Question Stages of Morgellons?

I'm new and have searched the forums, but I apologize if there is a thread that I missed about this topic. Has anyone done a post or poll on the stages of Morgellons? I'm curious because I have reached a point where I'm feeling better and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this and their symptoms were on some kind of cycle. I guess I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Default The itching fiber disease

I put that as my heading because 39 years ago in Asia I was attacked by this disease, itching and fibers and alot of other things.

The itching was intense and the fibers were hidden untill I got out in the bars under a black light, OMG, a darling woman friend toldme about the fibers, I went home got my hippy light out and saw what I looked like, I was a mess.

I cleaned out my familys washer and dryer, cleaned the filters, stoped using fluffy towels, used linen to dry with then a hair drier, nothing would stop the fibers coming out of my pores.

I did not know at the time they were coming out of me then, but now I know what they are.

From this point on there were all kinds of everything, it would come and go, most time I was just perfect other times I was not.

There was, exzema, cherry anginomas early on, there were eye problems, hair issues, stinging hair, mouth problems, tongue, skin on the front of my legs felt like they had a grid under the skin, little like perfectly spaced and perfect pattern tiny lumps.

Gall bladder came out, bone spurs, planters wart on bottom of foot, gums receeding, carrple tunnel, fibramialga, loss of use of my arm for quite some time, low blood pressure high blood pressure, low heart beat and so many other little items

I do not know if I have been afflicted with a stronger and more virulent form of this disease, then it seems that way, but I have other items to draw on, I was treated with steroids for 5 years, first for a car accident that injured a joint and then for skin ailments that were brought out by the treatments.

Do you have the little red dots on your skin, they are called Cherry anginomas, the material inside them looks exactly like the material inside the lesions, could the lesion/TUMOR material just be large Cherry Anginomas.

Needless to say I was subfected to this at 18 I had a long long time to let it get out of hand and allowed long term steroid use to accentuate the results of growth and allow other issues to become more prevelent.

I would say there are stages, Hey pollyringworm, where are you at in this plague.

I went from the initial itching so bad i wanted to rip my skin off, which now i know is the blue fibers found on top of skin, to biting, relentless crawling in eyes, ears, backside and nose. That lasted about a month. Then i would feel the movement on my lower legs like something was landing or taking off. I now only wear long pants to keep it to a minimum, and remove the goo each night with theraneem lotion.

Then i gradually saw my symptoms decrease. Why, i dont really know. Some combination of my protocol was working. I still see "lint" in the house and car, but it doesnt bother me as much. Most of my success is probably related to my new organic diet.

Right now i have some movement on my scalp, but its manageable. It used to be so much worse. Yes, my hair does bite me on occasion, too. I also have hair that has turned white or totally clear, with the goo at the base. My teeth are super sensitive, my feet sting on occasion when i walk through the house, my fingers sting every now and then and crawl a little, the top of my head is super tender and forms hard bumps. I itch a lot when im not on my atarax.

I had a lesion that expelled a worm like thing about six weeks ago. Once it cleared out the worm, it healed. I have three scars on my ankles from bites in the car. No new lesions, just the feeling that something is on my face and in my nose. I used to see a lot of crystal pieces around but thats gone.

Im so tired. I have to sleep. Ill edit this post tomorrow when i can stay awake.

Default As the world turns

The spots on the head spewing amber guck that dries came about 10 years into my infection. It was not instant.

My G/F in the 1980s got itching and then all of her signs went away, all of them and she was fine for a long time untill all of this started working on her.

Her mind is wiped out and she fights it as she knows there is somthing wrong inside her brain, she has had little open lesions that open and close, she scrubs all her skin all the time with some kind of scratchy pad for removing dead skin. There is one thing that is surprising, she has all her hair.

There were other issues, she addressed them one at a time with the best doctors and piles of money, huge piles of money and she is now destitute.

I have tried to tell her about what she has but she screams me down, she still believes in the doctors words, its nothing, its normal, many people in my country have such things.

The doctors have treated her for normal third world parasites, then she has never been out of the country, her normal everyday parasitic involvment is gone, her skin looks pretty good, but how can you really inspect a freckled woman. One problem , she is so skinny I am afraid she is not going to live too long.

These are the results of having this 30 years.

Yes, the disease is stealthy, Pollyringworm, remember any skin problems long ago, remember any skin issues long ago, remember changes in your vaginal issues long ago, period changes, unnatural dryness, stickyness.

Go back in time and remember all strange items on or in your body, they do not have to go on for a long time but can, they do not have to return after healing, hair problems, allopecia, bumps on the back of your arms, eye dryness, red dots on the skin, formation of new freckeles or moles, dry skin, dandruff, ringing ears, itching ears, the list goes on and on.

Default Hair

When you talk about hair issues, what do you mean? My three year olds hair is covered in the white dots and looks like its been eaten. Its broken off close to her scalp and i do not overcomb it or pull it at all.

Default trichosporon infections

Polly, I thought you might like to look at this which was a search I did on a derm site. Does your daughter's hair look like any of this? If so it could be a type of yeast infection called white piedra caused by yeast from the Trichosporon species. As it mentions on this page sometimes this is also found on groin and axillary hair of the body, less commonly on the scalp though if involved it can grow on the hair shaft too:

dermatlas.med.jhmi.edu/derm/files/WHITE_PIEDRA.htm

Here's medscapes discussion of trichosporon infections:

emedicine.medscape.com/article/230705-overview

I am so sorry to hear that your little daughter has been affected by these symptoms too. It's hard enough when we are sick, but when we hear of young children suffering well, that's never good news to hear.

To answer one of your questions, I am not sure that when you feel nearly recovered it's a stage. A lot of us experience this, but then quite often something else will come to the surface, sometimes bringing back old symptoms or in other cases new ones. So far there is no total cure and remissions while present allow us to enjoy life more fully. I think it's extremely important when feeling better not to overdo so that periods of nearly normal health last longer. Until we know more it's very hard to predict when health cycle down again nor do we truly understand what the triggers for these up and down cycles are.

Default You guys are so wonderful

Thank you so much for that post! It could very well be yeast. I can't tell you how great it is to find a board full of so many people willing to help others. It really means a lot to me. I have felt so alone with this.

I appreciate your responses to my questions. It helps to know what could possibly be the next stage, so I'm not so afraid when it happens. This is an awful disease. Thank you again.

Polly - welcome. I am sorry to hear about you and your daughter. There is a group of us here who have scalp issues similar to what you are describing. Check out the scalp thread - I think it's a subset of the treatments thread - lots of good advice there!
