have been extremely difficult to deal with. I am so sorry to hear about your suffering. I recently took albenza for two weeks and did not have these severe reactions though I did have some side effects which will be checked out in some other testing soon. In fact I did not see that much from using this medication though I did have something exit my eyes (a sharp sting and I could then wipe out something??) and from my skin too. I also saw what looked like wire worms. Perhaps because I have used herbs as well as ivermectin in the past for parasites I did not have quite as much of a parasite load nor do I have the exact parasite infections. Also every day I use two TCM formulas to help clean out the small and large intestines and this probably makes a difference too as far as parasite load. It is possible that if you try these medications again later (under close physician supervision in case you run into trouble) that you will find your reactions have lessened somewhat after the initial use of the medications. Surely some of the parasite burden has been killed off after all that. Maybe just give it a rest for a bit and then try again. Just a thought. quote=MeaganM;89336]When I took the Albenza (rx from a doctor), I had what I thought was a horrible herx that lasted weeks. I had visible things in my urine and very, very painful crawling sensations where it felt like things were migrating under the skin to exit the body. The face was the worst. The presumed migration focused towards my nose and eyes and I literally had open sores on the side of my nose where it appeared things were trying to exit through the membrane. At one point, I had something that appeared to squirm in and out of the side of my nose in which my husband saw and tried to extract with tweezers. I also had things exiting my tongue causing bleeding and excruciating pain. At the time, I didn't know anything about Morgellons. | You are quite perceptive, very intelligent, well versed and I believe that you, after you heal up some, will be a major contributor to the understanding of Morgellons.I can explain all your symptoms in a manner with pics that you can relate to and understand.I also believe and percieve that you have one of the worst cases of morgellons that i have ever met, that is in the net, met!Wow,what difficult times you have been through and survived. You are one strong lady! No wonder the herx response was so powerful.Your albendazole was wrong for you as it aggravated the worms and lfs that are under your skin, and in every part of your body.In a way you are more morgellons life form than a human life form. Many of us morgies have often stated and thought that the lf is possibly in some far out way, intelligent.O say this because when I was at my worst point and more m than human,I seemed to almost or did understand things that normally I would not have even considered.I hope I'm coming across in a way that conveys my understanding of what's happening with us when we get full blown M. The cocktail that I reccomend for improving our health is the correct mix of antiparasitics and may not cause the tremendous herx response that you once had.I won't guarantee this or see the need for your overly amount of concern other than it scared the heck out of you.M is a horror show so what is inside you is quite a hell to remove. My question to you is,can you once again handle this herx response? For you to heal, you must expell these lfs no matter where they are or how frightening it is to expel them. They are deep inside every part of your being and they must find or create a pathway for them to exit.I've been through this and it wasn't fun then but it is now.I can assure you that it isn't a case of which will be the worst, the cureor the curse.M only gets worse if left untreated! Once again,I have pics of all that you speak about and will share with you and the mdr family. What can I do to help alleviate some of your fears and struggle? I can help if you will let me.There's nothing in it for me except for you to rejoin the real world and be happy once again. Please let me know of any pics or knowledge of what I understand that you would like to see or talk about. SD. |

I felt a lot of pain in spine and kidney and some stabbing neck/headaches, as well as intermittent pain in chest, which finally subsided after I had a bowel movement. Nothing was produced in elimination that I could see. But for two days after I felt as if I had swallowed a balloon. Some of my symptoms have decreased after taking it, but getting there was painful. It makes me wonder if I should reduce the dosage and go slower. It may be overwhelming my body, making whatever this is freak out. I know some worry about resistance to the drug, but I don't think it's easy to convert dosages made for animals for humans. We may be overdoing it. |
