Tonight my 10 yr old was grabbing at his throat and I asked him if he was okay. I have never talked about M or any of my symptoms around him. As a matter of fact, I don't even talk about it since my "M" symptoms began 8 months ago... my family doesn't want to hear it and I don't want to worry them. I continue on with the massive pain and weirdness and "pretend" everything is okay.
I asked my son what was wrong with him and he said that his throat itched. He has had problems with his tonsils in the past so I asked him if it was a sore throat. He said "no Mom, it just itches". I asked if it was itching inside like a tickle in the throat and he said "no, it's on the outside. I get this all the time. It's like a bug bite but different. It comes and goes but it's deep and I can't get rid of it for awhile but it goes away. It happens on my arms and legs too"
He told me that his ear itched as well. I told him to get a Q-tip and see if that helps. he said, "no Mom, it's a deep down itch that nothing will help."
I know that there is someone out there that reads these blogs who knows what is going on. If so, please think of the children who are suffering from this. Please think about the ramifications of this disease and how it is affecting the next generation. Please, please speak up!
