Default My Sister's Story

I joined this forum to tell my sister's story and what has (and has not) helped with her Morgellon's fight. She's a nurse and was originally diagnosed with scabies (18 months ago), probably from one of her patients on the psych ward of the hospital where she works. All the recommended scabies treatments didn't work. By this time she started shedding the small black flakes and was convinced she was dealing with a parasite (she caught a couple of them coming out of her skin). Of course the docs said she was delusional. Since she doesn't have a computer I started researching this for her. While I'm not a sufferer I feel as though I have a good sense of this horrible disease because I've read so many testimonials and talked with my sister daily on what was happening in her body. She itched intensely at night, had a sense of bugs crawling on her skin and under her skin, tingling in her extremities, brain fog/memory issues, fiber beds, a lot of bruising on her hands and arms, loss of hair on her arms and legs, horrible non-healing lesions, her voice became low and gravelly, lint-like fuzz around the lesions, crystal like flakes coming from her skin and so on. She was washing her sheets and clothes daily, vacuuming daily, taking Epsom salt bathes, taking garlic.
My research led me to a doctor touted on the posting boards as successfully treating Morgellons, located in the L.A. area in Calif. My sister drove the several hundred miles to an appointment with him, was charged $600 for a brief visit, a bar of soap and some sample-sized products. One of the products was from a skin care company in Korea, the soap was from Iran. The spray worked slightly by relieving some of the itching for a short period of time. This stuff didn't last 10 days and it cost $150 for refills. I should say the doctor did try to follow up with her by phone after her visit. But otherwise, it was a waste of time and money.
The next thing she tried was Nutrasilver. This seemed to help. Her voice returned to normal and the itching would subside at night so she could get a couple hours sleep at a time. However, I have to give a warning on this stuff. The directions say to start at 30 drops at first (3x/day) and work up to 60 to achieve the Herx response. She didn't have the Herx response at 30 so worked up to 60 drops and the very next day began bleeding from her mouth, the lesions, would bump her skin and start bleeding, her torso was one big bruise. Her doctor drew blood and immediately put her on Vit.K because her platelet count was way below normal. Her doctor was so concerned he sent her to a specialist. All this stopped with the Vit. K and elimination of the Nutrasilver. This may all be coincidental, but I feel I should mention her response at the time she was taking it. She began taking Nutrasilver again 30 drops 1x per day with no problems.

*The big change came with a product called Morgone Gel. I literally stumbled on this website (Morgone.com) accidentally and ordered some for my sister a month ago. Within a week of using the gel as instructed she had a massive Herx response complete with stuff and bugs coming from her skin, nausea, malaise, flu-like symtoms etc. Now, she sleeps through the night, has only periodic itching for short periods of time and nothing is coming out of her skin after the treatments. She still sees some fibers but they are greatly reduced and the lesions have healed. She told me yesterday the gel has worked a miracle for her and she is beginning to feel normal again.

The guy who developed the gel is a sufferer himself and states that his gel is not a cure - but it certainly has helped my sister. Plus, I've emailed him a few times and he seems like a really nice guy, genuinely interested in helping other sufferers.

*One more important thing: my sister made slides of the material coming from her skin. This includes the bugs. They are Collembola, of that there is no doubt. We've viewed them under the microscope and compared them to pictures of various species of Collembola (or Springtail) from the insect websites. The person who developed the gel also believes the parasites are Collembola. If you think you either don't have parasites or are not sure, I'd advise emailing him and beginning a discussion with him.

Just to say something briefly about Morgone. There was another member who tried this product and while she had some short term relief symptoms soon returned. At least this fellow is honest and does not claim a cure for I know that in this case it was not a cure.

That is right TCM I am the one that tried it. Initially I thought it helped but then it began to clog my pores and cause other problems. At the time they through in a bottle of Sulfur and Cream of Tarter combo. Don't have the bottle available right now but now I wonder if it helped more then the Gel maybe . I have a huge container still of morgone and I have tried again multiple times and did not have the same brief relief I had in the beginning.

Maybe if the formula was reworked not to contain the form of aloe vera I think may have caused my problem it might work better.

I was hopeful then sad when the lumps returned.... My honest opinion.

What, another possible case of helping myself by promoting a product?
