| Steroids are helpful TO Morgellons. I think that has been noted here before. Things like cortisone creams always made my face worse. Tomorrow I am supposed to have a Psoas block done on this muscle. It is a muscle deep within our core muscles area. I am sure the block includes steroids. Anyone think this is going to make the M worse for me? I never thought of this until now because you know how it is; when you have something scheduled, you forget about it until the day before. NOw I am even worried about the warfarin I take and due to the fact that the needle goes way in deep; could hter be left internal bleeding from the Psoas muscle. Any thoughts would be appreciated. posey

| You gotta do what you gotta do. I guess ...how important is what your having done today, you have to weigh that out in your mind and find the right balance. Is it necessary? Is it just what your doctor thinks is necessary? These guys are out to make money, like any business. BTW cortisone cream has helped me, never bothered me at all. |

| What exactly is the block for a shoulder operation or what. I have had one of these shots it really strange did not like it, but there was a problem with me being put to sleep. I think the stuff they give you also affects morgellons in some way. Better to have the block then to be put down hard. I believe it is dangerous for us. Could it be that it can be affected by sedatives to the point where the systems it has invaded and set up in the system can be turned off by sedating them. It wa really funny, after my two operations, the doctor came to my bed and asked if I felt any problems with my heart, I can only imagine that it shut down or went into wacky world when I was sedated. Make sure you have someone there that will speak up and make sure your getting care. I went alone like a man would and suffered so much incopentence, you have no idea how bad hospital people are. |

What Baraka said is very important. Make sure you have someone there with you after the surgery and that they don't leave until you leave. We have a friend of the family who is only 29 who just had surgery for a blocked colon. While in ICU recovering, her doctor read her EKG, said she was fine and ready to move to another room. Her family went home to take a shower. The doctor read the pre-surgery EKG instead of the post-surgery one. They took her off all monitors and put her in another room until her room was ready. They forgot about her and she was there for 3 hours alone. She had internal bleeding, fluid in the lungs, and a heart attack. They found her barely alive leaning over the bed. Now she is on life support. Not to scare you but Baraka hit it on the head. Even though she had a major surgery, the staff was incompetent. Don't trust them to care for you. Have someone with you at all times. I think a steroid injection should be fine because it targets a specific area. It's the systemic steroids that lowers your immune system. You can ask them to do the block without steroids I think. Good luck Posey. Let us know how it goes. |

| Thanks everyone. First oif all, the Dr doing this is my "good" Dr. He doesn't even weara while coat. He works for himself and has no higher uppers to answer to. This makes a big difference. He knows M is a real disease. However, he is human and humans are not without fault. The block is to find out if my psoas muscles are constricted and if this is why I an not stand up straight or walk far as well as continuous low back and hip pain. It is the only way to know if it is the psoas muscle. My husband would have to come with me to drive because your leg can go numb for awhile. From what I have read doing a search with the words " Psoas block while on Warfarin", I donlt think I am going to have it done tomorrow. It appears there is a high risk of internal bleeding which can happen when you are on blood thinners. I wouldn't even know it being it would be internal. I think I need to wait until I am off of Warfarin befpre havong this procedure. My Dr. worked at a clinic once and a hospital. He quit and said even though he would make more money he would never go back because ther is no real healthcare there. He is a wonderful Dr. One of a kind that there are too few of.
