Interesting phenomenon This was interesting so I thought I'd share:
I was on the way home from counseling and had to stop at the store. I use a "Hot Shot No Pest Strip" in the car every few days to keep the critters in check. I hang it in there when I'm at work, and then take it down and put it in a sealed zip lock. Very potent insecticide, but very effective. Anyhow, I noticed that my eyes were under attack more than usual, and also more crawliness. In the sun, I could see tons of the white, floating dust motes in the car. So I took out the pest strip and immediate. all of them fell to the floor/seats. One was floating in the back, and I just moved the strip a bit closer, and I fell down. In seconds, there were none floating around anymore. I was fascinated.
I must say that although this is effective, I don't recommend it as it is a known carcinogen and thus, counteractive to my attempts at improving immunity. So I am looking for another alternative. I also use this in my office space, again when noone is there and take it down on Monday morning.
Any ideas as to why they all reacted that way? I think it actually killed them. But they just look like regular dust motes...
Also, any other suggestions to control car infestation? The strip has no odor, which is great since my car is new... |
