I've worked around people with dementia for a very long time and "brain fog" is a euphemism. Morgellon's "Brain Fog" acts a lot like early-middle stage dementia. Has anyone known of a morgie who has been diagnosed with any type of dementia from any disease? If so, were they prescribed Aricept or Namenda and did it improve?

After I posted it occurred to me someone might misunderstand what I meant. I don't mean dementia is responsible for morgellon's crawliness, seeing parasites or insects, just to clarify. I'm referring only to what people call "brain fog," which I can personally attest results in an actual inability to think, as though the mind is frozen, to process information, use logic, make sound judgements, speak intelligently or find the way home from the mall. Or even recognize the mall, for that matter. I'm not being flippant. This scares the hell out of me. More than any of the other symptoms, this scares the hell out of me.

| Hi sojii, I understood what you said. Yes brain-fog is a big part of "M". I can barely remember anything that happened when I was really sick. I never took any pharmaceuticals to treat "M"... the MD's wanted to treat me for DOP & that's when I walked away from traditional medicine. I'm sorry you are scared and know you have reason to be scared. You are going through a very scary stage of "M". A lot of us are doing much better now with our memories and working things out mentally. So I do believe you will get your brain power back again. Hang in there! In the white light, ~jonsi

Are you saying this is temporary? It's a stage? At what point does it go away? I've had this for more than two years; it predates my becoming itchy-crawly by several months. As anti-med as I am, I'm seriously considering seeing a doctor specifically for this.

Well, my morgies didn't disappear but the brain fog did lift after a time. After many treatments with herbs etc. It is scarey to forget what you are saying or doing in mid thought. I couldn't remember what I would go to the pantry for, or to the bedroom to get etc. That was just not me. My gosh, I had run my own business for years! Inventory, taxes, all of it and suddenly I was lost doing the grocery list. Thank goodness it got better over the last year. No, everything is not perfect, but so much better. Hang in there. I hope it will pass for you too. DD
