Why was Mr Common Sense's Call to action thread locked?

Respectfully, I am curious as to why this thread:

was locked without explanation. I would have thought a well grounded motion to help us all is exactly what we need. He is an insightful blogger and not (as far as I know having read his material for several years) in the business of pushing any particular brand of snake oil (as far as I am aware).

When I used to moderate a popular forum, I would always post a clear explanation when editing or locking threads. Not only is it polite, it helps others users learn forum rules.

I hope this is not taken in the wrong way, but is simply a query.

I would not care if it was two drunks and a leaper being sent to Washington, its worth trying.

Nobody has really done anything as of yet, nothing that made a hill of beans.
