Question A few questions...

What product, be it supplements, cleaning products, body care, etc., do you find the most beneficial and what symptom does it treat?

Also, I don't know about you all, but I probably read about a novel a week while in the bath. I'm running out of good stuff to read. Can anyone recommend an author? I usually don't get too thinky(yes, THinky, not kinky), due to the fact that I can't focus too well anymore. I had to drop out of college because of this wonderful disease. I went from getting mostly A's, to getting D's and F's.

Also, an update for you wonderful people who recommended the anti fungal products for us: we are still improving. My daughter itches a lot less now. She's still fussy so she's probably feeling a little bad, but we're improved from just last week. The feeling of insulation on my face is completely gone now, which I'm super excited about. It's been driving me nuts for a long time. I am feeling a few "bites" on my lower legs and fingers, which I seriously think is the fungus. As I touch things that haven't been properly cleaned (keyboard) I get a sting.

Also, last night I touched the back of my neck, felt a sting, and looked at my finger and saw a white elongated bump under my skin. I took some tweezers and pulled out a white dot. It was odd and I thought I needed to mention it. It felt the same as the stinging I'd get on my hand if I touched my hair, only it actually stayed on my finger and I could see it. It's really strange so I thought I'd share it. Some kind of defense mechanism, maybe? Or am I getting new things to come to the surface that I haven't seen before?

Default The very hot baths and salt/baking soda and tea tree oil.

The baths are good , REAL good, one to 3 a week, you can buy your salt at Walmarts, POOL salt, pool salt is for people to swim in so there you go.

You may also switch the contents every once in a while to baking soda, not baking powder, baking soda.

NOW here is some magic, buy some real cheap clear shampoo, white rain, whatever, it do not matter, before you sit in the tub, get in while standing in the water use one box of three that you will add to the water to first add to the shampoo.

Here is the way to work it, grab a big hand of baking soda, pour the shampoo on top it will dissolve and spread very easy this way, put it on your head and scrub down your whole body, adding soap and baking soda.

then relax in the tub with all three boxes of baking soda in the water.

Tea tree oil also works wonders in that same bath.

When you are done do not drain the tub let it sit, come back in when all the suds have died down, you will most likely see hairs spinning all by themselves, in clumps, like they are magnitized.

Slowely drain the tub, your looking for residue, there is gonna be alot from 3 boxes of baking soda, it will also be off color, do not imagine anything, you will be looking for black specks, and any other weird garbage.

WHY, so you can tell when the load in your skin is getting less and less.

So you can drink one beer a week for a job well done.

The tea tree addition to the water seemed to really get out the specks.

If you have a cheap hand heald microscope you can enjoy all your new toys you did not even know you had.

Polly, what kind of antifungals are you using for you and your daughter? I am especially interested in the one on your face... do you use it on your daughter as well? I have that insulation feeling that drives me crazy. Also, do you use it in your hair?

Yes, please let me know what type of anti fungals you are using.

Also, unfortunately, I have no bathtub and so am unable to soak like that. I am limited to long, very hot showers using a loofah and various tea-tree related soaps and shampoos...

Default Antifungals

I looked up over the counter skin and hair antifungals and salicylic acid popped up, so i went to the store and checked all the products for the ingredient and this is what i found:

Dermarest shampoo for psoriasis has 3% salicylic acid, use this on the hair(yes,i use this on my daughter, but in lesser quantities).

Phisoderm body wash. I use this like bubble bath for me, not my daughter, she likes to drink the bathwater. Yuck, i know. So ill rub her down with a little and rinse and get her out immediately.

Any moisturizer with salicylic acid. They will be lower amounts since they stay on the skin. Between .05 and 1%. i use some generic brand from Target.

St. Ives makes several cleansers with salicylic acid ingredient. One has green tea that i like. They also have the scrubbing beads inside one too.

This is not a cure by any means, but it does help. This fungus is tenacious, so im looking for another product to alternate with that works, so it doesnt adapt.

Have you guys read about chlamydia pneumonia treatment at vanderbilt? I was surprised to read about it since one of the drs at the hospital was the one that gave me the dp diagnosis. Maybe it was my symptoms. I thought i had parasites back then. Bug parasites. I know yeast and fungus are parasites, too. I think we are giving the wrong symptoms initially. It takes awhile to figure this thing out for yourself to know ehat you need help with.

Tea tree never did a thing for me. It helped others, though. I guess i didnt have the same symptoms. Theraneem lotion is my number one product. I use it every night to rub the crap out of my skin.
