| Worms That Resemble Hair in Humans Print this article Some worms can feed inside humans. Worms that look like human hair are nematodes. These worms are considered a parasite since most require a host for survival and in some cases, humans become hosts. Nematodes are the most numerous multi-cellular animals on Earth, according to the University of Nebraska. Hookworms and roundworms are the hair-like parasitic worms that infect humans. Related Searches: Types There are more than 5,000 species in the phylum nematoda family, according to the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural. Worms that live in the soil are beneficial to the agricultural industry, but worms that infect humans compete for your nutrients and cause severe discomfort ranging from anal itching, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea and malaise. Hookworms live in contaminated soils and can penetrate the skin of humans. Roundworms infect humans by hand-to-mouth transmission. Identification The large numbers of worms in the nematode family make it nearly impossible to identify each species. If you pick up a handful of soil, you will be holding thousands of worms although you can't see them because of their microscopic size. Not all nematodes are microscopic. Nematodes can range from .01 inches to more than 24 feet, according to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Their anatomy looks like a skinny tube inside a tube. Hookworm hosts on humans with its six sharp teeth and roundworms look similar to earth worms. Hookworms There are 576 to 740 million people in the world infected with hookworms, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If the hookworms are found in large numbers in the human body, they can block the lymphatic system causing life-threatening edema. Hookworms enter through the skin, usually the feet, and move through the veins to the heart and lungs. Then the hookworms ascend to the pharynx where it is swallowed and enters the digestive system, where it grows in the small intestines. If you have a light infestation of hookworms, there are usually no symptoms. However, a heavy infestation can cause abdominal pain, appetite loss, weight loss and anemia. Hookworms are treated with anthelminthic medications, such as albendazole and mebendazole. Treatment typically lasts one to three days. Roundworms Roundworms can affect anyone regardless of economic or social status. Pinworms are the most common parasitic roundworm infection in the United States, affecting about one-third of children in some areas, according to Cleveland Clinic. Roundworms enter the body by being swallowed. The female worms deposits eggs in the anus before leaving the body. This causes itching, and when the person scratches the anus and then places his fingers in his mouth, the cycle of roundworms begins. This infection is easily spread in day care facilities, so sanitation and personal hygiene is the key for prevention. If you have infected children in your household, be sure to wash their clothes and bedding daily to prevent others in your house from getting infected. Creams may be prescribed to relieve anal itching. Medbendazole and pyrantel pamoate are medicines given for roundworm infections. | I found long hairs mixed in my stool, I am doing a natural anti parrasite treatment. You can buy it any where. It is black walnut, worm wood and clove. One has to be on it for 18 days, no parrasite die off symptoms. Look up the protocol on line, easy to find. This is cheap stuff, I paid $16 for all three items. I think we are getting some where guys! |

| Put a "beneficial nematodes "in search box Click on first PDF file. Very interesting indeed . No disproportionate effects are expected for minority, low income populations, or children due to the release of F. turneri/F. quinquenerviae. USDA - Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) - Biotechnology Once biological control agents such as F. turneri/F. quinquenerviae is released into the environment and becomes established, there is a slight possibility it could move from the target plant to non-target plants and itself become a pest. Host shifts by introduced weed biocontrol agents to unrelated plants are uncommon (Pemberton, 2000). However, if a host shift were to take place, the resulting effects could be environmental impacts that may not be easily reversed. Recent studies have highlighted the ecological risks associated with classical biological control (e.g. Louda et al., 2003a, b), but where damage to nontarget plant species has occurred, it has resulted from imported insects that have adapted to eat physiologically acceptable but less preferred and less suitable hosts, in situations where the "preferred" host is not present (Louda et al., 2003b). Laboratory host range testing has repeatedly been shown to accurately predict physiological host range, even though such tests may not always accurately predict ecological host range under field conditions (Pemberton, 2000; Louda et al., 2003a, b). | Yeah, we are getting somewhere all right and it looks to be a repeat of a protocol many of us have already tried with only a bit of improvement. Hardly worth the money unless making up the herbs yourself and saving a lot of dollars that way. 1 pound of wormwood will make at least 8 bottles of tincture for about the price of one bottle off the shelf in the health food store. Shop around for quality bulk herbs and you will save a lot over buying prepared herbals. This matters when you have to use a formula long term to obtain any results at all. Unfortunately for M symptoms these herbs are not a cure. They are not even close to one. quote=Janice;87539]I found long hairs mixed in my stool, I am doing a natural anti parrasite treatment. | This chart may be a little difficult to read, so I will look for a better one. The reason you have to do this at least 3 times, is nematoads can go into a dormant state when conditions are bad,( I.e. anti parrasitics ) and live for up to a year in this state. That is why some people have their symptoms return, they don't know this. So space out your treatments so you can get them all. |
