Default Help-Stool test came back positive for Entamoeba Histolytica

The Doc wants me to take Flagyl - A antibiotic to clear this thing up for 10 days.

My insurance is Kaiser so they did the testing.

---------------

What should I do?

I have had the Lint/Itching/Black Specs so I am pretty sure I have Morgellons and maybe this is just a co-infection?

I am a afraid of taking Antibiotics especially when I have M and of potential Side Effects... but I don't know if I have a choice?

---------------

What are the effective natural ways to rid one self of Entamoeba Histolytica?

Hmm looks like I need to buy some Goldenseel... but would that alone be enough? Maybe wormwood too?

Ten days of flagyl may help you get rid of this infection more quickly, especially if you have the described symptoms of Entamoeba Histolytica. I do not think this short course of flagyl is going to do anything which increases your M symptoms. In fact if this treats a severe intestinal infection it may even slow down or eliminate some of your external symptoms. You can always switch to the herbs later.

Default Antibiotic

My last Docter gave me a low dose antibiotic that she gave to those suffering from acne. I took it for three months and started feeling dried out with very low energy. The M was slightly better and when I stopped taking it, I got really better.....for about a week.

Default flagyl

Fables,

I have already shared my routine and listed what I am taking for this, but I will add that, after I complete my six-week course of doxy, I will be starting a course of Flagyl, at a minimum of 10 days as well. It is not recommended that the two are taken together, as there is some evidence that the Flagyl (metronidazole) counteracts the doxycyclene. Even though both are used to treat certain diseases like Lyme, they are not taken at the same time. Some research shows that is effective in treating the encysted entities associated with Lyme, as well as a myriad of other uses, including a potent anti-fungal.

Caution: do NOT consume or use any alcohol while taking it.

BSA, could you tell us what antibiotic did you take for M symptoms and what were your symptoms at that time? It is very frustrating for us to figure out what might help our symptoms, but in the case of the originator of this thread the drug the doctor prescribed is being used to treat a specific known disease organism his patient had and which was determined through lab testing. I assume the doctor picked out this particular antibiotic because it is known to treat entamoeba histolytica. Keeping that in mind hopefully this drug will work to at least stop the possible severe symptom this person may be experiencing, especially since bloody diarrhea is one serious symptom of this disease. When very ill sometimes it is best to use a drug, at least to slow down the initial infection.

I also plan on taking the flagyl after the doxy. It's not easy to obtain so if you can get a script, I'd take it.
