Default Why some won't believe...

I have had Morgellon's for several years, but just recently discovered what is was. I've only talked to a couple of my family about it. I almost hate for them to go near the internet to check it out because of all the crazy theories that abound.

I really like this forum, and have learned a great deal here. However, even though the following quote is from an older post, I'd hate for someone who is skeptical, or for someone I've just told that I have this, to read it.

Quote--"I don't know if you saw what I posted about finding a replica of a crocheted angel that hung on my vanity mirror, lying directly below it on the dresser, made of nothing but green peices of lint or fuzz...It was about an inch and a half tall, and had arms, wings, head with hair and halo, and also had a gown and the only thing that wasn't a peice of green fuzz, was a little peice of white thread, looped in just the same place as the other ornament hanger was. It also had a face on it, and I felt like it was a gift left for me, or it was just to let me know that they were still there...makes u really wonder...as if they had a brain...Kentucky haze"

NO ONE would take me seriously if they thought I was including myself in a group that believes such stuff! Probably they'd discuss my much needed rest at a facility that includes padded rooms!

People should be careful what they put on the internet. The net is forever!

Default High Five Marsha

LOL, too funny, the very first thing my sister did when she saw me is run to the computer, OMG, the fear on her face when she came around.

I would chase her around the table, first I would start slowly and she tried to move slowly, but then she knew what I was up to, LOL. Too funny, then again I know the fear she feels, she read that bugs were coming out of peoples eyes.

She had fear for herself and family and I do not blame her, but it was fun, LOL, I tried to reassure her, still that did not work.

I find it repulsive that people would post lies on a site like this. but aren't we supposed to be honest also no matter how crazy it sounds? I never in a million years would've believed someone telling me their hair was moving up until recently. So I just want to put it out there. I'm not going to question anyones post because there's some unbelievable stuff involved in morgellons period. if you don't believe it don't reply.

Thank you, Barak, for seeing the humor that I intended in my post! High five back at ya!

As to not commenting on what we don't believe: I KNOW a lot of Morgellons is a bit strange, but posting stuff such as what I quoted will NOT ever get doctors or others in a position to help find a cure to take it seriously. I'm a nurse AND a teacher, and if all I knew of Morgellons was posts like that, I wouldn't even come back to a site like this one. So, everyone is entitled to their opinion...allow me mine.

Default You know, its kinda about credability

Creadability is what we are looking for, what Marsha is talking about is being believed.

Imagine my sister, she has always been a scared little mouse, now, when she went to the computer and put in morgellons up pops a site, the site said, one, we were all crazy, then she went on to another site that said we had all kinds of worms and bugs coming out of our eyes.

People, you may see, feel and talk to a Martian sitting on your shoulder, but if you want the job driving the school bus, do not tell the interviewer for the job, he will not see it as getting two employees for the price of one..

If you are going to the doctor, never ever mention anything that sounds crazy, just stick to the issues.

Its pretty cut and dry, nothing against anyones personal reality, just understand, if your reality does not jive with the other 300,000,000 peoples reality, you may be considered different.

When it comes to wanting to be believed, different will not help this situation, thats just reality.

Step number one to minimize the crazy factor which is often associated with Morgellons:

Maybe try not reposting these types of comments, especially ones which were posted four years ago. Many casual readers of the forum do not look past the current day's posts, so why make it easy for them to see these kinds of comments?

Step number two: If you do repost this type of comment continue reading on the same thread and maybe repost what the MD who has Morgellons said in reply to this comment. I find her good sense reply mitigated some of the damage done by the prior comment. Here's that reply (thanks Dr. Bev, hope you are doing okay if you read this):

Kentucky Haze, Now that is quite an eerie story! Watch out where you share that one.

My hypothesis on it is that your little angel is infested by a single unified colony of parasite. That colony has also infested some other fabrics and clothings or carpets or pillows or blankets around the home; one of which is green. The secondary colony was simply growing together and mimicking the likeness of its parent colony.

You may want to take your sweet angel and zip-lock baggie it with some menthol crystals or Bounce dryer sheets, or soak it in eco-vie.

Just a theory, but a more logical one than the parasites want to send you a message...

Well...I guess educated people who don't believe that fibers communicate and get together to make a little likeness of an image they believe they have come from will be brought to task by new and old members alike. I won't come back here, as, thankfully, there are other sites that do not believe such rubbish as:

That answer, regardless of who wrote it sounds as if she was placating the original poster instead of encouraging her/him to think. I did read it as I have read literally hundreds of posts here over the past several days. But, go on. You don't need new people with a different perspective. Hide here in your own little group, and maybe someday, you'll see the answer to all of this on CNN or somewhere. Because rational people kept it before the public.

Talk about a strange take on what was said by me. I do not believe most of us think what you stated here in your first paragraph...why on earth are you assigning such a belief system to most of the members here? It is insulting as well as generally untrue. I think you are the one who brought back an old post which would have better been left in the archives since, to put it mildly, it does seem strange. Why bring it up again? Or are you trying to make us look weird so you can feel so much more rational than others who have Mogellons? I feel that Dr. Bev's response to this poster was very diplomatic. She also pointed out to the poster that perhaps it was best not to broadcast these thoughts to the general public and even suggested ways to handle the unwanted fuzz. Sort of why it is sometimes best to leave four year old threads, like sleeping dogs, lie. BTW way being educated does not necessarily mean a person possesses greater common sense or has a deeper understanding of Morgellons and its cause nor does it always bestow upon such a person more rational belief systems. This is an equal opportunity disease.

Default There is nothing we gain by being considered KRAZY,

YOU ARE RIGHT TCM, the idea of the post was not to belittle the little angel formation but to help others from going where we have been.

All our members need to be believed, they need to be armed and ready for battle, they do not need to be belittled by family, friends and doctors.

You all remember when you went running like mad, crazed screeming meeeme's telling this and telling that, telling everything that had a face how you were itching and dying and nobody would listen and on and on and on.

Well, did that change or do you run outside in the morning and grab the post man and hold him hostage to MAKE him understand your disease and what you see that seems crazy, but its real, and you want to save the world.

Still, if we went so far as to do all of this we have calmed down now, well most of us have, we settled back and are trying to regain life.

Then what will the people always think of our stories they NEVER should have heard in the first place, if it sounds crazy, well, better to sound not crazy and be crazy, more respect will be given to you.

After all, we know that they are trying to HIDE this situation, you, I and everyone that see's these lesions knows they are real, except for idiots that think we have a INTERNET DISEASE, lol, the first friggin internet disease, LOL.

Later when you call the friends and family, you did not lose because you listened to good old Baraka, you will be much more happy to hold up your cup of Java with your ravaged arm and toast your friends and family that your better now, and there will NOT be somthing in the back of their mind wondering if they should drink that cup of coffee because one of your disease worms may have fallen into their mug.

I would like everyone that has had people disbelieve them and ridicule them to post here things they have learned NOT to do when speaking with doctors and the general public, family members.

Myself, I say this, in fact I have said it many times before, looks like maybe AMY WINEHOSE did read our site, I said to cover your skin problems with a common disease of the skin, IMPITAGO is a good one thats the one AMY WINEHOUSE used, but there are many others, skin cancer, exzema, benign skin tumors ( Benign Skin Tumours | Doctor | Patient UK )

Just look a disease of the skin up and stick with it.
