| Thanks Sammy, Over time, please can you report if it helps without re-application, or how long before scalp symptoms return etc...? Its a steroid spray - so heavy use may lower the body's immune system apparently: Home : About Us Thanks Jo |

| Jo, I am glad you mentioned that kenalog contains a steroid. I have great concerns about any of us using anything with steroids, as I have found mention on the internet that steroids can worsen lyme symptoms, probably because these drugs do lower the immune system. Many with Morgellons have been diagnosed with cases of lyme. I worry that even those who tested negative could have had a false result from testing, as it is well known also that lyme tests, even those which are considered better, are unreliable at best. Also, since parasites seem to be involved for some, I would like to mention that the parasite strongyloides stercoralis sometimes is tied into infections involving klebsiella and e. coli. I have found some case studies which show some patients (not specifically those with M) have these infections in tandem with this parasite. I thought perhaps that Frito might be interested in that connection since she had positive results with these two bacterial infections. This particular parasite (S. Stercoralis) will hyperproliferate if a patient has this parasite and steroid drugs are then used. So I would personally be very careful about using steroids in any form. Recently a doctor gave me an inhaler for allergies. When I got home I learned it contained a steroid drug. I am giving it a miss, even though he gave me a small sample to try as well as a prescription.

Success is often short lived with steroid treatment and repeated 6 months later when the problem returns. Talking about the parasite element of morgellons. I know steroids are sometimes used in treatment, particularly in parasitic eye infections (inc.myiasis) - but with varying degrees of benefit/success. This production is interesting: www.tropmed.org/primer/chapter10-2.pdf It mentions the use of steroids in the treatment of cestode infection (Cyticercus cellulosae) and the filarial infection (Onchocerca volvulus). Interesting that steroids were used to treat hyperproliferation of S. Stercoralis TCM. From what I've read, a range of parasites may migrate away from the site of a steroid injection, but not neccessarily die. And we know that some folks with a heavy load of morgs have felt very poorly from steroids they were prescribed. This is why it would be good to get feedback from Sammy's use of kenalog. If the scalp symptoms didn't return after brief application it maybe worth further thought etc. Jo Last edited by Jo; November 5th, 2011 at 01:02 PM. |

| Isn't testosterone cypionate a steriod? I've used the injectable form for 3.5yrs now and during that time my healing has been steady and now I am barely affected by M.I went from the worst case to the best case possible. |

Scabg - I didn't know you had regular steroid injections. So do you think they have reduced your symptoms?? No herx reaction at first use - any other observations? I thought things started to turn around for you a year ago and ivermectin paste was a major player??! Jo |
