| Hiya All wanted to share an observation. I deep cleaned my computer room. Examined the dust microscopically. Observed many filaments on my silicone keyboard, the computer tower and LCD monitor which I use daily for 2-3 hours. For 5 days I have been cleaning the keyboard and monitor with alcohol before use and examining what is in the dust at 60x. the weather has this room at 75-85F all the time now, no heat, no a/c. More filaments, M objects, colored shiny crystal objects, black triangles and other "M gunk" is in the dust there than what is emerging in my skin. there is some in the air filter in the room. the highest concentration is on my monitor and keyboard every day. As soon as I observed this I began to treat the area as a point source of infection and am using extreme care when entering, using and leaving the area. My skin itching has subsided significantly with this ONE precation. My wood desk is topped with glass so it can be santized wtih alcohol but there is hardly anything on it - though the keyboard and monitor have quite a bit of fibers material that appear on it between uses. My skin improved significantly with this precaution. I have obsessively examined many areas in my home for a few months with the idea there may be an infection source or nest contributing to a reinfection issue. And learned this is the only place with a significant amount of fibers, other than my skin when I have flare ups. This points to a possible, partial source of the problem. I don't know if there is something in my room or inside the monitor that is "growing" the fibers but they appear to be biologically active in some way, either a product of an organism or they are organisms. Not sure what is going on. Anybody with thoughts to share on this? best regards, Jean Last edited by jeanlong; May 23rd, 2011 at 04:21 AM. |

| they are in the wood, wallpaper glue, old books, etc.once i got these things totally cleaned and/or tossed out, ive been fine.i put filters on the furnace vents. got rid of old wooden desks, peeled wallpaper and painted with BIN, changed the carpets i havent cleaned the attic or the space under my room, but if i could i would. im positive theres water under the house, way too many ways for it to enter.after clearing plants/trees away from my room, that helped a lot.all fabrics go into space bags, i never have a pile of laundry anywhere in the house, clean the dryer vent thingy, vacumn often with a hepa filter.ive always been one to rearrange furniture, so getting those baseboards clean isnt too hard. its a lot of work, but once your room is totally clean, you can work on the hall, bathroom, ( bathrooms are easier because no carpet or curtains,no old wood.) they do sit in computers, tvs, old radios, anything that collects dust, collects morgys. use that compressed air to clean computers/tvs.you can buy it at electronic stores, kmart, etc.rearranging the room makes a huge dofference , youd be surprised where things hide. regular disting just doesnt get into nooks and crannys, or the back of stuff. im not saying take stuff apart, but anything you suspect may have extra critters, put in a space bag, vacum out air and leave it alone for at least a month or two. anything inside will die. also, if you can put stuff in the dryer, super hot works.. ( for dog beds and stuff.)

| I do not see them in wood here, and we have lots of it. nor in books. Or much anywhere else. It did appear in some laundry which I had associated with a washer contamination problem that has sincebeen resolved. It took 6 weeks for the washing machine parts to arrive... we have always used HEPA vacuums. Seriously , we don't seem to have them much anywhere else but this biz of the computer stuff having it daily growing on it just frustrates me. the room doesn't have much in it at all and I don't know how to disinfect the monitor and keyboard in such a way to stop the growth. I've tried white vinegar, ethyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol. also don't want to breathe in toxic stuff ! Quote:
